RANK // SCHOOL // LOCATION // RECORD // *PREVIOUS RANK

1. Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) – (13-0) *1
The Pirates blanked Montclair Kimberley, 8-0, in the first round of the Greater Newark Tournament. Senior right-hander Rick Porcello tossed a complete game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to improve to 4-0 on the season. The one hit he allowed was an infield single that glanced off his glove. Junior third baseman Matt Zajac went 3-for-4 with an RBI and is hitting better than .500 this year. Seton Hall will play a stretch of six games this week.
2. Katy (Katy, Texas) – (29-3) *2
The Tigers closed a perfect District 18-5A campaign with easy wins over Elsik (15-0) and Mayde Creek (8-0) last week. Katy now enters the Class 5A state tournament riding a 21-game winning streak.
3. Flower Mound (Flower Mound, Texas) – (25-2-2) *3
The District 6-5A champs finished the regular season with a pair of wins over area powers Coppell (8-3) and Lewisville (11-2) last week. Senior pitcher Zach Neal entered the postseason having allowed just three earned runs in 40.1 innings thus far.
4. Brophy Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) – (27-3) *7
The Broncos rolled past Mesquite, 11-0, in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. Junior outfielder Harlyn Griffiths had a 2-for-3 day at the dish with a homer and two RBI for Brophy, which is the defending state champ. Brophy plays Mountain Ridge in the second round on Tuesday.
5. Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) – (27-3) *8
The Huskies had a tough first-round battle with Alhambra in the Class 5A Division I state tournament but were able to advance with a 2-1 victory. Senior right-hander and Georgia recruit Kevin Rhoderick lifted his team to the win by fanning 16. Horizon takes on Gilbert in the second round on Tuesday.
6. Auburn (Auburn, Wash.) – (17-1) *9
Since losing to Bonney Lake on April 3, the Trojans outscored their next seven opponents 75-9. Auburn avenged its loss to Bonney Lake last week, topping the Panthers 10-2. Senior Kellen Kiilsgaard went 3-for-3 in the victory, cracking a pair of two-run home runs.
7. Lexington Catholic (Lexington, Ky.) – (20-1) *10
The Knights won five games last week, including three at the Louisville Invitational Tournament, to stretch their winning to 17 games and their winning streak against in-state schools to 23. Lexington Catholic escaped with a 5-2 victory in 10 innings against Pleasure Ridge Park during the Louisville Invitational Tournament. The Knights scored three runs in the 10th inning, while stud junior lefty Nick Maronde improved to 6-0 after striking out eight and giving up one hit in four innings of relief.
8. Sarasota (Sarasota, Fla.) – (24-3) *15
The Sailors blanked Durant, 7-0, in the District 8-6A championship for their fourth consecutive district title. Scooter Gennett, Casey Kelly and Joey Terdoslavich blasted consecutive homers in the first inning, while Kelly also pitched a complete game two-hitter on the mound with nine strikeouts. Sarasota, which lost in last year’s Class 6A state finals, will play Gaither in regional quarterfinals of the Class 6A state tournament on Tuesday.
9. West Lauderdale (Collinsville, Miss.) – (34-1) *17
The Knights jumped over a few teams in the rankings to get to the No. 9 spot, but their move up the ladder is well deserved, especially after their two-game sweep of Pearl in the Class 4A state quarterfinals. West Lauderdale won the first game, 4-1, thanks to Paxton Pace, who tossed a two-hitter. Meanwhile, Patrick Daugherty hit a solo homer, giving West Lauderdale a school-record 52 homers as a team this year.
10. Lakewood (Lakewood, Calif.) – (23-3) *16
The Lancers edged Moore League rival and No. 14 Long Beach Wilson, 5-4. Wilson had defeated Lakewood, 7-6, earlier this season. In this game, Lakewood junior right-hander Omar Jimenez allowed five hits to run his record to 7-1. The Lancers have won 12 consecutive games.
11. Owasso (Owasso, Okla.) – (28-3) *18
The Rams closed the regular season on a 16-game winning streak, including five wins last week. In a 2-0 win over Sand Springs on Saturday, senior left-hander Matt Hoffman improved to 6-1 on the year thanks to a 15-strikeout, one-hit effort.
12. Palm Beach Gardens (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) – (24-3) *5
The Gators lost to new-No. 25 and rival Palm Beach Central, 4-2, in the District 9-6A championship. Gardens had beaten the Broncos twice this season by a combined score of 16-1. The Gators will play Park Vista (22-4) in the regional quarterfinals of the Class 6A state tournament on Tuesday.
13. Langham Creek (Houston, Texas) – (28-2) *19
The Lobos are swinging the bats well entering the postseason. In three games last week, Langham Creek scored a combined 36 runs. In a 13-3 triumph over Cy Springs on Tuesday, senior Zak Leonhardt went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI.
14. Long Beach Wilson (Long Beach, Calif.) – (23-3) *14
The Bruins fell to then-No. 16 Lakewood, 5-4. Wilson had beaten the Lancers, 7-6, earlier this season. Senior outfielder Elliott Glynn went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the loss. Before losing to Lakewood, the Bruins bested Long Beach Jordan, 9-2, as senior hurler Richard Hanson improved to 7-0.
15. Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) – (26-1) *20
After beating St. Cloud, 3-1, in the district finals, the Hornets set their sites on Nature Coast, which they’ll play in the regional quarterfinals of the Class 4A state tournament on Tuesday.
16. Chatsworth (Chatsworth, Calif.) – (21-4) *21
The Chancellors blasted eight homers in a 17-3 victory over Cleveland. It was the second time Chatsworth has hit eight homers in a game this year. In the win over Cleveland, senior third baseman Matt Dominguez and senior outfielder Nick Devian each hit a pair of homers.
17. James River (Midlothian, Va.) – (14-0) *22
The Rapids only took the field once last week but still move up five spots in this week’s RISE National Top 25. In James River’s 15-0 demolition of Huguenot on Tuesday, senior pitcher Chris Anderson surrendered just two hits to earn the win. He also went 2-for-3 at the dish with an RBI.
18. Calvert Hall (Baltimore, Md.) – (22-0) *23
The Cardinals remained perfect with two more wins last week, a 10-4 triumph over Mt. St. Joseph and an 8-1 victory against Archbishop Curley. John Collingsworth, Bobby Corton, Kevin Lingerman and Drew Burton all homered in the win over Curley.
19. Oakland (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) – (35-1) *NR
The Patriots enter the National Top 25 on a roll. Last week, Oakland captured the District 7-AAA regular season title with a 14-3 victory over Warren County. Senior Memphis recruit Marcus Barnes went 3-for-3 with a homer, three runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base. Barnes, who has 11 homers this year, is 6-0 on the hill, but The Daily News Journal reports that he’s now just serving as the team’s DH due to soreness in his left shoulder but is looking to get back on the bump in time for the postseason.
20. Madison (Vienna, Va.) – (13-2) *4
The Warhawks drop 16 spots in the RISE National Top 25 after losing Friday to Jefferson, a team Madison had beaten 12-3 earlier in the season. Senior Jason Farley paced the Warhawks’ offense in the 5-4 loss, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
21. South Caldwell (Hudson, N.C.) – (20-2) *6
For the second time this month, South Caldwell ace Madison Bumgarner was outdueled. This time, Reynolds senior Sam Runion did the trick, helping the Rockets top the Spartans, 5-3, last Friday. Runion, like Bumgarner, is expected to be a high-round pick in June’s MLB Draft.
22. James Monroe (New York, N.Y.) – (27-1) *11
The Eagles drop 11 spots after losing to Xaverian, 3-2. Monroe managed just five hits in the loss. Monroe did pick up wins over Columbus (11-0 in five innings) and Newfield (18-9). Right-hander Jesus Vasquez tossed a no-hitter with nine K’s in the win over Columbus.
23. Bellaire (Bellaire, Texas) – (31-1) *12
The Cardinals won 31 consecutive games to open the season, but the magic ran out against Eric Eiland and Houston Lamar last week. Eiland, rated the nation’s No. 28 senior prospect by RISE, went 2-for-4 and scored a run to help Lamar (25-5) bring Bellaire’s undefeated run to an end with a 10-3 win in the final game of the regular season.
24. Barbe (Lake Charles, La.) – (33-4) *24
A 9-1 victory over Sulphur combined with Lafayette’s loss to Acadiana last week allowed Barbe to claim its 13th consecutive district championship. Senior Thad Griffen doubled, tripled and drove in three runs in the regular season finale.
25. Palm Beach Central (Wellington, Fla.) – (22-6) *NR
The Broncos upended then-No. 5 Palm Beach Gardens, 4-2, in the District 9-6A championship for their fourth consecutive district title. Senior right-hander Nate Chavez earned the win on the bump, while senior designated hitter/left-handed pitcher Mike Gipson went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Central will play John I. Leonard on Tuesday in the regional quarterfinals of the Class 6A state tournament. Three of the Broncos’ six losses are by forfeit as a result of using an ineligible player during those games.
