The athletes listed above have earned a Varsity letter by scoring a Varsity point in a Track meet.

Every point scored is vital to the success of the TEAM. The outcome of a Championship meet has come down to a single point on several occassions.

On Friday, March 28, 2014, Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon, Assistant Coaches Patrick O'Connor, Amy O'Connor, Wayne Edelman, and Northside Junior Malcolm Grba, Senior Simon Kafka, Junior Tom Frejowski, Sophomore Danny Rosen, and Sophomore Matthew Gomez traveled to Bloomington, Illinois for the Indoor State Championships (Illinois Prep Top Times).

The Mustangs stayed at Eastland Suites in Bloomington, Illinois. The suites each contained two floors of rooms with a staircase, two bathrooms,  Plasma Televisions, and a full size kitchen with a large refigerator and microwave. A special thanks to Northside Principal Kelly Mest and Athletic Director Andrew Mayer for the wonderful accomodations.

The Team dined at Olive Garden the night before Illinois Prep Top Times. The Bloomington Olive Garden was the most popular place in town, and Illinois Prep Top Times qualifiers filled the restaurent to capacity. Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon treated the athletes and coaching staff to a gourmet meal at Oliver Garden. After dinner, the Mustangs went to a local grocerty store to stock the Hotel suites with nutritional snacks.

On Saturday, March 29, 2014, the Indoor State Championships (Illinois Prep Top Times) took place at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The energy in the stadium was electric, with a sold-out stadium crowd filled to its capacity, with people standing in the upper deck just to get a glimpose of the meet. The stadium featured a jumbotron video screen, showing the results of all the events throughout the meet, and a play-by-play announcer who gave live commentary on every event that took place.

Malcolm Grba, Danny Rosen, Simon Kafka, Tom Frejowski, and Matthew Gomez received their race numbers upon arrival, and were placed in a large turf room adjancent to the stadium to put away belongings, and set up aTeam Camp. Right next to the turf room,a special gymnasium was used for event check-in, and to run warm-ups. The athletics had access to stands on the main floor, that were roped off from the Track.

Northside witnessed an incredible Track meet throughout the day, as they waited for the main events, the 4x800m Relay, and the 800m run.
