 In the Varsity 4x100m Relay, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby ran a 11.99 100m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a 11.72 100m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt ran a 14.13 100m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Senior Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman anchored the Mustangs to third place in their heat, and sixth place overall with a 11.10 100m split for an official time of 48.94. (hand-time). Northside was awarded 3 points for finishing in sixth place overall in the Varsity 4x100m Relay.

 In the Junior Varsity 4x100m Relay, Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor ran a 13.99 100m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero ran a 12.91 100m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran a 12.50 100m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke ran a 13.07 100m split to anchor Northside to SECOND place with an official time of 52.47. (hand-time).

 In the Varsity 110m Hurdles Prelims, Northside Junior Garret Barch QUALIFIED for the Finals with an official time of 16.95. Northside Senior Matt Osborne QUALIFIED for the Finals with an official time of 18.10.

 In the Varsity 110m Hurdles Finals, Northside Junior Garret Barch survived a dangerous collission with the hurdles to finish in SECOND place with an official time of 18.10. Northside Senior Matt Osborne scratched due to injury.

In the Sophomore 110m Hurdles,Sophomore Jack Nolan won it with an official time of 20.95.

 In the Varsity 100m Dash Prelims, Northside Junior Keith Jones QUALIFED for the Finals with an official time of 12.42. Northside Junior Steven Kataba QUALIFED for the Finals with an official time of 12.57.

 In the Varsity 100m Dash Finals, Northside Junior Keith Jones finished in seventh place with an outstanding time of 12.23. Northside Junior Steven Kataba finished in ninth place with an official time of 12.51.

 In the Sophomore 100m Dash, Northside Freshman Nick Brown finished in sixth place with an official time of 13.44.

 In the Varsity 800m run, Oswego East Senior Turner Kelly won it with an official time of 2:05.07. Oswergo East Junior Tanner McQuality finished in second place with an official time of 2:07.09. St. Viator Junior Jacob Bonanotte finished in third place with an official time of 2:08.66. Northside Senior Max McCoy ran the first 400m in 63 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 72 seconds to finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:15.92. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto ran the first 400m in 65 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 75 seconds to finished in fifth place with an official time of 2:20.85. St. Viator Junior Drew Morton finished in sixth place with an official time of 2:27.06. Elmhurst I.C. Junior Eliot Sexton finished in seventh place with an official time of 2:27.66. Perspectives Charter Dashawn Tharpe finished in eighth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 2:29.76.

 In the Sophomore 800m run, Northside Freshman George McCoy ran the first 400m in 74 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 92 seconds to finish in FIFTH place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 2:46.30. George McCoy dropped two seconds (2:48.40) off his best time with an outstanding time of 2:46.30.

 In the Varsity 4x200m Relay, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby ran a 24.74 200m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a 26.28 200m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran a 25.97 200m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt anchored Northside to sixth place with a 26.26 200m split for an official time of 1:44.20.

  In the Junior Varsity 4x200m Relay, Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor ran a 27.27 200m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero ran a 29.22 200m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran a 27.16 200m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke anchored Northside to SECOND place with a 28.89 200m split for an official time of 1:53.96.  

 In the Varsity 400m Dash, Northside Junior Tom Frejowski finished in fourth place with an official time of 54.35. Northside Junior Steven Kataba finished in 8th place to complete the scoring with an official time of 57.64.

 In the Sophomore 400m Dash, Northside had no entries.

 In the Varsity 400m Hurdles, Northside Senior Matt Osborne and Junior Garret Barch both scratched due to injuries.

 In the Sophomore 400m Hurdles, Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in THIRD place with an official time of 81.87.

 In the Varsity 1600m run, Oswego East Junior Trevor Nold won it with an official time of 4:44.18. Oswego East Sophomore Dylan Zangri finished in second place with an official time of 4:49.19. Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz ran 400m splits of 68 seconds, 74 seconds (2:24 800m split), 78 seconds (3:42 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 74 seconds to finish in THIRD place with an official time of 4:56.32. Alex Ortiz will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in third place overall. St. Viator Sophomore Sam Brey finished in fourth place with an official time of 4:57.65. Northside Senior Adrian Black ran 400m splits of 72, 77 seconds (2:29 800m split), 79 seconds (3:48 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 72 seconds to finish in FIFTH place with an official time of 5:01.28. Montini Senior Tyler Pacana finished in sixth place with an official time of 5:03.24. Montini Freshman Jake Mondschean finished in seventh place with an official time of 5:06.29. St. Viator Junior John Duffy finished in eighth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 5:28.30.

 In the Sophomore 1600m run, Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal finished in THIRD place with an outstanding time of 5:35.34. Kyle Lowenthal ran 400m splits of 74 seconds, 87 seconds (2:41 800m split), 90 seconds (4:11 1200m split), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 84 seconds for an official time of 5:35.34.

 In the Varsity 200m dash, Northside Junior Keith Jones finished in SECOND place with an official time of 24.71. Keith Jones will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in ninth place with an outstanding time of 25.80.

  In the Sophomore 200m Dash, Northside Freshman Carel Jones finished in THIRD place with an outstanding time of 26.46.

  In the Varsity 4x400m Relay, Northside Junior Danny Rosen ran an impressive 53.43 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Senior Gabriel Jiminez-Ekman ran a personal best 55.59 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt ran an outstanding 60.03 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Senior Tom Frejowski anchored the Mustangs to SECOND place with a 55.36 400m split for an official time of 3:45.06.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Northside traveled to River Park Track in Chicago, Illinois for the Eric Nelson Classic.

 The meet featured Chicago Leo High School (2012 IHSA State Track and Field Champions), Chicago Bulls College Prep, Von Steuben, Ogden International, Roosevelt, and host Northside College Prep.

 The 2015 Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic provided a very special Track & Field experience for all participants.

  Medals were awarded to the Top 3 Athletes in each event. Ribbons were awarded for places fourth through sixth. Goody bags were also given to all participants on every team.

 Once a Northside athlete holds the school record and has qualified for the IHSA State Track & Field Championships in that event, the event is then named after the athlete in the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic, beginning the following year. 

 Plaques were awarded to the winner of the High Jump in honor of Northside Alumni Eric Nelson, the winner of the 800m run in honor of Northside Alumni Wesley Laytham, the winner of the Long Jump in honor of Northside Alumni Josh Williams, the winner of the 400m run in honor of Northside Alumni Mac Melto, the winner of the 110m Hurdles in honor of Northside Alumni Lucien Fitzaptrick, and the winners of the 4x800m Relay in honor of IHSA State Qualifiers Malcolm Grba, Danny Rosen, and Northside Alumni Simon Kafka, and Patrick Brennan.

 River Park Track was spectacular. It is one of the best venues in Chicago for Track & Field.

 A special thanks to Northside parents Juan and Diana Sotomayor for serving as the clerks of the course, and for checking in over 660 athletes, and providing them with hip numbers for each event.

 A special thanks to the Rappaport Family, the Lowenthal Family, the Lothschutz Family, the Sotomayor Family, and the Northside Coaching Staff for helping make 320 goody bags for the Eric Nelson Classic.  

 The Team would also like to thank Northside Assistant Distance Coach Patrick O'Connor, Sprints Coach Vernon James, Hurdles and Jumps Coach Makenzie Carr, and Throws Coach Erasmo De La Cruz  for helping with all of the heavy lifting of equipment before the meet, and for their outstanding coaching during the meet.

 The Team would also like to thank Northside Alumni Parent Craig Williams, and Northside Parent Jonathan Weatherly for helping set up hurdles, and raking the Long Jump Pit.

 The Team would also like to thank Victor Bautista and Northside Parent Marc Rosen for taking photos of the 2015 Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic.

 The Team would also like to thank Northside Parent Nancy Lowenthal for providing bottled water for the Eric Nelson Classic.

 The Team would also like to thank Northside Volunteer Coach Jose Nebrida for providing Bananas for the Eric Nelson Classic.

 The Team would also like to thank North Park University Head Coach Geoff Masanet, and staff for providing Northside with all of the Track & Field Equipment for the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic. 

 The Team would also like to thank Vera Onate and the Chicago Park District for all of their help in preparation for the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic. 

 The Team would also like to thank Northside Athletic Director Andrew Mayer for all of his help in preparation and meet management for the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic.

 The Team would also like to thank IHSA Officials Steve Battle and Bernie Lewis for officiating Long Jump and Triple Jump. 

  Northside would also like to thank IHSA Official Mike Powers for serving as the Starter for the 2015 Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic. Mike Powers was also the starter for the Indoor State Championships in Bloomington, Illinois.

 Northside would also like to thank IHSA Official Michael Hester for serving as Assistant Starter.

 Northside would also like to thank Clark Jillson of AccuRace Timing ServicesThe meet was finished in record time thanks to the tremendous efforts of Clark Jillson. Clark Jillson also published the official results immediately after each event was finished on the wall next to the concession stand. Team scores were also provided after each event.

 AccuRace Timing is also the official timer for the IHSA Track & Field Sectionals, William Penn University, the University of Wisconsin, IIlinois State, Marquette University, Ashford University, University of Dubuque, Grand View University, North Central, Knox College, and Macalester College. 

 Last, the Northside Coaching Staff would like to thank all of the Northside athletes. Hours after the meet ended, Northside athletes stayed at River Park Track putting away the High Jump Pit, covering the Long Jump pit, covering the Triple Jump Put, and putting all of the Hurdles away. Thanks again.

 The meet was scored on the following scale for individual events and relays: 10-8-6-4-2-1.

 After 15 events, Northside was trailing Chicago Leo (2012 IHSA State Track & Field Champions) by a score of 157 to 161. Northside needed to win the 4x400m Relay, and have one Team finish ahead of Chicago Leo for the meet to end in a first place tie! Northside needed to win the 4x400m Relay, and have two Teams finish ahead of Chicago Leo in the 4x400m relay to win the meet, without a first place tie. Northside was fortunate to get help from Von Steuben in the 4x400m Relay.

 Northside (Steven Kataba, Sergio Soto, Danny Rosen, Tom Frejowski) WON the 4x400m Relay with an official time of 3:42.69. Von Steuben finished in second place in the 4x400m Relay with an official time of 3:54.04. Chicago Leo finished in third place in the 4x400m Relay with an official time of 3:56.68. Chicago Bulls finished in fourth place in the 4x400m Relay with an official time of 4:01.55. Roosevelt finished in fifth place in the 4x400m Relay with an official time of 5:15.10.

 Northside and Chicago Leo tied for FIRST PLACE with a score of 167 points, and posted victories over: 3. Von Steuben (74 points), 4. Chicago Bulls (32 points), 5. Roosevelt (27 points), and 6. Ogden (23 points).

 Congratulations to Hall of Fame Coach Ed Adams and the Chicago Leo Lions, and the Chicago Northside Mustangs for finishing in a FIRST PLACE tie with 167 points!! It was the most exciting finish in the history of the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic.

 Northside Senior Malcolm Grba is an elite level middle distance runner in the 4x800m Relay, 800m, 1600m, and 4x400m Relay. At the Eric Nelson Classic, Northside had Malcolm Grba help the TEAM with his outstanding physical strength in the Discus, and his outstanding Endurance in the 3200m run. Grba secured vital points for Northside in both events.

 In the Varsity Discus, Northside Senior Malcolm Grba was the Mustangs top thrower, and earned a RIBBON by finishing in fourth place with a season best throw of 89'11. The best is yet to come. Grba threw 89'11 with a standing throw. Northside Junior Gabriel Krell also earned a RIBBON by finishing in fifth place with a personal best throw of 86'01. Krell improved by 8'0 from 2014 (78'2) with a personal best throw of 86'01. Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak finished in eighth place with a personal best throw of 73'10. Wdowiak improved by 3'10 from 2014 (70'0) with a personal best throw of 73'10. Northside Sophomore Matthew Kosova finished in tenth place with a personal best throw of 70'05. Northside Junior Simon Lothshutz finished in 12th place with an outstanding throw of 65'09. Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in 14th place with an personal best throw of 60'00. Cosby improved by 2'0 from 2014 (58'05) with a personal best throw of 60'00. Northside Junior Milos Popovic finished in 15th place with a personal best throw of 57'07. Popovic IMPROVED by 16'0 from 2014 (41'06) with a personal best throw of 57'07. Northside Junior Jordan Lozinski finished in 17th place with a personal best throw of 55'09. Northside Freshman Matthew Gardner finished in 18th place with a personal best throw of 53'09. Northside Junior Elsadig Abdalla finished in 20th place with a personal best throw of 53'04.  In the Varsity Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby was the Mustangs top thrower, and earned a MEDAL by finishing in third place with an outstanding throw of 37'01. Northside Freshman Matthew Gardner finished in ninth place with a personal best throw of 30'06. Northside Junior Simon Lothschutz finished in tenth place with an outstanding throw of 29'07. Northside Sophomore Matthew Kosova finished in 13th place with a personal best throw of 26'09. Northside Sophomore Carlos Saldana finished in 14th place with a throw of 26'03. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero finished in 15th place with a throw of 25'05. Northside Junior Jordan Lozinski finished in 16th place with a throw of 25'04.  In the Varsity Josh Williams Long Jump at the Eric Nelson Classic, Chicago Leo Senior Latrell Giles won it with a jump of 19'04.00. Ogden Freshman Carson Hodges finished in second place with a jump of 18'09.75. Chicago Leo Sophomore David Moore finished in third place with a jump of 18'01.00. Northside Senior Porter Abbey earned a RIBBON by finishing in fourth place with a jump of 18'00.00. Northside Senior Matt Osborne earned a RIBBON by finishing in fifth place with a jump of 16'11.00. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus earned a RIBBON and completed the scoring by finishing in sixth place with a jump of 16'06.50. Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in eigth place with a jump of 13'00.00. Northside Freshman Elias Decker finished in ninth place with a jump of 12'05.75.

 In the Varsity Triple Jump, Northside Senior Matt Osborne WON it with a jump of 38'08.00. Matt Osborne was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in FIRST place in the Triple Jump. Chicago Leo Senior Latrell Giles finished in second place with a jump of 37'10.00. Northside Senior Porter Abbey earned a MEDAL by finishinig in THIRD place in the Triple jump with an outstanding jump of 36'11.25. Ogden Sophomore Giovanni Hollingsworth finished in fourth place with a jump of 36'02. Chicago Leo Junior Terrence Lee fvinished in fifth place with a jump of 35'07.00. Chicago Bulls Senior Courtney Cosey finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 32'00. Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in seventh place with a personal best jump of 30'10.00. Northside Freshmen Asher Rappaport finished in tenth place with a personal best jump of 28'01.00. Northside Freshman Elias Decker finished in eleventh place with an outstanding jump of 25'07.00.

 In the Varsity Eric Nelson High Jump, Von Steuben Junior Christopher Wilson won it with a leap of 5'8. Chicago Leo Sophomore Kalid Manney finished in second place with a jump of 5'6. Chicago Leo Junior Terrence Lee finished in third place with a jump of 5'0. Ogden Senior Josh Jones finished in fourth place with a jump of 5'0.

 In the Varsity Lucien Fitzpatrick 110m Hurdles at the Eric Nelson Classic, Northside Junior Garret Barch WON it with a PERSONAL BEST time of 16.67. Garret Barch dropped 2.95 seconds (19.62) off his best time from 2014! Garret Barch will be awarded a Plaque for winning the Lucien Fitzpatrcik 110m Hurdles at the Eric Nelson Classic! Northside Junior Justin Washington finished in SECOND place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 17.16. Justin Washington dropped 1.52 seconds (18.68) off his best time from 2014! Justin Washington will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place. Northside Senior Matt Osborne finished in THIRD place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 17.42. Matt Osborne dropped 0.77 of a second (18.19) off his best time from 2014! Matt Osborne will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in third place. Northside Senior Porter Abbey earned a RIBBON by finishing in fourth place with an outstanding time of 17.86. Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport earned his FIRST Varsity Letter in Track & Field by scoring two points in the Varsity 110m Hurdles. Asher Rappaport finished in fifth place with a personal best time of 20.17. Asher Rappaport will be awarded a RIBBON for finishing in fifth place overall. The best is yet to come. Rappaport did not use spikes in the race, and still finished in fifth place. Chicago Leo Clyde Cobb completed the scoring by finishing in sixth place with an official time of 21.12. Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in seventh place with a personal best time of 21.20. Jack Nolan dropped 1.87 seconds (23.07) off his best time from 2014! Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero finished in eigth place with a personal best time of 23.01. Northside Freshman Elias Decker finished in ninth place with a personal best time of 24.13.
