The Alameda 12 YO All Star team was able to bring home the Championship of the 4th annual Buckeye Classic hosted by Lafayette. The boys battled through 5 games often in temperatures over 100 degrees! The format of the tournament features the boys swinging wood bats which puts pitching and defense at a premium. Alameda was able to get key pitching performances from Zack King, Justin Leung, Jerick Griego, Eli Jones (struck out 9 in the Championship game), Jonathan Schnoebelen and Emmitt Phinney. Emmitt earned MVP honors by pitching in 4 of the 5 games and contributed all around including a championship clinching grand slam in extra innings. Key defensive plays by Jacob Price, Zachary Hayward, Sam Davis and Dayron Ricabal helped Alameda stay in tight games all week! imageimage

July 18: The Alameda 12 Year Olds were eliminated from the Section tournament with their second loss on Sunday. The boys made an impressive post-season run. The league is proud of what you accomplished. Congratulations on your season.
