The athletes listed above have earned a Varsity letter by scoring a Varsity point in a Track meet.

Every point scored is vital to the success of the TEAM. The outcome of a Championship meet has come down to a single point on several occassions.

The Northside Track & Field Team recently sent care packages to Northside Track & Field Alumni competing in sports at the collegiate level, including Alumni legends Mac Melto, Wesley Laytham, Charlie Mesimore, Cooper Eben, and Patrick Brennan.

Since the Fall, Northside Alumni legend Patrick Brennan has been receiving instruction and intense training as a member of the Notre Dame Boxing Team in preparation for the Bengal Bouts Boxing Tournament.

The Bengal Bouts is an annual charity boxing tournament with the mantra: "Strong Bodies Fight, that Weak Bodies May Be Nourished". In 2013, the tournament was broadcasted on ESPN3, and raised over $100,000.00 for Holy Cross Missions in Bangladesh.

The tournament is hosted by the Notre Dame Boxing Team and takes place at the Joyce Center at the University of Notre Dame from February 17 - March 2, 2014. The Tournament was started by legendary Notre Dame Coach Knute Rockne.

Patrick Brennan is in the 140 lbs division of the Tournament, and has already been advanced to the Quarter-Finals. Patrick Brennan will be fighting the winner of the final Preliminary fight, Conor Durkin v. Fernando Garcia fight (2/17), in the Quarter-Finals of the Tournament on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Joyce Center at the University of Notre Dame.

On Friday, February 7, 2014, the Northside Varsity Track & Field Team traveled to Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois for the Wolves Den Indoor Classic.

The meet featured 11 Teams, including Niles North, Northtown Academy, Gordon Tech, Northside College Prep, North Lawndale, Von Steuben, Marshall, Taft, DuSable, Perspective Charter, and host Niles West.

Team Camps were spread out in the hallways throughout the school. Spectators quickly filled the stands, and hundreds of spectators watched the meet from standing room only sections of the Track. The Stadium was at full capacity for the first Indoor Track meet of the year.

Niles West didn't allow athletes to use Spikes, or even shoes with spikes removed from the bottom. They required racing flats with rubber soles. In the past, athletes could just remove their spikes from the bottom of their shoes, and still run in them. The last minute stadium rule change forced most of the Northside Team to jump and race in heavy training shoes. Northside overcame it, and had a very BIG Day!

Individual Events and Relays were scored on the following point scale: 10-8-6-4-2-1.

In the Varsity Long Jump, Niles North Coardoes won it with a jump of 19'3. North Lawndale Imani Payton finished in second place with a jump of 19'1.
