Alameda Little League at Cal Bears day - May 18th

May 18th is Alameda Little League at Cal Bears. Please see the flyer for more information.
Here are the specifics (FLYER IS ATTACHED):
· Sunday, May 18th; 3pm first pitch
· Cal vs. University of Arizona
· Ticket cost: $5 general admission
· Pre-game activities include: Pre-game High 5 tunnel; Starting Lineup on field during National Anthem
· Post-game activities include: Run the bases, pictures with Cal players and Oski
· Other activities: Dugout Buddies, Jr. Announcer
· BART is a convenient way of traveling to/from Evans Field. Berkeley BART station is at Shattuck between Allston Way & Center Street. Walk up Center Street, cross Oxford, veer right toward Schlessinger Way, Evans Diamond will be on your right. It's about a 4 block walk.
· Players are encouraged to wear their uniform/hats
· Be prepared for fun and sun (i.e. bring sun screen, water) · Concession lines can be long so may want to bring own snacks

Annual SHOOTS & LADDERS Charity Basketball Game - May 16

The annual SHOOTS & LADDERS charity basketball game between Alameda Fire Department and Alameda Police Department will be held May 16, 2014 at 7:00pm at the Alameda High Gym. Tickets range from from $5-$15. All proceeds benefit Alameda Family Services. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.Alamedafs.org, Alameda Family Services - 2325 Clement Ave., or at the door. League President Ron Matthews will be the guest announcer. Please come out and suppport the AFD, APD and Alameda Family Services.
Alameda Police Department: Parking Enforcement Beginning this Weekend

The League is experiencing a parking problem. Neighbors to the fields are upset due to driveways being blocked and drivers being rude when advised that they are parking illegally. Our neighbors are the surrounding houses and Lum and Wood School. The Alameda Police Department has received numerous complaints and as a result of Neighbor and School complaints has advised the league that starting this weekend APD will begin citing ALL ILLEGALLY PARKED CARS. Please respect our neighbors and park legally. Also be courteous if someone tells you that you are blocking their driveway. If in doubt, don't park there. Thank you in advance for you cooperation and proving to the community that we obey and respect the law.
