After incredible performances in the Varsity 100m Dash at the Eric Nelson Classic, the Northside Coaching Staff announced that Daniel Agbeo, Brandon Banas, Carel Jones, and Gabe Piechnik will run on the Mustangs Varsity 4x100m Relay on April 8, 2017 at the Niles West Paul Gans Invitational.

At the Eric Nelson Classic, in the 100m Dash, Northside Senior Brandon Banas ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 12.34 to finish in tenth place overall. Northside Junior Gabe Piechnik ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 12.41 to finish in 13th place overall. Northside Freshman phenom Chris Jackson ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 12.53. Northside Junior Carel Jones ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 12.56.

In the 100m Dash, Northside Freshman Cameron Boulanger ran a personal best time of 13.25. Northside Junior Mason Sotomayor ran a season best time of 14.05. Northside Junior Osama Hassen ran a personal best time of 14.06. Northside Freshman Jeronimo Najarro ran a personal best time of 14.29.

 The 3200m run at the Eric Nelson Classic is named after Northside school record holder and IHSA State Qualifier Kyle Friedler. 

 In the Kyle Friedler 3200m run at the Eric Nelson Classic, Von Steuben Senior Jonathan Fernandez won it with an outstanding time of 10:30.44. Jonathan Fernandez will be awarded a Plaque for winning the 3200m run. Lincoln Park Sophomore William Meyer finished in second place with an official time of 11:02.76. Northside Senior Sergio Soto dropped 22 seconds (11:30.00) to finish in third place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 11:08.61. Sergio Soto will be awarded a MEDAL for placing third place overall. Chicago Bulls Sophomore Renato Gonzalez finished in fourth place with an official time of 11:13.23. Northside Freshman Jalen Miron dropped 17 seconds (12:04, XC) to finish in fifth place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 11:47.81. Jalen Miron earned a Varsity letter in Track by scoring points in a Varsity meet. Northside Sophomore Ian Shimandle dropped 14 seconds (12:04.30) to finish in sixth place to complete the scoring with a PERSONAL BEST time of 11:50.38.

 Northside Senior Brian McManus finished in eighth place with an official time of 12:18.10. Northside Freshman Payton Kane dropped 29 seconds (12:47, XC) to finish in ninth place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 12:18.14.

 The Northside 4x100m Relay featured four Freshman, including Freshman phenom Chris Jackson, Cameron Boulanger, Jeronimo Najarro, and Josh Burns. The young guns had a BIG day, and scored in the Varsity 4x100m Relay by finishing in sixth place out of 11 schools, against experienced Juniors and Seniors.

 In the 4x100m Relay, Leo won it with an official time of 45.32. Chicago Bulls finished in second place with an official time of 45.94. University High finished in third place with an official time of 46.26. Amundsen finished in fourth place with an official time of 49.07. Christ the King finished in fifth place with an official time of 49.36. Chicago Northside (Chris Jackson, Cameron Boulanger, Jeronimo Najarro, and Josh Burns) finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 50.02. Chris Jackson, Cameron Boulanger, Jeronimo Najarro, and Josh Burns earned a Varsity letter by scoring in a Varsity Track meet. Von Steuben finished in seventh place with an official time of 51.37. Lincoln Park finished in eighth place with an official time of 52.58. Intrinsic finished in ninth place with an official time of 53.98. Cristo Rey Jesuit finished in tenth place with an official time of 57.46.

 The 4x800m Relay at the Eric Nelson Classic is named after School Record holders, IHSA STATE FINALS qualifiers, and Alumni legends Patrick Brennan, Malcolm Grba, Danny Rosen, and Simon Kafka.

 In the 4x800m Relay, University High won it with an official time of 9:09.70. Lincoln Park finished in second place with an official time of 9:21.17. Amundsen finished in third place with an official time of 9:31.96. 

 The Chicago Northside 4x800m Relay featured the one-two punch of Sophomores John Kim and Norberto Nieves.

 John Kim lead off the relay with a personal best 800m split of 2:22, and made a nice exchange to Norberto Nieves. Norberto Nieves ran an impressive 800m split of 2:17, and made a good exchange to Seth Karall.

 In the 4x800m Relay, Northside Freshman Seth Karall ran an impressive 2:28 800m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Jack Vasilopoulos. Northside Freshman Jack Vasilopoulos anchored CHICAGO NORTHSIDE VARSITY to FOURTH place with a personal best 800m split of 2:25 for an outstanding 4x800m Relay time of 9:33.71. Leo finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:39.41. Steinmetz finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9:43.05.

 Von Steuben finished in seventh place with an official time of 9:48.78. Intrinsic finished in eighth place with an official time of 11:13.69. Chicago Bulls College Prep finished in ninth place with an official time of 11:31.82.

 The Long Jump at the Eric Nelson Classic is named after School Record holder, IHSA State Qualifier, and Alumni legend Josh Williams.

 The addition of City Champion swimmer Gabe Piechnik to the Northside Track Team had an immediate impact for the Mustangs in the Long Jump. Northside hurdler Jay Borgwardt also had a BIG day in his first Long Jump competition of the season.

 In the Josh Williams Long Jump at the Eric Nelson Classic, Northside Junior Gabe Piechnik finished in fifth place overall with a personal best jump of 18'2.50. Northside Senior Jay Borgwardt finished in sixth place overall to complete the scoring with a personal best jump of 17'7.50.

 Northside Freshman Chris Jackson had a leap of 16'5.00. Northside Freshman Josh Burns had a personal best jump of 16'04.00. Northside Captain Nick Brown jumped an outstanding 15'10.00. Northside Junior Elias Decker jumped an outstanding 15'00.00. Northside Junior Mason Sotomayor jumped a personal best 14'03.25.
