 In the Sophomore 4x400m Relay, Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz ran a personal best 400m split of 59.12 on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Kyle Lowenthal. Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal ran an outstanding 400m split of 63.79 on the second leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Jakob Lemke. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke ran a 400m split of 65.03 on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Mason Sotomayor. Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor anchored Northside to ninth place with an outstanding 400m split of 68.42 for an official time of 4:16.73. Freshman Mason Sotomayor competed in the 4x800m, 4x200m, and 4x400m Relays! imageimageimage

 On Saturday, April 4, 2015, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Palatine, Illinois for the St. Viator Inviational at Harper College.

 The meet featured eight schools, including: Oswego East, Chicago Orr, Elmhurst Immaculate Conception, Perspectives IIT Math and Science, Northside College Prep, Calumet Perspectives Charter, Montini, and host St. Viator.

 Teams were provided with two entires and one relay in the Varsity division. Teams were provided with one entry in the Sophomore division, and one Junior Varsity Relay. 

  One week after the meet ended Northside received official results for the St. Viator Invitational. Pat Marshall of IL Prep Top Timing Company was the official F.A.T. Timer for the St. Viator Invitational, and did not have any results published during the meet, or at the conclusion of the meet. The announcer stated that their was a "computer glitch", and for the second year in a row, no official results were available at the St.Viator Invitational. St. Viator was not able to distribute any Team Trophies and Medals at the meet. 

 The St. Viator Invitational was scored on the following point scale for individual events: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 and 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for Relays. Gold Medals will be awarded for first place. Silver Medals will be awarded for second place. Bronze Medals will be awarded for third place.

 The unofficial Varsity Team scores are: 1. Oswego East (164 points), 2. St. Viator (117 points), 3. Northside (96 points), 4. Montini (74 points), 5. Perspectives Charter (53 points), 6. Orr (41 points), 7. Perspectives IIT Math and Science (20 points), and 8. Elmhurst Immaculate Conception (14 points). None of the Team scores provided correspond with the totals that each coach calculated for their Team, including host St.Viator. However, we believe the Team places are correct.

 Northside had a record of 5-2 on the day, and now has an outdoor season record of 9-2.

The unofficial Sophomore Team scores are: 1. Oswego East (108.5 points), 2. Northside (69 points), 3. Perspectives Charter (53 points), 4. Montini (43 points), 5. St. Viator (42 points), 6. Perspectives IIT Math and Science (36 points), 7. Elmhurst Immaculate Conception (24 points), and 8. Orr (21 points).

 The Northside Sophomore Team had a record of 6-1 on the day.

 The Varsity and Sophomore Discus competition was canceled due to problems with the field.

 In the Varsity Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in 7th place with a throw of 35'01. Northside Freshman Matthew Gardner did not show up to the meet, and was scratched.

 In the Sophomore Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Matthew Kosova finished in 5th place with a throw of 24'01.

 In the Varsity and Sophomore High Jump competition, Northside had no entries.

 In the Varsity and Sophomore Pole Vault competition, Northside had no entries. 

 In the Varsity Long Jump, Northside Senior Matt Osborne finished in fourth place with a jump of 16'11.50. Northside Junior Garret Barch finished in sixth place with a PERSONAL BEST jump of 16'08.00.

 In the Sophomore Long Jump, Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in fourth place with a jump of 12'06.50.

 In the Varsity Triple Jump, Northside Senior Matt Osborne finished in SECOND place with a jump of 38'06. Northside Freshman Elias Decker did not show up to the meet, and was scratched.

 In the Sophomore Triple Jump, Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in fourth place with a jump of 30'08.

 In the Varsity 3200m run, Northside Junior Danny Rosen WON it with an official time of 9:51.85. Danny Rosen dropped 36.15 seconds (10:28) with a personal best time of 9:51.85. Danny Rosen ran the first 1600m in 5:01, and then ran the final 1600m in 4:50 to BREAK THE TEN MINUTES BARRIER for a personal best time of 9:51.85. Danny Rosen ran the third fastest time in the history of Northside!! Danny Rosen will be awarded a MEDAL for finishing in first place in the 3200m run. Northside Junior Troy Hu finished in fourth place overall with an official time of 10:59.69. Troy Hu dropped 8 seconds (11:07.94) with a personal best time of 10:59.69. Troy Hy ran the first 1600m in 5:22, and then ran the final 1600m in 5:37 to BREAK THE ELEVEN MINUTES BARRIER for a personal best time of 10:59.69. Northside scored 15 points in the Varsity 3200m run!!

 In the Sophomore 3200m run, Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke finished in SECOND place with a personal best time of 12:04.13. Jakob Lemke ran the first 1600m in 5:54, and then ran the final 1600m in 6:10 for a personal best time of 12:04.13.

 In the Sophomore 4x800m Relay, Northside scratched the event due to athletes unable to attend the meet during spring break vacation. Northside was awarded no points in the Sophomore 4x800m Relay.

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, St. Viator won it with an official time of 8:31.14. Oswego East finished in second place with an official time of 8:49.35. Chicago Northside finished in THIRD place with an official time of 9:14.15. Sergio Soto, Brian McManus, Adrian Black, and Alex Ortiz will be awarded MEDALS for finishing in THIRD place overall. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto ran the first 400m in 63 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 73 seconds for a PERSONAL BEST 800m split of 2:16.77, and made a nice exchange to Brian McManus. Sergio Soto dropped 1.76 seconds off his best 800m time (2:18.53) with an impressive split of 2:16.77. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus ran the first 400m in 66.23 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 71.15 seconds for a PERSONAL BEST 800m split of 2:17.38, and made a perfect exchange to Adrian Black. Brian McManus dropped 4.84 seconds off his best 800m time (2:22.22) with an impressive split of 2:17.38.

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Sophomores Sergio Soto and Brian McManus put the Mustangs in THIRD place, and Brian McManus made a perfect exchange to Adrian Black. On third leg of the 4x800m relay, Northside Senior Adrian Black ran the first 400m in 67.85 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 73.56 seconds for an outstanding 2:21.41 800m split, and made a nice exchange to Alex Ortiz. Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz opened up the lead on Lombard Montini by running the first 400m in 67.44 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 70.75 seconds for an impressive 800m split of 2:18.39 to secure THIRD place for the Chicago Northside Mustangs with an official time of 9:14.15. Lombard Montini finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:31.51. Elmhurst finished in sixth place with an official time of 10:01.44. imageimageimage
