 In the 4x400m Relay, Northside finished in second place overall and BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD with an official time of 3:27.78! Northside Sophomore Nathaniel Agharese ran a 52.98 400m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Junior Josh Williams. Josh Williams ran a 52.82 400m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Senior Wesley Laytham. Wesley Laytham ran a 52.18 400m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Junior Mac Melto. Mac Melto anchored the Mustangs to SECOND place overall, with a 49.80 400m split to break the school record with an official time of 3:27.78! Nathaniel Agharese, Josh Williams, Wesley Laytham, and Mac Melto earned All City Honors and were awarded Medals for placing second overall in Chicago! Nathaniel Agharse, Josh Williams, Wesley Laytham, and Mac Melto will be honored in practice on Monday with a Watermelon for breaking the school record!

 Northside has a season record of 118-31 going into the IHSA Sectional Championships!

 Northside Principal Barry Rodgers, Vice Principal Margaret Murphy, Athletic Director Andrew Mayer, and many other members of the Northside Faculty, and Athletic Department are coming to the Varsity Chicago Public League Finals on Saturday, May 7, 2011 to cheer on the Mustangs!

 Northside students, alumni, and fans will also be in attendance to cheer on the Mustangs! 

 The meet will take place at Hanson Stadium at 5501 W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago, Illinois.

 Northside athletes will be departing from Northside College Prep at 8:20 am for Hanson Stadium.

 Coaches meeting will take place at the 50 yards line of Hanson Stadium at 9:30 am.

 On Friday, May 6, 2011, the Northside Sophomore-Freshman Track Team traveled to Hanson Stadium in Chicago, Illinois for the Sophomore Chicago Public League Championships!

 Northside scored only 3 points in the Freshman Chicago Public League Championships a year ago. That changed dramatically on Friday night!

 In the High Jump, Northside Freshman Louie Koll finished in fourth place with a jump of 5'4. Northside Freshman Lucien Fitzpatrick finished in fifth place with a jump of 5'4.

 In the Triple Jump, Northside Freshman Louis Koll jumped 32'6.5!

 In the Discus, Northside Freshman Henry Lothschutz placed fifth overall with a personal best throw of 75'06. Northside Sophomore Ify Ndukwu placed seventh overall with a personal best throw of 74'03. 

 In the 4x800m Relay, the Northside Sophomores and Freshmen had a very special day. Northside ran a 9:43.17 in the prelims, and DROPPED 26.01 seconds in the Finals with a Sophomore-Freshman 4x800m Relay season best time of 9:17.16! On the first leg of the relay, Northside Sophomore Patrick Brennan DROPPED 11 SECONDS from the prelims, with a personal best 2:15:39 800m split! Brennan ran the first 400m in 66 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 69 seconds for a personal best 2:15:39 800m split, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Calvin Gang. On the second leg of the relay, Northside Sophomore Calvin Gang DROPPED 7 SECONDS from the prelims, with a personal best 2:19.53 800m split! Calvin Gang ran the first 400m in 69 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 70 seconds for a personal best 2:19:53 800m split, and made a difficult exchange to Northside Freshman Joel Deleon. On the third leg of the relay, Northside Freshman Joel Deleon DROPPED 10 SECONDS from the individual 800m prelims, with a personal best 2:21.47 800m split! Joel Deleon ran the first 400m in 70 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 71 seconds for a personal best 2:21.47 800m split, and made a nice exchange to Freshman Robert Szmurlo. On the anchor leg of the relay, Northside Freshman Robert Szmurlo DROPPED 6 SECONDS from the prelims, with a personal best 2:20.77 800m split! Robert Szmurlo ran the first 400m in 68 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 72 seconds for a personal best 2:20.77 800m split, to anchor the Mustangs to an outstanding time of 9:17.16. Northside came within 0.28 of a second of rival Lane Tech (9:16.88).

 In the 3200m run, Northside Freshman Cesar Rufino ran the first mile in 5:21, and then ran the final mile in 5:49 for an oustanding time of 11:10. Northside Freshman Alex Gordon DROPPED 13 seconds for a personal best time of 11:45! Northside Freshman Alex Gordon ran the first mile in 5:41, and then ran the final mile in 6:04 for a personal best time of 11:45! 

 In the 110m Hurdles, Northside Freshman Lucien Fitzpatrick finished in third place overall with an outstanding time of 17.55.

 In the 300m Hurdles, Northside Freshman Lucien Fitzpatrick finished in seventh overall with an outstanding time of 47.12.

 The Northside Sophomore-Freshman Track & Field Team will have a manadatory meeting in the Cafeteria on Monday, May 9, 2011, at 3:30 pm to vote on banquet awards, and the Northside coaching staff will announce the IHSA Sectional Championship roster.

 Northside finished in ninth place with 28 points in the Sophomore-Freshman Chicago Public League Championships!
