 The IHSA announced this morning that the prelims will commence at O'Brien Stadium in Charleston, Illinois on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 8:00 am for Field Events, and at 9:00 am for Track Events.

 The IHSA is going to broadcast the races live on the internet at IHSA.TV on Friday and Saturday.

8:00 a.m. Long Jump Flights 1, 2, & 3 (Warm-up at 7:40 am)

                 Triple Jump - Lucien Fitzpatrick

                 First flight of the Triple Jump will immediately follow the long jump, after a 15 minutes warm-up.

8:15 am   High Jump - Lucien Fitzpatrick

8:30 am   Pole Vault - Jay Yu, Xavier Sigelko

8:35 am   Shot Put - Ari Perlmutter  

8:40 am   First Call for the 4x800m Relay 

8:50 am   Elijah Magee of Carbondale will sing the National Anthem

 On Thursday, May 16, 2013, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Hanson Stadium in Chicago, Illinois for the IHSA Sectional Championships.

 In 2012, Northside finished in fourth place with 57 points at the same IHSA Sectional, and qualified athletes for State in the 4x800m Relay and Long Jump.

 In 2013, Northside returned to the same IHSA Sectional, and qualified 17 athletes for State in Shot Put, High Jump, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, 110m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 4x800m Relay, and 4x400m Relay!!

 Northside also WON their first IHSA Men's Sectional title is the history of Northside College Prep with 180 points!! Northside won the IHSA Sectional Title by 98 points! It was the largest margin of Victory in the history of Illinois!

 In a nice ceremony following the meet, Northside received the IHSA Sectional Championship plaque! A Banner will also be hoisted on the GYM wall!! It is the first Men's Sectional Title in any sport in the history of Northside College Prep!  

 Chicago Northside won the 2013 IHSA Sectional Title with a record 180 points, and posted victories over: 2. Norridge Ridgewood (82 points), 3. Chicago Urban Prep Bronzeville (42 points), 4. Chicago UIC (41 points), 5. Chicago Marshall (35 points), 6. Chicago Bulls College Prep (33 points), 7. Chicago Prosser (29 points), 7. Kelvyn Park (29 points), 9. Chicago Orr Academy (27 points), 10. Chicago Gordon Tech (18 points), 11. Chicago Muchin (11 points), 12. Chicago CICS/Northtown (10 points), 13. Chicago Senn (6 points), 14. Westinghouse (0 points), 15. Manley (0 points), 16. Crane (0 points), and 17. Urban Prep West (0 points).

 Northside had a record of 16-0 on the day to WIN the 2013 IHSA Sectional Title! Northside is now one more victory away from the State Title!

Individual Events and Relays were scored on the following point scale: 10-8-6-4-2-1. The top two in each event qualify for the IHSA State Championships. Medals were awarded to the Top 6 places in each event.

 In the IHSA Sectional Shot Put competition, Gordon Tech Senior Javier Ortiz won it with a throw of 45'09.00. Northside Sophomore Ari Perlmutter finished in SECOND place and QUALIFIED for the IHSA State Championships with a personal best throw of 41'01.50. Ari Perlmutter was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Ari Perlmutter is now within 2'03.50 (43'05) of the School Record!! Marshall Senior Rashawn McKennie finished in third place with a throw of 38'10.00. Marshall Senior Xavier Bell finished in fourth place with a throw of 36'06.50. Norridge Ridgewood Freshman Patryk Panocha finished in fifth place with a throw of 35'10.00. Urban Prep Junior Tevin Harris finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a throw of 35'00.00. Northside Junior Henry Lothschutz finished in ninth place with a throw of 30'09.50.

 In the IHSA Sectional Discus competition, Norridge Ridgewood Senior David Krueger won it with a throw of 115'03. Gordon Tech Senior Javier Ortiz finished in second place with a throw of 108'00. Northside Junior Henry Lothschutz finished in THIRD place with a personal best throw of 103'09. Henry Lothschutz was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in third place overall. Norridge Freshman Patryk Panocha finished in fourth place with a throw of 100'00. Urban Prep Sophomore Grant Russell finished in fifth place with a throw of 99'05. Marshall Senior Rashawn McKennie finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a throw of 97'08. Northside Sophomore Declan Galleher finished in 13th place with a throw of 45'05. CICS/Northtown Junior Alex Islas finished in 14th place with a throw of 41'05.
