 On Wednesday, April 21, 2010, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois to take on the Caxys in a dual meet.

 Lake Forest Academy features a multi-million dollar track, hockey rink, and extensive athletic facilities. The campus is surrounded by woods, complete with running trails. All Lake Forest Academy students are required to compete in Track and one other sport as a graduation requirement. Lake Forest Academy had multiple athletes and relays in every event.

 Across from the Track & Field Stadium, the Chicago Bears Indoor Practice facility could be seen behind the stadium score board. Lake Forest Academy was excellent hosts. Cold temperatures and high winds did not stop the meet.

 Despite the conditions, Northside had TWO school records broken, and Lake Forest Academy had ONE school record broken!

 Prior to the meet, Northside had never beaten Lake Forest Academy in a track meet. That changed on Wednesday, as the Mustangs upset Lake Forest Academy by a score of 80-60!!!

 Individual events were scored 5-3-1, and relays were scored 5-0.

 In the Long Jump, Lake Forest Academy's Kim won it with a jump of 18'8. Lake Forest Academy's Hawang finished in second place with a jump of 17'9. Northside Sophomore Josh Williams completed the scoring by placing third overall with a jump of 17'6.

 In the Triple Jump, Lake Forest Academy's Kim won it with a jump of 38'10. Northside Sophomore Derek Lin finished in second place with a jump of 35'7. Northside Sophomore Josh Willaims completed the scoring by placing third overall with a jump of 35'6.

 In the High Jump, Northside swept it. Northside Senior Hunter Speese won it. Northside Sophomore Josh Williams finished in second, and Northside Sophomore Jusuf Skelic completed the scoring by finishing in third place.

 In the Shot Put, Lake Forest Academy swept it. Lake Forest Academy's Anderson won it with a throw of 37'10. Lake Forest Academy's Pinel finished in second place with a throw of 36'7.75. Lake Forest Academy's Ekakitie finished in third place to complete the scoring with a throw of 35'4.25.

 In the Discus, Lake Forest Academy's Anderson broke their school record with a throw of 147'0 to win it. Lake Forest Academy's Pinel finished in second place with a throw of 128'0. Lake Forest Academy's Ekakitie finished in third place to complete the scoring with a throw of 112'0.

 In the 4x800m Relay, Northside won it with a time of 9:18.40. Sophomore Pat Duffy ran a 2:18 800m split on the first leg of the relay. Sophomore Ezra Edgerton ran a 2:17 800m split on the second leg of the relay. Sophomore Jusuf Skelic ran a 2:22 800m split on the third leg of the relay. Junior Erik Zuehlke anchored the Mustangs to victory with a 2:21 800m split for a total time of 9:18.40.

 In the Freshman 4x800m Relay, Northside finished in second with a 10:46. Freshman Alex Bologna ran a 2:35 800m split on the first leg of the relay. Freshman Calvin Gang ran a 2:42 800m split on the second leg of the relay. Freshman Andy Voung ran a 2:53 800m split on the third leg of the relay. Freshman Patrick Brennan ran a 2:36 800m split, to anchor the Mustangs to a total time of 10:46.

 In the 4x100m Relay, Lake Forest Academy won it with a time of 49.37.

 In the 3200m run, Northside Junior Charlie Mesimore won it with an official time of 10:44.72. Charlie Mesimore ran the first mile in 5:13 and the second mile in 5:31 for an outstanding time of 10:44.72. Lake Forest Academy's Friske finished in second place with an official time of 10:53.23. Lake Forest Academy's Pejovich finished in third place to complete the scoring with a time of 11:08.62. Northside Junior Danny Sobor ran an outstanding time of 11:14. Northside Sophomore Alexander Seibt ran a personal best time of 11:56. Northside Freshman Brendan Kelly ran an outstanding time of 12:31.

 In the 110m Hurdles, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter won it and BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with a personal best time of 16.18. Lake Forest Academy's Kim finished in second place with a time of 16.78. Lake Forest Academy's Hwang finished in third place to complete the scoring with a time of 21.17. Northside Freshman Marcus McVane ran a personal best time of 23.23. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran an outstanding time of 23.63.

 In the 100m Dash, Northside Sophomore Mac Melto WON it with a season best time of 11.55. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese finished in second place with an outstanding time of 11.87. Northside Junior Neal Capapas finished in third place to complete the scoring with an oustanding time of 12.14. Northside Freshman Brandon Licuanan ran a personal best time of 13.52. Northside Freshman Marcus McVane ran a time of 14.61.

 In the 800m run, Northside Junior Wesley Laytham won it with an outstanding time of 2:05.72. Wesley Laytham ran the first 400m in 59 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 66 seconds for an oustanding time of 2:05.72. Lake Forest Academy's Melesse finished in second place with a time of 2:15.87. Lake Forest Academy's MacCarthy finished in third place with a time of 2:16.16. Northside Sophomore Dan Graham ran a time of 2:29.

 In the 4x200m Relay, Northside had a dramatic come from behind Victory! Freshman Nathaniel Agharese ran a 200m split of 24.56 on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Josh Williams. Sophomore Josh Williams ran a 200m split of 24.37 on the second leg of the relay and made a perfect exchange to Sophomore Jusuf Skelic. Jusuf Skelic ran a 200m split of 28.20 on the third leg of the relay, and made an exchange to Senior Kevin Jaburek. Kevin Jaburek ran a 200m split of 25.39 to pass Lake Forest Academy, and anchor the Mustangs to victory with an official time of 1:42.52.

 In the 400m run, Northside Sophomore Mac Melto WON it with an outstanding time of 53.89. Lake Forest Academy's Wanauskas finished in second place with a time of 55.95. Northside Sophomore Ezra Edgerton finished in third place to complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 56.50. Northside Sophomore Pat Duffy ran an outstanding time of 57.44. Northside Junior Neal Capapas ran an outstanding time of 57.88.

 In the 300m Hurdles, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter won it with an outstanding time of 44.13. Lake Forest Academy's Kim finished in second place with a time of 44.72. Lake Forest Academy's MacCarthy finished in third place with a time of 49.14. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran an outstanding time of 54.23.

 In the 1600m run, Northside Junior Wesley Laytham won it with a 4:51.60. Northside Junior Charlie Mesimore finished in second place with a 4:53.31. Northside Junior Erik Zuehlke finished in third place to complete the scoring with a 5:01.96. Northside Freshman Patrick Brennan ran a personal best time of 5:41. Northside Sophomore Alexander Seibt ran an outstanding time of 5:42. Northside Freshman Alex Bologna ran an outstanding time of 6:19.

 In the 200m Dash, Northside Sophomore Mac Melto won it and BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with a personal best time of 23.41. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese finished in second place with an outstanding time of 24.44. Northside Senior Neal Capapas finished in third place to complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 25.70. Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter ran a personal best time of 26.45. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran a time of 29.09.

 In the 4x400m Relay, Lake Forest Academy won it with a time of 3:54.26. Northside finished in second place with a time of 3:55.20. Northside Sophomore Pat Duffy ran a 55.97 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Ezra Edgerton ran a 58.61 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Dan Graham ran a 62.22 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jusuf Skelic ran a 58.40 400m split to anchor the Mustangs to a total time of 3:55.20.

 On Tuesday, April 13, 2010, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Deerfield, Illinois for the 2010 Deerfield Track & Field Classic. The meet finished under the lights at Adams Stadium.

 The meet featured Glenbrook North, Northside College Prep, and host Deerfield High School. Individual events were scored 5-3-2-1, and relays were scored 5-2.

 Prior to the start of the meet, Deerfield High School honored all of the Senior athletes on their Track Team, by having each Senior athlete walk 100m on the Track with their parents between two lines of Deerfield athletes clapping, and cheering, as each Senior athlete's career highlights were announced over the loud speaker. Several of the highlights included State meet performances, and outstanding performances against rival Highland Park High School.  

 Deerfield High School is one of the most friendly places, and highly competive places to compete against in the Central Suburban League. The Northside Mustangs rose up to the challenge, and had their best meet of the season, breaking school records in the 300m Hurdles, 800m run, and 4x400m Relay.

 In the Shot Put, Deerfield's Lokumovich won it with a throw of 51'5.25. Glenbrook North's Ettinger finished in second place with a throw of 42'6.5. Deerfield's Foerch finished in third place with a throw of 41'6.5. Deerfield's Doko completed the scoring by placing fourth with a throw of 40'7. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon threw an outstanding 34'9. Northside Junior Mohammed Ahmed threw a personal best 26'4.5. Northside Freshman Kapil Garg threw 25'0. Norhside Freshman Brandon Licuanan threw 23'4.25.  

 In the Discus, Deerfield Lokumovich won it with a throw of 150'10. Deerfield's Foerch finished in second place with a throw of 130'7. Deerfield's Doko finished in third place with a throw of 120'5. Deerfield's Kolis completed the scoring by finishing in fourth place with a throw of 120'2. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon threw an outstanding 84'0. Northside Junior Mohammed Ahmed threw an oustanding 64'3. Northside Freshman Kapil Garg threw 62'3. Northside Freshman Brandon Licuanan threw a personal best 58'9.

 In the Long Jump, Deerfield's Katz won with a jump of 19'10. Deerfield's Magnus finished in second place with a jump of 18'11.25. Deerfield's Drath finished in third place with a jump of 18'5. Northside Sophomore Josh Williams completed the scoring by placing fourth overall with a jump of 18'5. Northside Sophomore Derek Lin jumped an outstanding 16'7. Northside Junior Eduardo Herrera jumped 12'7.75.

 In the Triple Jump, Deerfield's Katz won it with a jump of 42'7. Deerfield Rabushka finished in second place with a jump of 39'4.5. Northside Sophomore Derek Lin finished in third place with a jump of 36'2. Northside Sophomore Jusuf Skelic completed the scoring by finishing in fourth place with a jump of 33'3.

 In the High Jump, Deerfield's Jones, Northside Sophomore Josh Williams and Northside Sophomore Jusuf Skelic tied for first place by clearing 5'2 on their final attempt. Deerfield's Brown and Deerfield's Shields completed the scoring by tieing for fourth place. Northside Sophomore Mac Melto cleared 4'10, but then had to leave the competition for sprint relays. Northside Sophomore Dan Graham, and Northside Junior Fermie Ma also cleared 4'10. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharse made three outstanding attempts at 4'10. Deerfield's Sked cleared 4'8. Glenbrook North's Kenny cleared 4'6.

 In the Freshman 4x800m Relay, Northside finished in third place with a time of 11:13. Northside Freshman Brendan Kelly ran the first leg of the relay in a time of 2:47. Northside Freshman Calvin Gang ran the second leg of the relay in a time of 2:45. Northside Freshman Andy Voung ran the third leg of the relay in a time of 2:58. Northside Freshman Patrick Brennan anchored the Mustangs to third place with a 800m split of 2:40, for a total time of 11:13.

 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Senior Cooper Eben ran the first 400m in 64 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 65 seconds for an 800m split of 2:09.70. Cooper Eben made a nice exchange to Sophomore Ezra Edgerton. Ezra Edgerton ran the first 400m in 62 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 70 seconds for an 800m split of 2:12.22. Ezra Edgerton made a perfect exchange to Junior Danny Sobor. Danny Sobor ran the first 400m in 69 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 78 seconds for an 800m split of 2:27.12. Danny Sobor made a nice exchange to Sophomore Dan Graham. Dan Graham ran the first 400m in 68 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 75 seconds for a personal best 800m split of 2:23.46, to anchor the Mustangs to second place, with a total time of 9:12.50.

 In the Varsity 4x100m Relay, Northside finished in second place with a time of 47.25. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese ran a 100m split of 12.34, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Derek Lin. Derek Lin ran a 100m split of 11.49, and made a nice exchange to Senior Neal Capapas. Neal Capapas ran a 100m split of 12.17, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Mac Melto. Mac Melto anchored the Mustangs to second place with a 100m split of 10.91, and a total time of 47.25.

 In the 3200m run, Northside Junior Charlie Mesimore WON it with an official time of 10:26.00. Charlie Mesimore came within 3 seconds of his PR, on a crowded track, in his first 3200m race of the season. Charlie Mesimore ran the first 400m in 71 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 78 seconds (2:29 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 78 seconds (3:47 1200m), and then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds for a 5:03 at the Mile mark. On the next 400m, Charlie Mesimore lapped most of the field, and ran it in 81 seconds (6:24 2000m), and then ran the next 400m in 79 seconds (7:43 2400m), and then ran the next 400m in 84 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 79 seconds to WIN the Deerfield Classic 3200m run with an outstanding time of 10:26.00. Deerfield's Shai Farhi finished in second place with an official time of 10:45.35. Northside Junior Erik Zuehlke finished in third place with a time of 10:53.00. Erik Zuehlke ran the first 400m in 72 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 82 seconds (2:34 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 82 seconds (3:56 1200m), and then ran the next 400m in 84 seconds for a 5:20 at the Mile Mark. On the next 400m, Erik Zuehlke ran it in 82 seconds (6:42 2000m), and then ran the next 400m in 82 seconds (8:04 2400m), and then ran the next 400m in 85 seconds (9:29 2800m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 84 seconds to place third overall with an official time of 10:53. Glenbrook North Junior David Alberts finished in fourth place to complete the scoring. Northside Sophomore Alexander Seibt ran the first mile in 5:53, and then ran the second mile in 6:07 for a PERSONAL BEST time of 12:00.00. Northside Freshman Alex Bologna DROPPED 2 MINUTES for a PERSONAL BEST Track time of 13:13.00. Alex Bologna ran the first mile in 6:25, and then ran the final mile 6:48 for an official time of 13:13.00.  

 In the 110m Hurdles, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter was disqualified for a false start. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon ran a time of 19.62. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran a time of 21.37.

 In the 100m Dash, Northside Senior Neal Capapas ran a time of 12.16. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran a time of 13.18. Northside Junior Ottmar Flores ran a time of 13.41. Northside Freshman Brandon Licuanan ran a time of 13.81.

 In the 800m run, Northside Junior Wesley Laytham was boxed in for the first 150m, and then broke free with a 59 seconds 400m split, and then ran the final 400m in 63 seconds to WIN the Deerfield Classic 800m run with a NEW SCHOOL RECORD and PERSONAL BEST TIME of 2:02.50. Wesley Laytham will be honored at practice, by being awarded a Watermelon for breaking the school record in the 800m run! Wesley Laytham will also receive a plaque at the Northside Track & Field Banquet ,on June 4, 2010 for breaking the school record in the 800m run! Northside Junior Luis Gaytan ran a time of 2:21. Northside Junior Eduardo Herrera ran a time of 2:27. Northside Freshman Andy Voung ran a personal best time of 2:51.

 In the 4x200m Relay, Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese was on record pace, when his knee hit the baton and he dropped it. Nathaniel Agharese recovered, and ran a 30.68 200m split on the first leg of the 4x200m Relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Josh Williams. Northside Sophomore Josh Williams ran a 26.37 200m split on the second leg of the 4x200m Relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Jusuf Skelic. Jusuf Skelic ran a 25.83 200m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Sophomore Mac Melto. Mac Melto came from behind, and outkicked a Glenbrook North runner to the finish, with a 23.04 200m split, to finish in second place with a official time of 1:45.04.

 In the 400m run, Northside Senior Neal Capapas ran a season best time of 57.47, to finish fourth in his heat. Northside Junior Erik Zuehlke ran a personal best time of 58.10 to finish second in his heat. Northside Sophomore Dan Graham ran a time of 60.60. Northside Freshman Alex Bologna ran a personal best time of 72.12.

 In the 300m Hurdles, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD and finished in second place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 43.19. Hersh Perlmutter will be honored in practice for breaking a school record, and will receive a watermelon at practice, and a plaque at the Track banquet. Senior Andrew Czyszczon ran a season best time of 49.30. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran a time of 54.06.

 In the 1600m run, Northside Senior Cooper Eben WON it with an outstanding time of 4:46.00. Cooper Eben ran the first 400m in 67 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 73 seconds (2:20 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 74 seconds (3:34 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 72 seconds to WIN the 1600m run at the Deerfield Classic in an official time of 4:46.00. Glenbrook North Senior Nelson Osaka finished in second place with an outstanding time of 4:51. Glenbrook North Freshman Danny Chung finished in third place with a personal best time of 4:56. Northside Junior Danny Sobor tied his personal best with an official time of 5:20. Danny Sobor ran the first 800m in 2:35, and the final 800m in 2:45 for a personal best time of 5:20. Northside Freshman Patrick Brennan ran the first 800m in 2:52, and then ran the final 800m in 2:54 for an outstanding time of 5:46.3. Northside Freshman Brendan Kelly ran the first 800m in 2:53, and then ran the final 800m in 3:00 for an official time of 5:53.7.

 In the 200m Dash, Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese placed third overall with a time of 24.25. Northside Sophomore Jusuf Skelic ran an outstanding time of 26.40. Northside Sophomore Luis Mesa ran a time of 28.00.

 In the 4x400m Relay, Northside Sophomore Mac Melto ran a personal best 400m split of 52.02 on the first leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Sophomore Ezra Edgerton. Ezra Edgerton ran a 400m split of 56.03 on the second leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Junior Charlie Mesimore. Charlie Mesimore ran a personal best 400m split of 57.16 on the third leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Junior Wesley Laytham. Wesley Laytham anchored the Mustangs to second place with a 400m split of 53.37, and a NEW SCHOOL RECORD of 3:38.58. Mac Melto, Ezra Edgerton, Charlie Mesimore, and Wesley Laytham were honored in practice with Watermelons for breaking a school record, and will receive a plaque at the June 4, 2010 Track & Field banquet.

The above athletes have ALL earned a Varsity letter this season! On two occassions, Northside has lost a meet by a single point this season. Every point scored is vital to the success of the TEAM. Inches and Tenths make a Champion!

 On Saturday, April 10, 2010, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois for the 40th Annual Paul Gans Invitational. Paul Gans was an outstanding three sports athlete, who finished 2nd in State in the 200m Dash. He also held the school records for Niles West in the 100m, 200m, 400m and Long Jump. The Paul Gans Invitational has been held since 1970. Paul Gans would have been proud of the Mustangs performance on Saturday.

 The meet featured Fenwick, Northside College Prep, Yorkville, Plainfield East, Urbana, Rich Central, Metea Valley, Antioch, North Ridge Prep, Fenger, Huntley, Schurz, and host Niles West High School. Individual events and relays were scored 10-8-6-4-2-1. Medals were awarded to the top six individuals and relays.

 Niles West won the meet with 118 points. Huntley finished in second place with 105 points. Yorkville finished in third place with 71 points. Fenwick finished in fourth place with 58 points. Rich Central finished in fifth place with 53 points. Northside College Prep finished in sixth place with 46 points, and posted victories over: 7. Fenger 41 points, 8. Plainfield East 37 points, 9. Antioch 27 points, 10. Urbana 26 points, 11. Northridge Prep 4 points, and 12. Schurz 0 points. Metea Valley did not compete in the Varsity division.

  In the High Jump, Urbana's Johsnon won it with a jump of 6'0. There was a three way tie for second place, between Huntley's Hollinger, Northside Senior Hunter Speese, Fenwick's Fletcher. Hunter Speese jumped 5'2 to tie for second place. Hunter Speese took no further jumps after clearing 5'2, due to a tender hamstring after the 4x100m Relay. Hunter Speese was awarded a Medal for finishing in a second place tie. Northside Sophomore Mac Melto finished in third place with a jump of 5'2. Northside Sophomore Mac Melto took no further jumps after clearing 5'2, due to semi-finals in the 100m and 200m dash. Mac Melto was awarded a Medal for placing third overall.  

 In the Shot Put, Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon threw an outstanding 35'6.25. Northside Junior Mohammed Ahmed threw an outstanding 26'3.5. Northside Senior Neal Capapas threw a season best 24'9. Northside Junior Eduardo Herrera threw an outstanding 19'0.25.

 In the Discus, Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon threw an outstanding 86'1. Northside Junior Mohammed Ahmed threw 58'3. Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter threw 57'2. Northside Junior Eduardo Herrera faulted on three attempts.  

 In the Long Jump, Northside Sophomore Josh Williams earned a Medal by placing 6th overall with an outstanding jump of 18'5. Northside Junior Nicco Simon jumped a personal best 16'8.5. 

 In the Triple Jump, Northside Sophomore Josh Williams earned a Medal by placing 5th overall with an outstanding jump of 37'4. Northside Junior Nicco Simon jumped a personal best 33'11.5. 

 Northside Sprints Coach Adrian Hunter, and the Northside sprinters had a big day at the Paul Gans Invitational.

 In the 100m Dash semi-finals, Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese DROPPED 0.78 of a second for a PERSONAL BEST time of 11.62. Northside Sophomore Mac Melto DROPPED 0.30 of a second from the Mather Invitational for a season best time of 11.64.

 In the 110m High Hurdles semi-finals, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter placed third in his heat to advance to the finals with an outstanding time of 16.44. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon placed fourth in his heat to advance to the finals with a time of 20.01. Andrew Czyszczon would go on to drop over 2 seconds in the finals!

 In the 200m Dash semi-finals, Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 23.88. Northside Sophomore Mac Melto BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with a PERSONAL BEST time of 23.44. The record (23.60) was previously held by Santino Merino (currently runs for Oberlin College). Mac Melto will be honored in practice on Monday, with a Watermelon, for breaking a school record. Mac Melto will also receive a plaque for breaking the school record in the 200m Dash at the June 4, 2010 Track & Field banquet.

 Just seeing Mesimore, Duffy, Zuehlke, and Laytham warm-up for the 4x800m Relay created excitement in the air. The Northside Sophomore-Freshman Team lined the Track to make sure they had a good view of this race. The crowd in the stands could also sense that it was going to be a great relay, with impressive distance squads from Yorkville, Fenwick, Huntley, and Niles West in the meet. 

 The Northside distance runners had a quality week of training, including running hard intervals against the wind, in hail and rain at River Park Track. No one else was on the Track in those conditions. At the Paul Gans Invitational, the Northside distance runners would receive their first reward for their hard work.

 In the 4x800m Relay, Northside DROPPED 49 seconds from the Mather Invitational with a season best time of 8:36.18. It was also the fastest 4x800m Relay run in the CPS during the Outdoor season. Northside Junior Charlie Mesimore ran the first 400m of the relay in 62 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 67 seconds for an 800m split of 2:09.26. Northside Sophomore Pat Duffy ran the first 400m of the second leg of the 4x800m relay, in 65 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 69 seconds for an 800m split of 2:14.61. Pat Duffy made a nice exchange to Northside Junior Erik Zuehlke. Erik Zuehlke DROPPED 10 SECONDS off his PR, with a 2:09.27 800m split on the third leg of the relay. Erik Zuehlke ran the first 400m of the third leg of the 4x800m relay, in 61 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 68 seconds for an 800m split of 2:09.27. Northside was in third place when Northside Junior Wesley Laytham received the baton. Wesley Laytham ran school record pace the entire anchor leg of the 4x800m relay to pass Huntley and put the Mustangs into second place! Northside Captain Wesley Laytham ran the first 400m in 57 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 66 for a PERSONAL BEST 800m split of 2:03.04, to anchor the Mustangs to second place with a total time of 8:36.18. Charlie Mesimore, Pat Duffy, Erik Zuehlke, and Wesley Laytham were awarded Medals for placing second overall!

 In the 4x100m Relay, Northside Senior Hunter Speese hurt his hamstring on the anchor leg of the relay, taking the Mustangs out of medal contention. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese, Senior Kevin Jaburek, Senior Neal Capapas, and Senior Hunter Speese still combined for a time of 48.80.

 In the 3200m Run, Northside Senior Cooper Eben DROPPED 13 SECONDS and BROKE THE TEN MINUTES BARRIER with a PERSONAL BEST time of 9:58.80 to place second overall! Cooper Eben ran the first 400m in 70 seconds, then ran the next 400m in 75 seconds (2:25 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds (3:41 1200m), and then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds for a time of 4:57 at the Mile. On the Final Mile, Cooper Eben dropped the field, and caught up to the leader from Fenwick (9:57). Cooper Eben ran a 400m split of 75 seconds on the first 400m of the second mile (6:12 2000m), then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds (7:28 2400m), then ran the next 400m in 77 seconds (8:45 2800m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 73 seconds for a personal best time of 9:58.80! Cooper Eben was awarded a Medal for placing second overall. Northside Junior Danny Sobor ran a personal best time of 11:11.00 to place ninth overall. Danny Sobor ran the first 400m in 76 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 86 (2:42 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 88 seconds (4:10 1200m), and then ran the next 400m in 85 seconds for a time of 5:35 at the Mile. On the Final Mile, Danny Sobor dropped a runner from Niles West and Plainfield East. Danny Sobor ran a 400m split of 87 seconds on the first 400m of the second mile (7:02 2000m), and then ran the next 400m in 84 seconds (8:26 2400m), then ran the next 400m in 84 seconds (9:50 2800m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 81 seconds for a personal best time of 11:11.00!

 In the 110m Hurdles Finals, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter ran an outstanding time of 16.37 to place fifth overall. Hersh Perlmutter was awarded a Medal for placing fifth overall. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 18.99 to place eighth overall.

 In the 800m run, Northside Junior Erik Zuehlke was scratched. Northside Junior Eduardo Herrera ran the first 400m in 69 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 78 seconds for a PERSONAL BEST time of 2:27.6.

 In the 4x200m Relay, Kevin Jaburek came through as an emergency replacement for Hunter Speese. Northside Freshman Nathaniel Agharese, Sophomore Josh Williams, Junior Charlie Mesimore, and Senior Kevin Jaburek combined for a time of 1:42.94 to place fifth overall. Nathaniel Agharese, Josh Williams, Charlie Mesimore, and Kevin Jaburek were awarded Medals for placing fifth overall.

 In the 400m Dash, Northside Sophomore Mac Melto ran an outstanding time of 53.41 to place third overall. Mac Melto was awarded a Medal for placing third overall. Northside Sophomore Pat Duffy ran an outstanding time of 56.28.

 In the 300m Hurdles, Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with a personal best time of 44.82. Hersh Perlmutter will be honored in practice with a watermelon for breaking the school record, and will also receive a plaque at the June 4, 2010 Track & Field Banquet. Northside Senior Andrew Czyszczon ran an outstanding time of 50.18.

 In the 1600m Run, Northside Junior Wesley Laytham placed fourth overall with a season best time of 4:45. Wesley Laytham was awarded a Medal for placing fourth overall. Wesley Laytham ran the first 400m in 68 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 72 seconds (2:20 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 75 seconds (3:35 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE SPLIT of 70 seconds for a season best time of 4:45.00. Northside Junior Charlie Mesimore ran an outstanding time of 4:53. Charlie Mesimore ran the first 400m in 70 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 73 seconds (2:23 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 75 seconds (3:38 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a EVEN SPLIT of 75 seconds for an outstanding time of 4:53.00.

 In the Weightman Relay, Northside came within .08 of a second of the school record (53.20, 2007). Northside Junior Hersh Perlmutter, Junior Mohammed Ahmed, Junior Eduardo Herrera, and Neal Capapas combined for a 4x100m Weightman relay time of 53.28 to place fourth overall!! Hersh Perlmutter, Mohammed Ahmed, Eduardo Herrera, and Neal Capapas were awarded Medals for placing fourth overall!

 In the 4x400m Relay, Northside Sophomore Pat Duffy ran a 400m split of 55.95 on the first leg of the relay, and then made a nice exchange to Sophomore Josh Williams. Josh Williams ran a 400m split of 57.95 on the second leg of the relay, and then made a nice exchange to Senior Cooper Eben. Cooper Eben ran a 58.03 400m split on the third leg of the relay, and then made a nice exchange to Junior Wesley Laytham. Wesley Laytham anchored the Mustangs with a 55.20 400m split, for a total time of 3:47.13 to place sixth overall. Pat Duffy, Josh Williams, Cooper Eben, and Wesley Laytham were awarded Medals for placing sixth overall.
