RANK // SCHOOL // LOCATION // RECORD // *PREVIOUS RANK

1. Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) – (9-0) *1
Senior right-hander Rick Porcello dominated the Roxbury hitters and pitchers in an 8-1 victory. Porcello fanned 12 over six innings of work and helped his own cause by going 2-for-2 with two homers and four RBI. Senior outfielder Steven Brooks went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and an RBI.
2. Katy (Katy, Texas) – (27-3) *3
Seniors Carter Jurica, Nick Pepitone and Michael Fuda all hit homers to help lead Katy past Cinco Ranch, 11-2. It was the fourth homer of the season for Pepitone, who committed to Tulane.
3. Flower Mound (Flower Mound, Texas) – (23-2-2) *5
Flower Mound defeated R.L. Turner, 10-0, and Creekview, 8-2. Senior shortstop Nick Popescu went 5-for-6 with four runs scored, three stolen bases, a walk and an RBI in the two wins.
4. Madison (Vienna, Va.) – (12-1) *6
Junior right-hander Jesse Jeter tossed a complete game four-hitter to lead the Warhawks to a 10-1 victory over Stone Bridge. Senior infielder Rich Conlon added a three-run homer, while senior third baseman Brian Smith went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI.
5. Palm Beach Gardens (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) – (23-2) *7
The Gators blanked Suncoast, 9-0, as senior right-hander Sean Koecheler improved to 8-0 on the season by pitching a complete game one-hitter. Gardens begins district tournament play this week.
6. South Caldwell (Hudson, N.C.) – (18-1) *8
South Caldwell picked up two more wins last week. The team’s only loss was a 2-1 setback to East Rutherford in the championship game of the Shelby Savings Bank Easter Baseball Tournament two weeks ago.
7. Brophy Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) – (24-3) *2
The Broncos fell for just the third time this season after losing to Desert Mountain, 8-2. Brophy started the week with a 7-5 victory over Corona del Sol and followed its loss to Desert Mountain with a 14-0 blanking of Paradise Valley. Senior Josh Garcia and junior Riccio Torrez each hit two-run homers in the victory over Corona del Sol.
8. Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) – (24-3) *9
Senior right-hander Tim Alderson allowed one run over four innings as the Huskies cruised past Highland, 11-1. Alderson is 9-0 this year with a 1.37 ERA and 71 strikeouts.
9. Auburn (Auburn, Wash.) – (14-1) *11
Auburn blanked White River, 10-0, thanks to junior right-hander David Olson, who tossed a no-hitter and fanned eight over five innings of work.
10. Lexington Catholic (Lexington, Ky.) – (15-1) *12
Lexington Catholic earned four wins last week, including three at the Frank Shoop Classic. The Knights upended Boyd County, 17-6, in five innings in one of the wins at the Frank Shoop Classic.
11. James Monroe (New York, N.Y.) – (25-0) *13
The Eagles picked up three wins last week, including an 11-5 victory over George Washington in eight innings after they plated six runs in the top of the eighth. James Monroe followed that with a narrow 2-1 win over J.F.K. in which senior left-hander Dawin Rivas went the distance and struck out 11 without allowing an earned run. Rivas hasn’t given up an earned run in three consecutive starts.
12. Bellaire (Bellaire, Texas) – (30-0) *14
Bellaire bested Westside, 4-1, to clinch the District 20-5A title. Tyler Duffey earned the win, while Sean Lamont led the offense with a two-run homer.
13. Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw, Ga.) – (17-3) *4
The Mustangs were edged by McEachern, 1-0. It was the second time Kennesaw Mountain lost to McEachern (14-7) and both have come by one run.

16. Lakewood (Lakewood, Calif.) – (20-3) *18
Thanks to Barbe and Bishop Gorman dropping in the rankings, Lakewood moves up two spots despite having its only game last week postponed.
17. West Lauderdale (Collinsville, Miss.) – (32-1) *20
The Knights began their run to a Class 4A state title with a pair of shutout wins over New Albany last week. Seniors Paxton Pace and Austin Davis picked up the wins on the mound, combining to fan 14 batters and surrender just five hits in the two games.
18. Owasso (Owasso, Okla.) – (23-3) *22
Four games in five days proved to be no problem for the Rams, who knocked off Stillwater (7-3), Memorial (7-1) and Brown Arrow twice (14-8 and 4-1). Three of Owasso’s four starters struck out at least 10 batters in their outings. Junior Brian Flynn set down 12, senior Matt Hoffman fanned 11 and sophomore Austin Kirk whiffed 10.
19. Langham Creek (Houston, Texas) – (25-2) *21
A non-district showdown with Brazoswood was postponed last week, meaning the Lobos only action was a 12-2 win over Cy Falls. Two-way player Corey Maines continues to lead the team in most categories, including ERA (0.52), batting average (.440), RBI (24) and home runs (four).
20. Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) – (24-1) *23
The Hornets concluded the regular season on a high note, topping Osceola last Friday, 12-0, in five innings. Senior first baseman Jeff Caldwell’s grand slam led Bishop Moore’s offensive explosion.
21. Chatsworth (Chatsworth, Calif.) – (18-4) *24
The Chancellors have won 13 of their last 14 games, including two easy wins over Birmingham last week. Seniors Mike Moustakas and Matt Dominguez each went deep in the team’s 13-2 win last Tuesday. In the 11-3 triumph on Thursday, senior Nick Devian hit a pair of two-run bombs.
22. James River (Midlothian, Va.) – (13-0) *NR
The first of two new teams in the RISE National Top 25, James River went 2-0 last week to improve to 13-0 overall. How good have the Rapids been this spring? A home run by an L.C. Bird player in last week’s 5-1 win was the first homer surrendered by James River this season.
23. Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.) – (20-0) *NR
The Cardinals charged into the RISE National Top 25 right behind James River thanks to an impressive 20-0 start. Sophomore shortstop Patrick Blair continued to crush the ball in the team’s 10-2 win over McDonough last Thursday, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs and two steals.
24. Barbe (Lake Charles, La.) – (31-4) *10
The Buccaneers bounced back from a 3-2 loss to New Iberia last week by defeating Comeaux, 11-4, on Saturday. Senior Thad Griffen was 2-for-5 in the win, registering a home run, a double and two RBI.
