Senior Simon Kafka runs a 2:01.59 800m split on the second leg of the 4x800m Relay at Indoor State Championships!

 On the second leg of the 4x800m Relay, Northside Senior Simon Kafka ran the first 200m in 29 seconds, and then ran the next 200m in 30 seconds for a 400m split of 59 seconds. Simon Kafka then ran the next 200m in 31 seconds for a 600m split of 1:30. Simon Kafka then ran the final 200m in 31.59 seconds for a personal best 800m split of 2:01.59, and made a nice exchange to Junior Tom Frejowski. image

Junior Tom Frejowski runs a 2:13.73 800m split on the third leg of the 4x800m Relay at the Indoor State Championships!

 On the third leg of the 4x800m Relay, Northside Junior Tom Frejowski ran the first 200m in 29 seconds, and then ran the next 200m in 30 seconds for a 400m split of 59 seconds. Tom Frejowski then ran the next 200m in 35 seconds for a 600m split of 1:34. Tom Frejowski then ran the final 200m in 39.73 seconds for an outstanding 800m split of 2:13.73, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Matthew Gomez. image

Sophomore Matthew Gomez runs a 2:10.17 800m split to anchor the Mustangs to the fastest INDOOR 4x800m Relay in Northside history!

 Northside Sophomore Matthew Gomez ran the first 200m in 29 seconds, and then ran the next 200m in 33 seconds for a 400m split of 62 seconds. Matthew Gomez then ran the next 200m in 35 seconds for a 600m split of 1:37. Matthew Gomez then ran the final 200m in 33.17 seconds for a personal best 800m split of 2:10.17, to anchor Northside to the fastest INDOOR 4x800m Relay in Northside history with an official time of 8:27.51. image

Junior Malcolm Grba runs a 2:00.73 800m to earn a MEDAL at the Indoor State Championships!

 In the 800m run, Northside Junior Malcolm Grba ran the first 200m in 28 seconds, and then ran the next 200m in 30 seconds for a 400m split of 58 seconds. Malcolm Grba then ran the next 200m in 31 seconds for a 600m split of 1:29. Malcolm Grba then ran the final 200m in 31.73 seconds to finish in eighth place with an outstanding time of 2:00.73. Malcolm Grba was awarded a MEDAL for placing in the top 8 in Illinois! Malcolm Grba is the first Northside athlete to earn a Medal in the 800m run at Illinois Prep Top Times! imageimage

 On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 2 pm, the field was officially announced for Illinois Prep Top Times, the Indoor State Championships.

 Northside Junior Malcolm Grba became the first athlete in the history of Northside to qualify for Illinois Prep Top Times in the 800m run with an official time of 2:00.52. Grba is ranked as the 9th seed in the Indoor State Championships.

 The Northside 4x800m Relay also qualified for the Indoor State Championships as the 12th seed, with an official time of 8:35.83! Northside will feature Danny Rosen, Tom Frejowski, Matthew Gomez, and Simon Kafka in the 4x800m Relay at Illinois Prep Top Times.

 Pack your bags!!! Northside is going to Bloomington for the Indoor State Championships!!!
