On February 26, 2009, Northside Sophomore Wesley Laytham became the newest member of the 155 lbs Bench Press Club.  On Saturday, February 21, 2009, the Northside Varsity Women, and Junior Varsity Women traveled to Chicago Heights, Illinois for the Bloom Trail Invitational.

 The Bloom Trail Invitational featured Oswego East, Bloom, Northside College Prep, Thornton Fractional North, Rich East, Simeon, King College Prep, Jefferson High School, Streaks, and Wildcats.

   The Northside Varsity Women finished in third place (77 points), and posted victories over Thornton Fractional North (59 points), Rich East (36 points), Streaks (29 points), Simeon (16 points), Wildcats (13 points), King College Prep (6 points), and Jefferson High School (0 points). The Northside Varsity Women now have a record of 16-5!!!

   In the Varsity Pole Vault, Bloom's Jennifer Hill won it with a vault of 8'6.

   In the Varsity High Jump, Rich East's Danielle Cook won it with a jump of 4'10.

   In the Junior Varsity High jump, Sophomore Robin Doherty jumped a personal best 4'4 to place second overall. Robin Doherty was awarded a medal for placing second overall. 

   In the Varsity Long Jump, Thornton Fractional North's Javell Thompson won it with a jump of 15'00.50. Northside Freshman Anatasia Rhodes finished in third place overal with a jump of 13'7. Anatasia Rhodes was awarded a medal for placing third overall. Northside Senior Gayatri Satam finished in fifth place with a jump of 13'1.

   In the Varsity Triple Jump, Thornton Fractional North's Javell Thompson won it with a jump of 33'00. Northside Senior Maria Torres finished in second place with an outstanding jump of 32'00. Maria Torres was awarded a Medal for placing second overall. Northside Senior Gayatri Satam finished in third place with an outstanding jump of 28'00.

  In the Varsity Shot Put, Rich East's Jasmine Murphy won it with a throw of 32'09.50. Northside Sophomore Caeleigh Renkosiak finished in fifth place with an outstanding throw of 28'11.75. Northside Sophomore Katie Dugan threw an outstanding 25'00.

  In the Junior Varsity Shot Put, Tiffany Tran placed fourth overall with an outstanding throw of 20'10.50. Senior Katy Ceisel placed sixth overall with an outstanding throw of 18'05.00.

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi, Junior Bessie Nolan, Senior Ani Zotti, and Senior Anna Parks finished in second place with an outstanding time of 11:39.16. Achufusi, Nolan, Zotti, and Parks were awarded a Medal for placing second overall.

 In the Varsity 55m Hurdles, Northside Senior Jennifer Kane finished third overall with a time of 11.09. Jennifer Kane was awarded a Medal for placing third overall.

 In the Junior Varsity 55m Hurdles, Northside Sophomore Robin Doherty finished fourth overall with a time of 11.67.

 In the Varsity 3200m run, Northside Senior Ani Zotti finished in second place overall with an outstanding time of 13:24.62.

 In the 4x200m Relay, Northside Senior Jennifer Kane, Senior Janette Szestowicki, Senior Gayatri Satam, and Senior Maria Torres combined for a time of 2:14.44 to place sixth overall.   

 In the Varsity 600m run, Northside Freshman Waters Cahill finished in fourth plcace overall with an outstanding time of 1:51.99.

 In the Varsity 800m run, Northside Senior Anna Parks WON it with an outstanding time of 2:43.35.

 In the Varsity 400m run, Northside Senior Adaoara Achufusi finished in second place with an outstanding time of 69.61. 

 In the Varsity Mile, Northside Junior Bessie Nolan finished fourth overall with an outstanding time of 6:39.59.

 In the Varsity 4x400m Relay, Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi, Senior Maria Torres, Junior Bessie Nolan, and Senior Anna Parks combined for an outstanding time of 4:48 to place fourth overall.

 On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, the Northside College Prep Varsity Mens and Sophomore-Freshman Boys Track Team traveled to Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois for the Spartan Indoor Classic.  

 The Spartan Indoor Classic featured Highland Park, Maine West, Northside College Prep, and host Glenbrook North High School. 

 The meet was completed very efficiently, in only 2 hours, and had non-stop action on the Track, which put the crowd on their feet at all times, and created a fun atmosphere for all participating Teams. A special thanks to Glenbrook North Head Coach Rob Berg for hosting an oustanding meet.  

  It was also a very friendly atmosphere as several reunions took place throughout the meet. The starter was Ken Roy, and the head timer was Kevin Wright. Both meet officials were former high school Track coaches of Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon at Glenbrook North from 1986-1990.

  The meet was very tight between Glenbrook North and Northside College Prep for the Spartan Indoor Classic Title, and every point was detrimental to the outcome. Individual events were scored 5-3-2-1, and Relays were scored 5-3. The meet was scored on one level.

  In the Long Jump, Glenbrook North's Kwiatkowski won it with a jump of 17'11. Northside Senior Martin Melto finished in second place with a jump of 17'5. Glenbrook North's Haynes finished in third place with a jump of 17'4. Northside Senior John Konow jumped 15'9. Northside Freshman Derek Lin jumped 13'10.5. Northside Freshman Josh Williams jumped 13'1.25.

  In the Triple Jump, Northside Senior Martin Melto WON it with a personal best jump of 37'1. Glenbrook North's Haynes finished in second place with a jump of 36'8. Highland Park's Thomas finished in third place with a jump of 34'5. Highland Park's Rosenberg finished in fourth place with a jump of 34'4. Northside Freshman Derek Lin jumped 28'7. Northside Sophomore Ed Moreno jumped 28'0.50. Northside Freshman Mac Melto jumped a personal best 27'5.

  In the Shot Put, Highland Park's Worldman won it with a throw of 46'3.25. Maine West's Conneely finished in second place with a throw of 45'10.5. Glenbrook North's Park finished in third place with a throw of 44'10.25. Highland Park's Platt finished in fourth place with a throw of 44'9. Northside Senior Eric Nelson threw the shot put an outstanding 38'9.5. Northside Senior Ted Kalaw threw the shot put an outstanding 35'6. Northside Sophomore Damian Azubuike threw a personal best 33'11.5. Northside Senior Brandon Cooper threw a personal best 31'11. Northside Freshman Cody Rios threw a 31'8.5. Northside Sophomore Luke Kotowski threw a personal best 28'11.5. Northside Senior Lawrence Tran thew a 25'2.5. Northside Freshman Luis Mesa thew a personal best 24'1.    In the Pole Vault, Northside Junior Luke Sobieraj vaulted an outstanding 7'0.

  In the High Jump, the opening height was 4'4, and Northside College Prep had a record nine entries in the competition. Northside Freshman Josh Williams and Sophomore Neel Patel made outstanding attempts at 4'4, but were unable to clear it. Northside Freshman Dan Graham jumped 4'4. Northside Freshman Thomas Trieu jumped a personal best 4'4. Northside Sophomore Josh Pfest jumped an outstanding 4'8. Northside Sophomore Ed Moreno jumped a personal best 4'10. Northside Freshman Mac Melto jumped an outstanding 4'10. Highland Park's Smith jumped an outstanding 4'10. Glenbrook North's Nick Caeta finished in fourth place overall with a jump of 5'2. Northside Junior Hunter Speese jumped a personal best 5'4 to place third overall. Glenbrook North Kosma Kwiatkowski finished in second place with an outstanding jump of 5'10. Northside Senior Eric Nelson in his first competition of the season, with a new high jump approach, WON it with an outstanding jump of 6'0!!

  In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Junior Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss ran an outstanding 2:09 800m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Senior Jon Kittaka. Jon Kittaka ran a 2:24 800m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exhange to Junior Cooper Eben. Cooper Eben ran a 2:17 800m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Charlie Mesimore. Sophomore Charlie Mesimore anchored the Mustangs to victory over Glenbrook North with an outstanding 2:12 800m split, for a total time of 9:02.

 In the Junior Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Junior Peter Wilk ran a 2:40 800m split on the first leg of the relay. Junior James Rey ran a 2:43 800m split on the second leg of the relay. Senior Coleman Gailloreto ran a 2:53 800m split on the third leg of the relay. Senior Norman Lee ran a 2:50 800m split on the final leg of the relay, for a total time of 11:06.

  In the Sophomore-Freshman 4x800m Relay, Freshman Jusuf Skelic ran an outstanding 2:27 800m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Rhiday Pandya. Rhiday Pandya ran a 2:37 800m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Erik Zuehlke. Erik Zuehlke ran an oustanding 2:31 800m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Fahad Sarvari. Sophomore Fahad Sarvari anchored the Mustangs with an outstanding 2:31 800m split, for a total time of 10:06 to win the Sophomore-Freshman 4x800m Relay!

  In the 55m High Hurdles, Glenbrook North won it. Norhside Sophomore Hersh Perlmutter finished in second place with a personal best time of 9.60. Highland Park Hurdlers finished in third and fourth respectively. Northside Sophomore Khoa Nguyen hurdled a personal best time of 10.35. Freshman Thomas Trieu ran a personal best time of 11.11. Senior Nathan Michaelson ran an outstanding time of 11.29. Junior Andrew Czyszczon ran an outstanding time of 11.32. Northside Sophomore Josh Pfest dropped 1.22 seconds off his best time for a personal best time of 11.58. Northside Freshman Dan Graham ran an outstanding time of 11.90. Sophomore Neel Patel ran a time of 12.60.

 In the 50m Dash, Highland Park finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively, with outstanding times of 6.0, and 6.10. Glenbrook North finished in 3rd and 4th respectively, with outstanding times of 6.20 and 6.30. Northside Junior Hunter Speese finished in fifth place with an outstanding time of 6.40. Northside Junior Steven Burke ran an outstanding time of 6.80. Sophomore Luke Kotowski ran a personal best time of 6.93. Freshman Richard Do ran a personal best time of 6.94. Freshman Matt Hernandez ran a personal best time of 7.00. Senior James Speth ran a personal best time of 7.08. Sophomore Jameel Ahmed tied his personal best time with a 7.18. Freshman Luis Mesa ran a personal best time of 7.20. Sophomore Nico Salzetta ran a personal best time of 7.38. Freshman Derick Lin ran an outstanding time of 7.45.   In the 800m run, Highland Park's Derf won it with an outstanding time of 2:17. Northside Senior Brandon Cooper finished in second place with 160m splits of 26, 29, 29, 30, and 25 for an outstanding time of 2:19. Glenbrook North finished in third with a 2:24. Northside Senior Brian Chhun finished in fourth with 160m splits of 26, 30, 30, 29, and 30 for an outstanding time of 2:25. Northside Senior Simon Vecchioni finished in fifth with 160m splits of 26, 29, 30, 30 and 31 for an outstanding time of 2:26. Northside Junior Andrew Czyszczon ran 160m splits of 27, 30, 30, 32 and 28 for an outstanding time of 2:27. Northside Sophomore Luis Gaytan ran 160m splits of 28, 30, 31, 30 and 28 for a personal best time of 2:28. Freshman Juan Ringor ran a personal best time of 2:38. Sophomore Zach Rosenberg ran a personal best time of 2:44. Freshman Thomas Trieu ran a personal best time of 2:50.

  In the Varsity 4x160m Relay, Northside WON it over Glenbrook North, and Highland Park with a dramatic finish. Northside Junior Hunter Speese ran an outstanding 19.82 160m split on the first leg of the relay and made a perfect exchange to Junior Steven Burke. Steven Burke ran an outstanding 19.97 160m split and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Luke Sobieraj. Luke Sobieraj ran an outstanding 22.22 160m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Senior John Konow. John Konow ran an outstanding 20.57 160m split to anchor the Mustangs to Victory over Glenbrook North by a tenth of a second with a total time of 1:22.58!

  In the Sophomore-Freshman 4x160m Relay, Northside Freshman Matt Hernandez ran an outstanding 21.94 160m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Freshman Richard Do. Richard Do ran a 22.54 160m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Khoa Nguyen ran a 23.42 160m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Nico Salzetta anchored the Mustangs to a second place finish with an outstanding 23.62 160m split, for a total time of 1:31.53.

  In the 400m Dash, Glenbrook North's Andrew Harter won it with an outstanding time of 53.50. Highland Park finished in second and third respectively. Northside Freshman Mackenzie Melto finished in fourth with an outstanding time of 62.25. Northside Junior Peter Wilk ran an outstanding time of 64.44. Northside Sophomore Hersh Perlmutter ran an outstanding time of 65.72. Northside Freshman Josh Williams ran an outstanding time of 66.76. Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss ran the first 800m in 2:27, and then ran the final 800m in 2:28 for an outstanding time of 4:55. Northside Senior Jon Kittaka ran an outstanding time of 5:03.   In the 200m Dash, Northside Senior Martin Melto ran an outstanding time of 26.50. Senior Brian Chhun ran a time of 28.00. Senior Lawrence Tran ran a personal best time of 28.80. Freshman Josh Williams ran a time of 29.43. Sophomore Jameel Ahmed ran a personal best time of 29.76. Sophomore Khoa Nguyen dropped 1.32 seconds off his best time for a personal best time of 30.15. Freshman Matt Hernandez ran a 23.00 160m split on the third leg of the relay. Freshman Cody Rios anchored the Mustangs with an outstanding 24.21 160m split, for a total time of 1:32.21.

 In the Varsity 4x400m Relay, Senior Brandon Cooper ran a 61.46 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Senior Simon Vecchioni ran a 64.36 400m split ont he second leg of the relay. Junior Steven Burke ran a 59.87 400m split on the third leg of the relay, and Junior Hunter Speese anchored the Mustangs to third place with a 60.06 400m split for a total time of 4:05.75.

 In the Sophomore-Freshman 4x400m Relay, Freshman Mackenzie Melto ran a 61.95 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Sophomore Ed Moreno ran a 62.60 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Sophomore Nico Salzetta ran a 69.00 400m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Josh Pfest. Josh Pfest anchored the Mustangs to second place with a 63.00 400m split for a total time of 4:16.55.

 Glenbrook North won the meet with 47 points. Northside College Prep finished in second place with 44 points. Highland Park finished in third place with 40 points. Maine West finished in fourth place with 3 points. The Northside Varsity Men now have a record of 10-4!!

On Tuesday, February 17, 2009, the Northside Varsity Women and Junior Varsity Women traveled to Winnetka, Illinois for the New Trier Indoor Classic. The meet featured Loyola Academy, Northside College Prep, North Shore Country Day, Roosevelt, and host New Trier. 

In the Varsity division, the Northside Varsity Women shocked Loyola Academy with a 66 to 29 point victory!!! The Mustangs also posted victories over Roosevelt (9 points), and North Shore Country Day (2 points). New Trier held off the challenge from the suprising Mustangs to win the meet with a mere 82 points. The Northside Varsity Women now have a record of 9-3!!, and will be big favorites heading into the Bloom Trail Varsity Invitational on Saturday, February 21, 2009. 

In the Junior Varsity division, New Trier won the meet with 88 points, and posted victories over Loyola (71 points), Northside College Prep (23 points), Roosevelt (6 points), and North Shore Country Day (0 points). The Northside Junior Varsity Girls started their season with a 2-2 record. The Northside Junior Varsity will also travel to Chicago Heights on Saturday to compete for Medals at the Bloom Trail Junior Varsity Invitational. 

New Trier used the following point scale to score the meet: Individual events were scored 6-4-3-2-1, and Relays were scored 6-4-2.

In the Varsity Shot Put, New Trier's McAuley won it with a throw of 31'4.5. Roosevelt's Miscke finished in second with a personal best throw of 27'6.75. Northside Sophomore Caeleigh Renkosiak finished in third with an outstanding throw of 27'5.75. Northside Sophomore Katie Dugan finished in fourth with a throw of 26'1.5.

In the Junior Varsity Shot Put, Loyola Academy's Azubuike won it with a throw of 23'4.5. New Trier's Walsdorf finished in second with a throw of 21'8.75. Northside College Prep Tiffany Tran threw a personal best 21'0.25 to place third overall. Loyola Academy's Marino finished in fourth with a throw of 16'10. Roosevelt's Wright finished in fifth with a throw of 14'3.5.

In the Varsity Long Jump, New Trier's Cash won it with a jump of 14'8. Northside Senior Gayatri Satam finished in second place with an outstanding jump of 12'8. Northside Senior Maria Zdunek finished in third place with a jump of 11'5.

In the Junior Varsity Long Jump, New Trier's Showe won it with a jump of 12'6. New Trier's Sarp finished in second with a jump of 11'11. Loyola Academy's Mokeleba finished in third with a jump of 11'9.5. Loyola Academy's Hermon finished in fourth with a jump of 11'3. New Trier's Munshi finished in fifth with a jump of 10'9. Northside Sophomore Lyndsey Shallberg jumped an outstanding 10'1.   

In the Varsity Triple Jump, Northside Senior Maria Torres WON it with a jump of 33'3! New Trier's Brown finished in second place with a jump of 30'3. Northside Senior Gayatri Satam finished in third place with an outstanding jump of 26'7.

 In the Junior Varsity Triple Jump, New Trier's Schowe won it with a jump of 24'8. New Trier's Moush finished in second with a jump of 23'1. Northside Sophomore Lyndsey Shallberg jumped a personal best 21'7 to place third overall.

In the Varsity High Jump, the Northside Mustangs one-two punch of Maria Torres, and Jennifer Kane took first and second, respectively. Maria Torres jumped 4'3 to WIN the meet. After the meet, Maria Torres jumped 4'8 during an extended practice. Jennifer Kane jumped 4'3 to finish second overall.

In the Junior Varsity High Jump, New Trier's Mattson jumped 4'3 to win it. Northside Sophomore Robin Doherty finished in second with a personal best jump of 4'0. Loyola Academy's Jenko finished in third with a jump of 3'9.

At the conclusion of the Varsity Field Events, the Northside Mustangs found themselves with a commanding lead over New Trier, Loyola, Roosevelt, and North Shore Country Day.

However, New Trier and Loyola, both quickly got themselves back into the meet, when the Mustangs where unable to field a Varsity 4x800m Relay due to Northside relay members not being in attendance at the meet with less than a day's notice to the coaching staff. The question still remains whether their teammates will welcome them back to the Team. 

New Trier won the 4x800m Relay with a time of 11:11. Loyola Academy finished in second with a time of 12:36. North Shore Country Day finished in third with a time of 12:45. 

The Mustangs' Team morale was down after the 4x800m Relay, but Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi, and Northside Sophomore Nina Coomes quickly changed the momentum back in the Mustangs favor.

In the Varsity 400m Dash, Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi WON it with an outstanding time of 70.27. New Trier's Suse finished in second with a time of 71.38. Northside Sophomore Nina Coomes finished in third with an outstanding time of 76.70. Roosevelt's Madison finished in fourth with a time of 80.97. New Trier's Oudia finished in fifth place with a time of 81.97 to complete the scoring. 

In the Varsity 4x145.45 Meters Relay, Northside Senior Jennifer Kane ran a 21.95 split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Senior Anna Parks ran a 22.82 split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Senior Gayatri Satam ran a 23.48 split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Senior Maria Torres ran a 21.19 split, to anchor the Mustangs to second place overall with a total time of 1:29.93. Loyola finished in third with an outstanding time of 1:30.42. Roosevelt finished in fourth with a time of 1:38.05 to complete the scoring.

In the Varsity 50 Yard Low Hurdles, Loyola Academy's Wagaia won it with a time of 8.13. Northside Senior Jennifer Kane finished in second place with a time of 9.28. New Trier's Brown finished in third place with a time of 9.47. Loyola Academy's Simone finished in fourth place with a time of 9.66. New Trier's Hopkins finished in fifth place with a time of 11.97. Northside Senior Maria Zdunek was winning the race but hit her trail leg on the final hurdle, and finished with a time of 13.28.

In the Junior Varsity 50 Yard Low Hurdles, New Trier's Hufter won it with a time of 8.99. Loyola Academy's Hermes finished in second place with a time of 9.66. Northside College Prep Sophomore Robin Doherty finished in third place with an outstanding time of 9.77. Loyola Academy's Muzwieck finished in fourth with a time of 10.54.

In the Varsity 50 Yard Dash, New Trier's T. Berglund won it with a time of 6.45. New Trier's Wynn finished in second place with a time of 6.69. Loyola Academy's Simone finished in third place with a time of 6.85. Roosevelt's Clark finished in fourth place with a time of 7.07. Roosevelt's Beasley completed the scoring with a time of 7.29. Northside Sophomore Caeleigh Renkosiak ran a personal best time of 7.58. Northside Sophomore Katie Dugan ran a personal best time of 8.03. Northside Varsity sprinters Janette Szestowicki, Eghe Obaseki, and Anastasia Rhodes were not at the meet.

In the Junior Varsity 50 Yard Dash, New Trier's Stapleton won it with a time of 6.74. Loyola Academy's Cedon finished in second with a time of 7.01. Northside Sophomore Robin Doherty finished in third place with a personal best time of 7.03. Northside Freshman Rosailie Abbey dropped .51 off her time to finish in fourth place with a personal best time of 7.68! Northside Freshman Hannah Lea Dorvelo finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a personal best time of 7.74. Northside Sophomore Tiffany Tran ran a personal best time of 7.78. Roosevelt's Foy ran a time  of 8.01.

In the Varsity 800m run, New Trier's A. Berglund won it with a time of 2:38. New Trier's Shelton finished in second place with a time of 2:45. Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi dropped 7 seconds off her best time to finish in third place with a personal best time of 2:47.97! Loyola Academy's Composto finished in fourth place with a time of 2:49.47. Northside Senior Anna Parks finished in fifth place to complete the scoring wih a time of 2:51.

In the Varsity 200m Dash, New Trier's Labashin finished in first place with a time of 28.53. New Trier's Tunnay finished in second place with a time of 29.05. Loyola Academy's Wagia finished in third place with a time of 30.85. Loyola Academy's Mukeiebka finished in fourth place with a time of 30.92. Northside Senior Jennifer Kane finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a time of 35.20.

In the Junior Varsity 200m Dash, New Trier's Stapleton won it with a time of 31.34. New Trier's Buids finished in second with a time of 31.57. Loyola Academy's Simons finished in third with a time of 31.32. Loyola Academy's Clifford finished in fourth place with a time of 31.97. Northside College Prep Freshman Rosailie Abbey dropped 1.24 seconds off her best time to finish in fifth place to complete the scoring with a personal best time of 34.10! Northside Freshman Hannah Lea Dorvelo ran a personal best time of 36.12.

In the Varsity Mile, New Trier's Arneson won it with an outstanding time of 5:47. New Trier's Mitrano finished in second with a time of 5:54. Northside Senior Carmen Abelson ran 145.45 meter splits of 30, 35, 35, 39, 39, 37, 35, 38, 37, 38, and 38 to finish in third place with a time of 6:41. Northside Freshman Waters Cahill earned a Varsity letter in her very first meet by finishing in fourth place to score points for the Mustangs with a personal best time of 6:59. Waters Cahill ran 145.45 meter splits of 30, 36, 36, 36, 40, 40, 38, 36, 42, 43, 48, and a 30 second split on the final 145.45 meters for a personal best time of 6:59.

In the Varsity 4x400m Relay, Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi ran a 69.66 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Nina Coomes ran a 76.40 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Senior Maria Zdunek ran a 78.58 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Senior Anna Parks anchored the Mustangs with a 73.24 400m split to pass Loyola Academy to finish in second place with an outstanding time of 4:57.88.

At the conclusion of the Meet, the Mustangs had a Team huddle to celebrate the outstanding performances at New Trier, and the Mustangs upset victory over Loyola Academy. Northside Sprints Coach David Diaz awarded a stuffed animal called "Scruffy" to Northside Senior Adaora Achufusi as athlete of the meet. Achufusi will have the honor of awarding "Scruffy" to a Northside Athlete at the conclusion of the Bloom Trail Invitational. 

The Northside Varsity Women and Junior Varsity Girls will depart at 7 am on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from Northside College Prep to Chicago Heights, Illinois for the Bloom Trail Invitational.
