 In the Sophomore 3200m run, Northside Sophomore Arjuna Lemke ran the first 1600m in 5:37, and then ran the final 1600m in 6:03 for a PERSONAL BEST time of 11:40.49. Arjuna "Jakob" Lemke dropped 24 seconds off his best time (12:04.13) to finish in seventh place with a personal best time of 11:40.49.

 Arjuna Lemke is part of a strong core of Sophomore Distance runners. Northside now has FIVE Sophomores that have run under 11:41 in 3200m run this outdoor Track season, including: Alex Ortiz (10:17.58), Kyle Friedler (10:18.77), Brian McManus (11:09.57), Sergio Soto (11:29.00), and Arjuna Lemke (11:40.49). Northside has a BIG future in Cross Country, and the 3200m run!

 In the Varsity 3200m run, Northside Junior Troy Hu finished in eighth place with an outstanding time of 11:00.37. Troy Hu ran the first 1600m in 5:21, and then ran the final 1600m in 5:39 for an official time of 11:00.37. Northside Junior Michael Rupprecht ran the first 1600m in 6:11, and then ran the final 1600m in 6:29 to finish in 12th place with an official time of 12:40.57

 In the Varsity 200m Dash Prelims, twenty-two athletes from 11 schools competed for 8 spots to advance to the Finals. Northside Junior Keith Jones QUALIFIED for the Finals with an outstanding time of 23.45. Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak QUALIFIED for the Finals with an outstanding time of 23.55. It was the first time that Northside had two men in the Varsity 200m Dash Finals at the Mike VanDeever Invitational.

 In the Sophomore 200m Dash Prelims, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby QUALIFIED for the Finals with a PERSONAL BEST time of 24.63. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran an official time of 26.91.

 In the Varsity 200m Dash Finals, Northside Junior Keith Jones finished in fifth place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 23.16. Keith Jones was awarded a RIBBON for finishing in fifth place overall. Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak finished in eighth place with an outstanding time of 24.20.

 In the Sophomore 200m Dash Finals, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in fourth place with an outstanding time of 24.83.

 In the Sophomore Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in SECOND place with an outstanding throw of 37'05. Jacob Cosby was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Northside Sophomore Matthew Kosova finished in 13th place overall with a personal best throw of 29'07.

 In the Sophomore Discus, Northside Sophomore Matthew Kosova threw the Discus an official distance of 49'09.

 In the Sophomore High Jump, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in 9th place with a leap of 4'11. The best is yet to come. Jacob Cosby did not use spikes during the High Jump competition. Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport made three outstanding attempts, but was unable to clear it.

 In the Sophomore 4x800m Relay, 11 schools competed for the Gold Medals at the Mike VanDeever Invitational. Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz ran the first 400m in 67 seconds, and opened up the lead by running the final 400m in an EVEN split of 67 seconds for an outstanding 800m split of 2:14.90, and made a perfect exchange to Sergio Soto. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto ran the first 400m in 64 seconds, and then ran the final 400m 72 seconds for an outstanding 800m split of 2:16.55, and made a nice exchange to Brian McManus. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus ran the first 400m in 69 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 74 seconds for an 800m split of 2:23.48, and made a good exchange to Kyle Friedler. imageimageimage

 Sophomore Kyle Friedler anchored the Northside 4x800m Relay to FIRST PLACE by running the first 400m in 66 seconds, and then running the final 400m in 69 seconds to WIN the 4x800m relay with an outstanding 800m split of 2:15.06 for an official time of 9:10.59. Alex Ortiz, Sergio Soto, Brian McManus, and Kyle Friedler were awarded GOLD Medals for WINNING the Sophomore 4x800m Relay!!

 Dundee Crown finished in second place with an official time of 9:18.47. West Chicago finished in third place with an official time of 9:23.54. Larkin finished in fourth place with an official time of 9:32.92. St. Charles North finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:47.29. Elmwood Park finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9:55.23.

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Senior Harry Winters ran an 800m split of 2:47.01 on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman George McCoy ran a personal best 800m split of 2:36.54 on the second leg of the relay. George McCoy has dropped ten seconds since the St. Viator Invitational (2:46). Northside Freshman Sebastien Vondrak ran a personal best 800m split of 3:05.27 on the third leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Justin Bologna anchored the Mustangs with a 2:54.10 800m split for an official time of 11:22.92.
