Northside Junior Keith Jones WINS 200m Dash at the Spartan Indoor Classic!
In the Varsity 200m Dash, Northside Junior Keith Jones WON it with a PERSONAL BEST time of 25.17. Glenbrook North's Johnny Gilchrist finished in second place with an official time of 25.22. Highland Park athletes finished in 3rd, 4th, and 5th to complete the scoring in the Varsity 200m dash.
Northside was very impressive in the 200m dash. Northside Senior Tom Frejowski ran an outstanding time of 25.62. Northside Junior Justin Washington ran a PERSONAL BEST time of 25.86. Northside Junior Garret Barch ran an impressive time of 26.12. Northside Senior Gabriel Jimenez-Ekman ran an outstanding time of 27.22. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran an official time of 29.68.
Northside was unfortunate to scratch Philip Wdowiak, Steven Kataba, and Gus Vroustouris from the Varsity 200m dash. Kataba and Vroustouris will return to action next weekend. Wdowiak will return to action on March 7, 2015.
In the Sophomore 200m Dash, Northside Sophomore Charles Jones ran a personal best time of 28.53. Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor ran a personal best time of 29.45. Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport ran an outstanding time of 30.00.
In the Sophomore Throwers' 4x160m Relay, Northside Sophomore Vladimir Andrade ran a 160m split of 22.34 on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Jonathan Liu ran a 160m split of 26.77 on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Carlos Saldana ran a 160m split of 28.35 on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero anchored Northside with an impressive 23.08 160m split for an official time of 1:40.54.
Max McCoy, Sergio Soto, Kyle Friedler, and Alex Ortiz upset Glenbrook North in the Varsity B 4x400m Relay!
In the Varsity "B" 4x400m Relay, Northside upset Glenbrook North with an official time of 4:03.89. Northside Senior Max McCoy ran an impressive 58.21 400m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sergio Soto. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto ran a 400m split of 61.64, and made a good exchange to Kyle Friedler. Northside Sophomore Kyle Friedler ran a 400m split of 61.90, and made a nice exchange to Alex Ortiz. Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz anchored the Mustangs with a 62.14 400m split for an official time of 4:03.89.
In the Sophomore "A" 4x400m Relay, Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt ran the first 400m in an impressive split of 60.60, and made a nice exchange to Nicholas Brown. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a personal best 400m split of 65.22, and made a perfect exchange to Carel Jones. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran an outstanding 400m split of 67.22, and made a nice exchange to Brian McManus. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus anchored Northside past Highland Park for SECOND place with an impressive 62.44 400m split for an official time of 4:15.48.
In the Sophomore "B" 4x400m Relay, Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal ran an impressive 65.40 400m split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman George McCoy ran a 83.57 400m split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke ran a 71.20 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jack Webster anchored the Mustangs with a 69.36 400m split for an official time of 4:49.53.
Northside would like to Congratulate Glenbrook North Head Coach Scott Laskey and the Spartans for winning the meet with 98 points. The Northside Varsity Men (12-6) finished in SECOND place with 71 points. Highland Park finished in third place with 52 points. Maine West finished in fourth place with 3 points.
