In the Varsity Weight-man 4x160m Relay, the crowd was on its feet at all times, and it was one of the most exciting finishes of the day. The Weight-man 4x160m relay consists of four super athletes that in addition to running in the relay, threw Shot Put from 24'0 to 40'0!

Glenbrook North (Rosenberg, Ryan, Spangel, Mantas) held off a surging Northside Relay on the final exchange to win it with an official time of 1:37.39. On the final exchange, Northside was very close to being disqualified for making the exchange outside of the zone, and colliding with the Glenbrook North runner. Despite a dropped baton on the final exchange, Northside came from behind to finish in SECOND with an official time of 1:37.66.

Unfortunately, Northside athletes did not run in the correct order in the relay. Cole Makuch was suppose to run the third leg of the relay, and Jack Webster was suppose to anchor the Weight-man 4x160m Relay. Athletes need to read the meet packet distibuted online before every meet. The Northside Throws Coach also needs to make sure athletes are running in the correct order in the relay. Otherwise, it was a good day.

Northside Junior Matthew Gardner ran an impressive 23.15 160m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Matthew Kosova. Northside Senior Matthew Kosova ran a 29.06 160m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Jack Webster. Northside Senior Jack Webster came from behind with an outstanding 22.69 160m split, but the exchange was a problem. Cole Makuch took too many steps, and Northside collided with Glenbrook North, and the final exchange was barely inside the zone. Cole Makuch picked up the baton, and ran an impressive 22.76 160m split to anchor the Mustangs to SECOND place for an official time of 1:37.66.

After the Weight-man 4x160m Relay, Team scores were Highland Park 83, Glenbrook North 77, Northside 46.
