 In the 200m Dash, Northside Freshman Louis Koll ran an outstanding time of 26.87. 

 The 4x400m Relay has been a very special event for the Northside Track Team this year. During the course of the season, the school record went from 3:35 to 3:27, a time drop of 8 seconds! It was one of the highlights of every meet. The Mustangs look forward to making the jump from 3:27 to the State automatic qualifying time of 3:23.74 in 2012! 

 In the 4x400m Relay, Northside finished in eighth place with an official time of 3:28.85 and posted victories over Niles West (3:29.07), Loyola Academy (3:32.53), Hersey (3:33.00), Glenbrook North (3:34.83), New Trier (3:35.62), St. Viator (3:41.05), Von Steuben (3:41.15), Maine East (3:44.40), Lincoln Park (3:45.00), Notre Dame (3:45.14), and Schurz (3:54.80).

 On the first leg of the relay, Northside Sophomore Nathaniel Agharese ran an outstanding 52.36 400m split, and made a perfect exchange to Northside Junior Josh Williams. Josh Williams ran an outstanding 53.56 400m split, and made a perfect exchange to Northside Senior Wesley Laytham. Wesley Laytham ran an outstanding 52.59 400m split, and made a perfect exchange to Northside Junior Mac Melto. Mac Melto anchored the Mustangs to eighth place with a 49.60 400m split, for an official time of 3:28.85.

 After a Team Huddle, the Northside athletes took one more lap around the Track in honor of the Seniors, and the best season in the history of Northside College Prep!!!

 On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 6 pm, there will be a Pasta Party in the Northside Cafeteria to distribute summer training information, and Welcome the incoming Freshman runners to the Northside Cross Country and Track TEAM.

 Mac Melto will leave for the State Championships on Thursday, May 26, 2011. The Prelims will take place on Friday, May 27, 2011, and the Finals will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

 The TEAM will be honored at the East Bank Club on Friday, June 3, 2011. It will be the most spectacular Track & Field banquet in the country.

 On Tuesday, May 17, 2011, Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon, Sprints Coach Kwaku Attoh, Throws Coach Charles Milbert, Assistant Coach Joseph Hetland, and Assistant Coach Jose Nebrida traveled to Skokie, Illinois to Niles West High School for the 2011 IHSA Sectional seed meeting. The Niles West Coaching staff were excellent hosts. The Northside Coaching staff was treated to food and drink. 

 IHSA Official William Drennan was named the starter for the Sectional Championships, along with IHSA Officials Lawrence Genge, and Matt Dewitt.

 The opening height for High Jump will be 5'7, with a warm-up height of 5'5. The opening height for Pole Vault will be 11'3.

 Northside Coaches were excited to learn on Tuesday evening, that Northside Senior Wesley Laytham made the fast heat in the 800m run (1:58.98) with the #5 seed overall. Laytham was also the #5 seed in 2010, when he qualified for the IHSA State Championships. The number one seed is Neal Omar of Niles West High School with a 1:55.63. Laytham is the fastest Senior in the meet. If Laytham finishes in the top 2 in the Sectional, he would automatically qualify for the IHSA State Championships.

 Additional athletes in the 800m run include: Glenbrook North Senior David Baker (2:00.24), New Trier Sophomore Pat O'Reilly (2:06.24), Loyola Academy Senior Andrew Fausone (2:03.04), New Trier Sophomore Dominic Gattuso (2:02.24), Notre Dame Senior Todd Brady (2:00.64), Loyola Academy Junior Byron Morales (2:05.44), Glenbrook South Senior Sebastian Flieger (2:01.04), Lane Tech Senior Eduardo Bustamante (2:06.44), Northside Junior Pat Duffy (2:06.44), Niles West Senior Marc Julien (2:01.24), Lane Tech Junior David Timlin (1:56.80), and Niles North Senior Ben Pierce (2:05.24). The automatic qualifying time for the State Championships is 1:56.84. 

 Northside Junior Mac Melto (49.30) is also seeded in the fast heat of the 400m run. Melto is the fastest Junior in the meet, and is seeded second overall to Niles North Senior Devonier Casey (48.64). If Melto finishes in the top 2 in the Sectional, he would automatically qualify for the IHSA State Championships. Melto will be in lane 5 of heat 5 of the 400m Dash (Fast Heat) on Thursday. The automatic qualifying time for the State Championships in the 400m run is 49.94. 

 Northside Senior Erik Zuehlke is among the favorites in the first heat of the 3200m run. Northside Senior Charlie Mesimore is also among the favorites in the first heat of the 1600m run. Northside Junior Ezra Edgerton is among the favorites in the second heat of the 1600m run.

 Northside Junior Josh Williams is in the top flight for both the Long Jump and Triple Jump!

 For the first time in Northside history, Northside is in the fast heat in the 4x400m Relay at IHSA Sectional Championships! It will be between Maine South, Prospect, and Northside (3:27.78) for the top two spots to qualify for the IHSA State Championships! Northside has already posted victories against Niles North, Lane Tech, Evanston, Glenbrook South, and Hersey (3:30.64) in the 4x400m Relay this season.

 Additional Teams in the 4x400m Relay, include: Maine West (3:30.64), Loyola Academy (3:30.74), Niles West (3:30.84), New Trier (3:32.24), Glenbrook North (3:37.24), Notre Dame (3:38.64), St.Viator (3:40.02), and Maine East (3:43.84).

 The IHSA Sectional Championships will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. Northside will leave for the IHSA Sectional Championships at 12:45 pm. image
