Northside Varsity 4x200m Relay finishes in fourth! Simon Kafka runs 57.50 400m dash after the 800m run! Lucien Fitzpatrick runs 46.50 300m Hurdles!
In the Varsity 4x200m Relay, Northside Junior Jay Yu ran the first leg of the relay in a 27.57 200m split, and made a nice exchange to Senior Alex Bologna. Alex Bologna ran a 28.49 200m split, and made a good exchange to Junior Robert Szmurlo. Robert Szmurlo ran a 28.31 200m split, and made a nice exchange to Freshman Gabe Stacey. Gabe Stacey anchored the Mustangs to fourth place with a 34.82 200m split for an official time of 1:59.90. Jay Yu, Alex Bologna, Robert Szmurlo, and Gabe Stacey were awarded MEDAL for finishing in fourth place overall.
In the Varsity 400m Dash, Northside Junior Simon Kafka ran an outstanding time of 57.50 to finish in ninth place overall. Northside Senior Calvin Gang ran an official time of 63.50 to finish in tenth place overall.
In the Varsity 300m Hurdles, Grayslake North's Kevin Meyer finished in first place with an official time of 42.40. Mather's Catrell Coleson finished in second place with an official time of 42.50. Highland Park's Benji Rogin finished in third place with an official time of 43.90. Northside Junior Lucien Fitzpatrick finished in fourth place with an outstanding time of 46.50. Lucien Fitzpatrick was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in fourth place overall. Highland Park's Jake Perrella finished in fifth place with an official time of 47.30. New Trier's Valdivia Keenen finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 47.40.

In the Varsity 1600m run, Highland Park's Jonah Hanig won it with an official time of 4:31.50. Highland Park's Angel Estrada finished in second place with an official time of 4:31.90. New Trier's Ted Oh finished in third place with an official time of 4:34.90. Grayslake North's Ryan Bruder finished in fourth place with an official time of 4:38.50. Northside Senior Patrick Brennan ran his best race of the season, and is closing in on the School Record. Patrick Brennan ran the first 400m in 65 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 70 seconds (2:15 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 72 seconds (3:27 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 71 seconds to finish in fifth place with an official time of 4:38.90. Patrick Brennan was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in fifth place overall. New Trier's Ethan Kaplan finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 4:40.40. Mather Junior Deivi Tahraji finished in seventh place with an official time of 4:48.00. Larkin's Cameron Powers finished in eighth place with an official time of 4:57.10. Northside Junior Cesar Rufino ran an outstanding race. Cesar Rufino ran the first 400m in 67 seconds, and then ran the next 400m in 76 seconds (2:23 800m), and then ran the next 400m in 80 seconds (3:43 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 76 seconds to finish in ninth place with an outstanding time of 4:59.70. Mather's Dontel Payne finished in tenth place with an official time of 5:05.30. Grayslake North's Jake Hensley finished in eleventh palce with an official time of 5:13.20.
Northside Varsity 4x400m Relay earns MEDALS at the Highland Park Twilight Invitational
In the Varsity 200m Dash, Northside scratched their entries.
In the Varsity 4x400m Relay, Northside finished in fifth place with an official time of 4:17.30. Northside Junior Simon Kafka ran a 55.26 400m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Junior Robert Szmurlo. Robert Szmurlo ran a 66.13 400m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Senior Alex Bologna. Alex Bologna ran a 70.02 400m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Senior Calvin Gang. Calvin Gang ran a 65.31 400m split to anchor the Mustangs to fifth place with an official time of 4:17.30. Simon Kafka, Robert Szmurlo, Alex Bologna, and Calvin Gang were awarded MEDALS for placing fifth overall.
The Northside Varsity Track & Field TEAM will travel to Lake Forest, Illinois on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 for the Lake Forest Academy Caxys Track & Field Classic.

Prior to 2013, only SEVEN Northside Track & Field athletes, Eric Nelson (2008, 2009), Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss (2009), Wesley Laytham (2010, 2011), Nathaniel Agharese (2011), Josh Williams (2011, 2012), Mac Melto (2011, 2012), and Lucien Fitzpatrick (2012), have ever scored 100 Varsity points in a season.
For only the second time in the history of Northside College Prep, four or more athletes could reach the century mark in the same season.
Northside Junior Lucien Fitzpatrick (134.00), and Senior Patrick Brennan (101.50) have recently reached the century mark.
Northside Sophomore Malcolm Grba is sitting on 90.50 points. Northside Sophomore Matt Osborne is sitting on 82.50 points.
Northside Sophomore Porter Abbey has 66 points. Northside Junior Nathaniel Agharese has 64.50 points.
