 On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the Northside Varisty Men and Sophomore Boys Team traveled to Bensenville, Illinois to Bison Stadium for the Fenton Bison Indoor Classic. 

 Fenton is the home of the Metro Suburban Conference Track and Field Champions. Fenton has won the Metro Suburban Conference Track & Field Championships, two of the last four years, and famous alumni include Olympian Jim Spivey, and All American Chris Siemers.

 Fenton is a special venue, and a great atmosphere for Track & Field. The P.A. announcer makes all the Teams feel welcome, and gives scoring updates after every event. The announcer also lets the crowd know the height of the High Jump and Pole Vault cross bar throughout the evening competition.

 Fenton also features a 135 yards track. Athletes have the priviledge of knowing their racing splits every 135 yards for 26 laps in the Two miles run.

 All of the events are in Yards at Fenton. As a result, the athletes race 3,510 yards for the Two Miles run, which is actually 3,209.54 Meters. The athletes race 1,755 yards for the mile, which is actually 1,604.772 Meters. The athletes race 880 yards for the half-mile, which is actually 804.672 Meters. The athletes race 440 yards for the quarter, which is actually 402.336 Meters. The athletes race 220 yards for the 200, which is actually 201.168 Meters.

 The Fenton Bison Indoor Classic featured DePaul Rams, Immaculate Conception College Prep, Chicago Northside College Prep, and host Fenton.

 Individual Events were scored 6-4-3-2-1, and Relays were scored 6-4-2.

 In the Varsity Pole Vault, Northside Senior Brendan Powers won it with a vault of 8'0.

 In the Varsity Shot Put, Northside Junior Jacob Cosby finished in second place with a throw of 39'0. Northside Junior Matthew Kosova finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a throw of 31'7. Northside Junior Christian Guerrero threw a personal best 29'7.

 In the Sophomore Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Matthew Gardner won it with a throw of 34'0.

 In the Varsity High Jump, Northside Junior Jacob Cosby finished in second place with a jump of 5'6.

 In the Varsity Long Jump, ICCP's Orwell won it with a jump of 19'3. Northside Senior Garret Barch finished in second place with a jump of 18'4. ICCP's Whelan finished in third place with a jump of 18'2. DePaul College Prep's Tsougna finished in fourth place with a jump of 17'9. ICCP's Simmons finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 16'11. Northside Junior Brian McManus jumped an outstanding 16'10. Northside Senior Steven Kataba jumped a personal best 16'4. Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt jumped a personal best 15'6. Northside Junior Jack Nolan jumped an official distance of 14'8.

 In the Varsity Triple Jump, Northside Senior Garret Barch won it with a personal best jump of 37'8. An ICCP jumper finished in second place with a jump of 31'9. Northside Junior Jack Nolan finished in third place with a jump of 31'1. An ICCP jumper finished in fourth place with a jump of 29'4.

 Northside had no entries in Sophomore Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump.

 In the Varsity 4x880 Yards Relay, Northside WON it with an official time of 9:33.66. Northside Sophomore Charlie Guthmann ran a 2:25.00 880 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Charlie Guthmann ran 135 yards splits of 22, 23, 23, 22, 23, and then ran the final 135 yards in 22 seconds and made a nice exchange to Sergio Soto. Northside Junior Sergio Soto ran a 2:21.29 880 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Sergio Soto ran 135 yards splits of 19, 21, 23, 22, 23, 22, and then ran the final 135 yards in 21 seconds, and made a good exchange to Troy Hu. Northside Senior Troy Hu ran a 2:21.03 880 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Troy Hu ran 135 yards splits of 20, 20, 22, 22, 24, 22, and then ran the final 135 yards in 21 seconds, and made a nice exchange to Jacob Yosowoitz. Northside Sophomore Jacob Yosowitz anchored Northside to VICTORY with a 2:26.34 880 yards split for an official time of 9:33.66. Jacob Yosowitz ran 135 yards splits of 20, 20, 22, 23, 24, 23, and then cruised the final 135 yards to victory in 24.34 seconds to secure vital points for the Mustangs. Fention finished in second place with an official time of 9:58.95. ICCP finished in third place to complete the scoring.

 In the Sophomore 4x880 Yards Relay, Fenton won it. Northside finished in second place with an official time of 10:32.18. Northside Freshman John Kim ran the first leg of the relay in a 2:29.31 880 yards split, and made a nice exchange to Ian Shimandle. Northside Freshman Ian Shimandle ran the second leg of the relay in a 2:45.29 880 yards split, and made a good exchange to Kris Ushijima. Northside Freshman Kris Ushijima ran the third leg of the relay in a 2:45.23 880 yards split, and made a nice exchange to Kyle Lowenthal. Northside Sophomore Kyle Lowenthal anchored Northside to SECOND place with a 2:32.35 880 yards split for an official time of 10:32.18. ICCP finished in third place to complete the scoring.

 In the Varsity 4x135 Yards Relay, ICCP won it. Fenton finished in second place. Northside finished in THIRD place to complete the scoring with an official time of 1:08.70. Northside Junior Jacob Cosby ran a 16.12 135 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Junior Brandon Banas ran a 16.78 135 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Osazee Osaghae ran a 17.75 135 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Carel Jones anchored Northside to THIRD place with a 17.73 135 yards split for an official time of 1:08.70. DePaul College Prep finished in fourth place.

 The Sophomore 4x135 Yards Relay was scratched because Freshman Jayson Coy and Sophomore Guy Lohoua did not show up to the meet. Northside only had 2 legs of the relay present at the meet.

 In the Varsity 3200m, Northside Senior Arjuna Lemke ran the first mile in 5:55, and then ran the final mile in 6:26 for an official time of 12:21.00. Lemke dropped 12 seconds from Evanston (12:33). Northside Junior Jack Webster ran the first mile in 6:03, and then ran the final mile in 6:29 for a season best time of 12:32.00.

 In the Sophomore 3200m, Northside Freshman Daniel Panaganiban DROPPED 16 seconds (13:44) to finish in FIFTH place to complete the scoring with an official time of 13:28.00. Daniel Panaganiban ran the first mile in 6:46, and then ran the final mile in a NEGATIVE split of 6:42 for a personal best time of 13:28. Northside Sophomore Justin Bologna ran the first mile in 6:56, and then ran the second mile in 7:29 for an official time of 14:25.00.

 In the Varsity 50 Yards High Hurdles, Northside had a BIG day, and took FIVE out of the Top SIX places! Northside Senior Garret Barch finished in FIRST place with an official time of 7.00. Northside Senior Justin Washington finished in SECOND place with an official time of 7.10. An ICCP hurdler finished in third place. Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt finished in FOURTH place with a personal best time of 8.30. Northside Junior Jack Nolan finished in FIFTH place to complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 8.68. Northside Junior Christian Guerrero finished in SIXTH place with an official time of 8.96.

 In the Sophomore 50 Yards High Hurdles, Northside Sophomore Xan Quang won it with a personal best time of 11.85. Northside Sophomore Asher Rappaport, Freshman Jayson Coy, and Sophomore Elias Decker were scratched.

 In the Varsity 50 Yards Dash, A sprinter from ICCP won it with an official time of 5.80. Northside Freshman Osazee Osaghae was awarded second place with an official time of 5.93. Northside Senior Keith Jones won his heat, and finished in third place overall with an official time of 6.00. A sprinter from Fenton finished in fourth place. Northside Sophomore Carel Jones finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 6.40. Northside Junior Vladimir Andrade ran an official time of 7.23. Northside Junior Khizar Nandoliya ran an official time of 7.24.

  In the Sophomore 50 Yards Dash, Northside Freshman Norberto Nieves finished in third place with an official time of 6.50. Northside Sophomore Mason Sotomayor finished second in his heat, and in fifth place overall to complete the scoring with an official time of 6.82.

 In the Varsity 880 Yards Run, Northside Senior Philip Wdowiak won it with an official time of 2:26.60. Philip Wdowiak ran the first 67.50 yards in 8 seconds, and then ran 135 yards splits of 21, 21, 25, 23, 25, and then ran the final 135 yards in a NEGATIVE split of 22 seconds to win the 880 yards run and secure vital points for the Mustangs.

 In the Sophomore 880 Yards Run, Northside Freshman Norberto Nieves finished in SECOND place with an official time of 2:32.20. Northside Freshman Ian Shimandle ran a personal beast time of 3:04.90.

 In the Varsity 4x270 Yards Relay, ICCP won it with an official time of 2:13.40. Northside finished in SECOND place with an official time of 2:14.80. Northside Sophomore Carel Jones ran the first 270 yards in a 33.74 split, and made a nice exchange to Brandon Banas. Northside Junior Brandon Banas ran the second leg of the relay in a 33.80 270 yards split, and made a good exchange to Justin Washington. Northside Senior Justin Washington ran the third leg of the relay in a 32.51 270 yards split, and made a perfect exchange to Keith Jones. Northside Senior Keith Jones shoe exploded open on the first turn, and Jones handled the situation perfectly, and anchored Northside to SECOND place with a 34.35 270 yards split for an official time of 2:14.80. Fenton finished in third place to complete the scoring. DePaul College Prep finished in fourth place.

 In the Varsity 440 Yards Dash, Northside Senior Troy Hu won it with an official time of 61.70. Northside Junior Brandon Banas ran an official time of 66.15.

 In the Sophomore 440 Yards Run, Northside Sophomore Mason Sotomayor WON it with an official time of 66.50. Northside Freshman Daniel Panaganiban ran an official time 71.08. Northside Sophomore Justin Bologna ran an official time of 76.98.

 In the Varsity 50 Yards Low Hurdles, Northside Senior Garret Barch WON it with an official time of 6.80. ICCP hurdler finished in second place with an official time of 7.00. Northside Senior Justin Washington finished in third place with an official time of 7.20. Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt finished in fourth place with an official time of 7.80. Northside Junior Jack Nolan finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 8.23. ICCP Hurdler finished in sixth place with an official time of 8.5. Northside Junior Christian Guerrero finished in seventh place with an official time of 8.60. 

 In the Sophomore 50 Yards Low Hurdles, Northside Sophomore Xan Quang finished in second place with an official tme of 10.91.

 In the Varsity Mile, Northside Junior Brian McManus came from behind to WIN it with an official time of 5:15.00. Northside Junior Sergio Soto finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 5:30.00. Northside Sophomore Charlie Guthmann ran an outstanding time of 5:32.00.

 In the Sophomore Mile, Northside Freshman John Kim finished in second place with an official time of 5:33.00. Northside Sophomore Kyle Lowenthal finished in fourth place with an official time of 5:40.00. Northside Freshman Kris Ushijimia ran an official time of 5:51.00.

 In the Varsity 220 Yards Dash, Northside Senior Keith Jones WON it with an official time of 25.30. Northside Junior Jacob Cosby ran an official time of 28.28. Northside Junior Christian Guerrero ran an official time of 28.80. Northside Junior Vladimir Andrade ran an official time of 32.14. Northside Junior Khizar Nandoliya ran an official time of 32.50.

 In the Sophomore 220 Yards Dash, Northside Sophomore Mason Sotomayor finished in third place with an official time of 30.00.

 In the Varsity 4x405 Yards Dash, Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt ran an impressive 54.52 405 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Senior Steven Kataba ran an outstanding 55.75 405 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jacob Yosowitz ran an outstanding 56.87 405 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Senior Philip Wdowiak anchored Northside to Victory with an impressive 55.02 405 yards split for an official time of 3:42.16. ICCP finished in second place with an official time of 3:45.00. Fenton finished in third place.

The Northside Varsity Men Won the meet with 101 points, and posted victories over 2. ICCP, 3. Fenton, and 4. Depaul. The Northside Varsity had a record of 3-0 on the day, and will travel to the University of Chicago on Sunday, March 20, 2016 for the Indoor City Championships.

 On Saturday, March 5, 2016, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Maine East High School for the 50th Annual Blue Demon Invitational. It was the Mustangs third appearance in Northside history at the Blue Demon Invitational.

 Former All State 800m runner, and Head Coach of the Maine East Track & Field Team, Scott Schultes, invited Northside to be a part of the 50th Annual Blue Demon Invitational. The meet is limited to ten Teams, and Northside accepted the invitation to be a part of a great indoor meet.

 Maine East has a long history of hosting the best Track meets in the Central Suburban league. The competition is always outstanding. They have also hosted Indoor Pentathlons at the start of every indoor track season. The Track is 160m and allows athletes to use 1/8 Pyramid spikes. Maine East also features upper deck stadium seating. Maine East Alumni include Hillary Clinton. 

 The 50th Annual Blue Demon Invitational featured Deerfield, Glenbard East, Leyden, Maine West, New Trier, Northside, Schaumburg, Northridge, Vernon Hills, and host Maine East.

 Entries were limited to two athletes per event in the Varsity division. The meet featured four Sophomore-Freshman events, the Shot Put, 4x800m Relay, 4x160m Relay, and 4x400m Relay.  

 Medals were awarded to the top six athletes or Relays in each event.

 Individual events and relays were scored on the following point scale: 10-8-6-4-2-1.

 Northside scored 67 points, and posted victories over: 5. Maine West (61 points), 6. Leyden (56 points), 7. Schuamburg (53 points), 8. Maine East (37 points), 9. Glenbard East (29 points), 10. North Ridge (21 points). The Chicago Northside Mustangs had a record of 6-3 on the day!

 Northside had a BIG day in ALL of the relays.

 First, the Varsity 4x160m Relay BROKE the SCHOOL RECORD (1:19.50) with an official time of 1:16.70. Northside Sophomore Nicholas Brown ran a 20.05 160m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Steven Kataba. Senior Steven Kataba ran a 18.79 160m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Justin Washington. Northside Senior Justin Washington ran a 18.96 160m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Keith Jones. Northside Senior Keith Jones anchored Northside to FIRST PLACE with an impressive 18.61 160m split to BREAK THE SCHOOL RECORD with an official time of 1:16.70. The Chicago Northside Mustangs also came very close to the Stadium record!

 Nicholas Brown, Steven Kataba, Justin Washington, and Keith Jones were awarded GOLD MEDALS for finishing in FIRST place overall in the 4x160m Relay. Deerfield finished in second place with an official time of 1:18.20. Vernon Hills finished in third place with an official time of 1:18.3. Glenbard East and Leyden finished in a fourth place tie with an official time of 1:18.9. Schaumburg finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 1:19.1. 

 Northside dropped 2.80 seconds from the Niles North Viking Invitational (1:19.50) to BREAK THE SCHOOL RECORD with an official time of 1:16.70. Nicholas Brown, Steven Kataba, Justin Washington, and Keith Jones will receive watermelons for breaking the school record in the 4x160m Relay.

  In the Sophomore 4x160m Relay, Glenbard East completed the scoring by finishing in sixth place with an official time of 1:24.3. Northside finished in seventh place with an official time of 1:25.10. Northside Sophomore Carel Jones ran a personal best 160m split of 19.94 on the first leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Norberto Nieves. Freshman Norberto Nieves ran an outstanding 160m split of 21.29 on the second leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Mason Sotomayor. Sophomore Mason Sotomayor ran a personal best 160m split of 21.81 on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Osazee Osaghae. Freshman Osazee Osaghae anchored Northside to 2nd place in their heat, and in seventh place overall with an outstanding 21.69 160m split for an official time of 1:25.10.   

 Northside Sprints Coach Matthew Madera and the Chicago Northside Sprinters also earned MEDALS in the 50 yd Dash, 400m Dash, 200m Dash, and 4x400m Relay! 

 The next goal for the Northside Varsity sprinters will be to break the school record in the 4x200m Relay (1:33.16) at the Indoor City Championships and/or during the outdoor season.  

 In 2014, Brian McManus, Christian Thorsberg, Kyle Friedler, and Alex Ortiz finished in sixth place in the Sophomore 4x800m Relay with an official time of 9:59.02 at the Maine East Invitational.

 In 2016 (3 years later), the Varsity 4x800m Relay featured three athletes from that 2014 Sophomore Relay, and the time drop from the 2014 Maine East Invitational to the 2016 Maine East Invitational was ONE MINUTE and 20.42 SECONDS! 8:38.60! 

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Vernon Hills won it with an outstanding time of 8:38.20. The Chicago Northside Mustangs finished in SECOND place with a season best time of 8:38.60. On the first leg of the relay, Northside Captain Danny Rosen ran 160m splits of 24, 24, 25, 25, and 26.64 for an 800m split of 2:04.64, and made a nice exchange to Captain Kyle Friedler. Junior Kyle Friedler ran 160m splits of 24, 24, 26, 27, and 26.13 for an 800m split of 2:07.13, and made a good exchange to Brian McManus. Junior Brian McManus ran 160m splits of 24, 27, 28, 30, and 28.39 for an 800m split of 2:17.39, and made a perfect exchange to Captain Alex Ortiz. Junior Alex Ortiz anchored the Chicago Northside Mustangs to SECOND place with 160m splits of 25, 25, 26, 27, and 26.08 for an 800m split of 2:09.08 for an official time of 8:38.60. Danny Rosen, Kyle Friedler, Brian McManus, and Alex Ortiz were awarded SILVER MEDALS for finishing in second place overall. New Trier finished in third place with an official time of 8:52.8. Northridge finished in fourth place with an official time of 9:14.6. Leyden finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:21.2. Maine West finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9:33.30.

 The Chicago Northside Mustangs are currently ranked #9 in Illinois in the 4x800m Relay on the Class 2A Leaderboard.

 The Chicago Northside 4x800m Relay will definitely qualify for the STATE Championships from the IHSA North Lawndale Class 2A Sectional in May 2016. Eight athletes go to the STATE Track & Field Championships when a relay qualifies for STATE. Northside has strong depth in the 4x800m Relay, and is excited about the development of the Sophomore 4x800m Relay.

 Prior to Saturday, the fastest time a Northside Sophomore 4x800m Relay had run this season was a 11:06.00 (Spartan Indoor Classic). That changed dramatically at Maine East.  

 In the Sophomore 4x800m Relay, Northside finished 3rd in their heat, and in fifth place overall with an outstanding time of 9:48.30. The Northside Sophomore 4x800m Relay dropped ONE MINUTE and 18 seconds frorm the Spartan Indoor Classic! 11:06.00 to 9:48.30! 

 In the Sophomore 4x800m Relay, Deerfield won it with an official time of 9:09.4. Leyden finished in second place with an official time of 9:26.80. Maine West finished in third place with an official time of 9:30.0. Venon Hills finished in fourth place with an official time of 9:44.10. The Chicago Northside Mustangs finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:48.30. Glenbard East finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9:49.50. Freshman Norberto Nieves, Sophomore Kyle Lowenthal, and Sophomore phenoms Charlie Guthmann and Jacob Yosowitz were awarded MEDALS for finishing in fifth place overall.

 On the first leg of the Sophomore 4x800m Relay, Northside Freshman Norberto Nieves ran 160m splits of 28, 29, 29, 31 and a NEGATIVE split of 30.37 seconds for an 800m split of 2:26.63, and made a good exchange to Kyle Lowenthal. Northside Sophomore Kyle Lowenthal ran 160m splits of 28, 28, 34, 33 and a NEGATIVE split of 29.22 seconds for an 800m split of 2:32.22, and made a nice exchange to Charlie Guthmann. Northside Sophomore phenom Charlie Guthmann ran impressive 160m splits of 28, 29, 29, 29 and a NEGATIVE split of 28.48 seconds for an 800m split of 2:23.48, and made a perfect exchange to Jacob Yosowitz. Northside Sophomore Jacob Yosowitz anchored the Chicago Northside Mustangs to the MEDAL STAND with 160m splits of 28, 29, 31, 33, and then ran the final 160m in an impressive NEGATIVE split of 24.84 seconds to outkick Glenbard East (9:49.50) with a 2:25.84 800m split for an official time of 9:48.30.

The athletes listed above have earned a Varsity letter by scoring a Varsity point in a Track meet.

 In the High Jump, Northside Junior Jacob Cosby made three outstanding attempts at the opening height of 5'4, but was unable to clear it. Northside Sophomore Asher Rappaport scrratched. Schaumburg's Scott finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a leap of 5'6.

 In the Shot Put, Northside Junior Jacob Cosby finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an outstanding throw of 40'10". Northside Junior Matthew Kosova had a great throw of 32'3. 

 In the Long Jump, Northside Junior Garret Barch scratched after a rurnway injury. Deerfiled's Wolski finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 18'8. Northside Junior Brian McManus had an outstanding jump of 16'1

 In the Triple Jump, Northside Senior Keith Jones scratched. Northside Sophomore Brandon Banas scratched. Northridge's Bland finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 37'4.75.

 In the Pole Vault, Northside Senior Brendan Powers missed two meets, and is working on getting himself back to his peformance level at Evanston. Powers made three outstanding attempts at 8'0, but was unable to clear it. Schaumburg's Skombis finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a vault of 9'6.

 Northside scored one point in the Field Events at the Maine East Blue Demon Invitational.

 In the 3200m run, Northside Freshman Kristopher Ushijima dropped 11 seconds with a PERSONAL BEST time of 12:03.84. Kristopher Ushijima ran the first mile in 5:50, and then ran the final mile in 6:13 for an official time of 12:03.84. Northside Senior Troy Hu was scratched.

 In the 50 Yard High Hurdles Prelims, Northside Senior Garret Barch finished in first place in his heat to QUALIFY for the FINALS with an outstanding time of 7.0. Northside Senior Justin Washington finished second in his heat to QUALIFY for the FINALS with an outstanding time of 7.1.

 In the 50 Yard High Hurdles Finals, Northside Senior Justin Washington hurdled an outstanding time of 7.1 to finish in THIRD place overall. Justin Washington was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in third place overall. Northside Senior Garret Barch finished in FOURTH place with an official time of 7.1. Garret Barch was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in fourth place overall. Northside scored 10 points in the 50 Yard High Hurdles!

 In the 50 Yard Dash Prelims, Northside Senior Keith Jones QUALIFIED for the FINALS by finishing in second place in his heat with an official time of 5.90. Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt ran a season best time of 6.40.

 In the 50 Yard Dash Finals, Northside Senior Keith Jones finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 6.0. Keith Jones was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in sixth place overall.

 In the 800m run, Leyden's Szelazek won it with an official time of 2:00.40. Northside Senior Danny Rosen ran 160m splits of 23, 23, 25, 25, and than ran the final 160m in 25.10 seconds to finish in second place with an official time of 2:01.10. Danny Rosen was awarded a SILVER MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Rosen is currently ranked #1 on the Class 2A Leaderboard for the 800m run. New Trier's Oh finished in third place with an official time of 2:02.30. Vernon Hill's Caleb finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:03.30. New Trier's O'Reiley finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:05.8. One athlete in the initial Top 6 was disqualified for an undisclosed reason. Vernon Hill's Krashevsky was then awarded sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 2:09.3. Northside Junior Sergio Soto ran an official time of 2:19.75. Sergio Soto ran 160m splits of 26, 28, 29, 29, and then ran a NEGATIVE split of 27.75 for an official time of 2:19.75. 

 In the 400m Dash, Northside Senior Steven Kataba won his heat, and finished in sixth place overall to complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 56.70. Northside Junior Jacob Cosby ran an official time of 60.00.

 In the 50 Yard Low Hurdle Prelims, Northside Senior Justin Washington QUALIFED for the FINALS by finishing in second place in his heat with an official time of 6.50. Northside Senior Garret Barch QUALIFIED for the FINALS by finishing in second place in his heat with an official time of 7.10.

 In the 50 Yard Low Hurdle Finals, Northside Senior Justin Washington finished in SECOND place with an official time of 7.00. Justin Washington was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Northside Senior Garret Barch scratched from the Finals due to a Long Jump runway injury.

 In the 1600m run, Leyden's Szelazek won it with an official time of 4:39.50. Northside Junior Kyle Friedler ran an incredible race from start to finish. Kyle Friedler outkicked Northridge's Conroy (4:41.70) to finish in SECOND place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 4:40.70. Friedler ran the first 800m in 2:20, and then ran the final 800m in an EVEN split of 2:20 to finish in second place with an official time of 4:40.70. Kyle Friedler was awarded a SILVER MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Kyle Friedler also passed Connor O'Shea for the tenth fastest 1600m time in Northside history! Friedler is now within one second of Alumni legend Wesley Laytham (4:39.30). New Trier's Jacobs finished in fourth place with an official time of 4:44.90. Deerfield's Bickmore finished in fifth place with an official time of 4:45.70. Northside Junior Alex Ortiz ran a pure guts race from start to finish. Alex Ortiz dropped ten seconds (4:56) to reach the MEDAL STAND with a PERSONAL BEST time of 4:46.50. Alex Ortiz awesome performance secured vital points for the Mustangs. Alex Ortiz ran the first 800m in 2:22, and then ran the final 800m in 2:24 for an official time of 4:46.50. Alex Ortiz was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in sixth place overall. Alex Ortiz is now within 1 second of passing Alumni legend Simon Kafka on the Northside 1600m All Time list. Northside Captains Kyle Friedler and Alex Ortiz both had BIG days in the 1600m run. Northside scored 9 points in the 1600m run!

 In the 200m Dash, Northside Senior Keith Jones and Maine West's Robinson tied for third place with an official time of 24.10. The Maine West Head Coach, and Chicago Northside Head Coach were summoned to the official scorer's table to break the tie for purpose of awarding the third place medal. A coin toss was conducted to determine the winner of the Medal. Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon remembered the coin toss this year at the NFL Playoffs overtime game between the Green Bay Packers, and the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay Quarterback Aaron Rodgers regretted his decision not to call "Tails". Gordon made the decision to call "Tails", and won the coin toss! The third place medal was awarded to Keith Jones. Deerfield's Avenaim finished in fifth place with an official time of 24.30. New Trier's Johnson finished in sixth place to complete the scorfing with an official time of 24.40. Northside Junior Jacob Cosby ran an outstanding time of 25.70.

 In the 4x400m Relay, Northside Junior Jay Borgwardt ran an impressive 55.96 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Senior Troy Hu ran a 59.04 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Junior Sergio Soto ran a 63.63 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Junior Brian McManus ran a 59.55 400m split to anchor the Mustangs to fifth place overall with an official time of 3:58.30. Jay Borgwardt, Troy Hu, Sergio Soto, and Brian McManus were awarded MEDALS for placing fifth overall.

 In the Sophomore 4x400m Relay, Northside Sophomore Carel Jones ran an impressive 400m split of 59.52, and made a nice exchange to Norberto Nieves. Freshman Norberto Nieves ran a 400m split of 67.42, and made a good exchange to Charlie Guthmann. Sophomore Charlie Guthmann ran an outstanding 400m split of 60.61, and made a perfect exchange to Jacob Yosowitz. Sophomore Jacob Yosowitz anchored Northside to the MEDAL STAND with an impressive 59.25 400m split for an official time of 4:07.30. Carel Jones, Norberto Nieves, Charlie Guthmann, and Jacob Yosowitz were awarded MEDALS for placing fifth overall.

 The Northside Varsity and Sophomore TEAMs will travel to Bensenville, Illinois on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 for the Fenton Bison Indoor Classic.
