The CPS Track & Field Committee learned today that plans are underway for a new Indoor Sports Complex, complete with a 200m or 300m Track, to be built off the Dan Ryan expressway.

CPS Track & Field has already submitted usage plans to investors for the new facility, which include: a CPS Indoor Relay meet, 12 CPS Indoor Meets (consisting of 6 Teams in each meet), a CPS Indoor Sophomore Championship meet, a CPS Indoor Varsity Qualifying meet, and a CPS Varsity Indoor Championship meet.

The proposed facility will also be used by local colleges and other CPS Sports.

Ground breaking for the new facility could commence within the year, with a possibility of it being ready for 2013.
