On Monday, February 18, 2008, the Northside Varsity Men and Varsity Women Track & Field Teams Traveled to De La Salle High School for the President's Day Invitational. It is one of the largest and most competive meets in Chicago, and 2007 IHSA State runner's up, East St.Louis High School, traveled all the way to Chicago for the meet, and left at 2:30 am on Monday morning to make it to De La Salle in time for the President's Day Invitational. The meet also featured Marshall High School, Urban Prep, Robeson, Dunbar, Marian Catholic, Hancock, Kelly, Kenwood, Corliss, Hubbard, and Von Steuben.

It appears the Northside Varsity Women won the meet, and the Varsity Men where one of the top three Teams as well. However, De La Salle Head Coach McMiller has asked all schools to wait until his official score keeper gets out of the Hospital on Thursday, to score the meet, and does not want anyone else from De La Salle to score the meet but his longtime score keeper. All Teams have agreed to respect his wishes. The result sheets will be waiting for the official score keeper on Thursday to make the final tabulations. As a result, the Mustangs will also wait until Thursday to celebrate an awesome meet for both the Varsity Men and Women squads. However, Medals were distributed for the top 3 places in all events. Team Awards will be announced on Thursday.
