Northside Senior Max McCoy worked hard in the off-season to improve his physical strength. One of the benefits of his hard work in the weight room, and on the roads is improved quarter speed.

In the 400m Dash, Northside Senior Max McCoy came from behind to pass a Maine East runner to WIN his heat with a PERSONAL BEST time of 57.80.

Max McCoy is an incredible athlete. He has been one of the cornerstones to the Northside 4x800m Relay. He has helped Northside to a Sophomore City Title in the 4x800m (2013), and a Varsity Indoor City Title in the 4x800m (2014). Max McCoy also has a career personal record in the 1600m run of 4:54.88.

With his improved speed and strength in the 400m, Max McCoy will soon have NEW personal records in the 800m and 1600m to follow his outstanding performance at Maine East.

In the 200m Dash, Northside Junior Steven Kataba ran an outstanding time of 25.20. The best is yet to come. The IHSA official identified the wrong finish line to Kataba before the race. Kataba then stopped at the wrong finish line, and had to re-start, and still ran a 25.20 200m dash! Northside Junior Garret Barch also ran an outstanding time of 25.70.

The Maine East Invitational featured Ten Teams, including: Deerfield, New Trier, Glenbard East, Schaumburg, Vernon Hills, Leyden, Northridge, Northside, Maine West, and host Maine East.

Deerfield High School won the 2015 Maine East Invitational with 133 points. Congratulations to Coach Jeremy Kaufman and the Deerfield Warriors. Deerfield has great sportsmanship. The Deerfield Coaching Staff praised several of the Northside athletes before the meet, and after the meet for their outstanding performances. The Deerfield athletes are also true students of the sport. While watching the 4x400m Relay, they were able to identify by name every member of the Northside 4x400m from past meets that Northside attended at Deerfield during the 2014 outdoor season. Northside will face Deerfield again on April 15 and May 2.

Maine East has a long history of hosting the best Track meets in the Central Suburban league. The competition is always outstanding. They have also hosted Indoor Pentathlons at the start of every indoor track season. The Track is 160m and allows athletes to use 1/8 Pyramid spikes. Maine East also features upper deck stadium seating.

The 49th Annual Blue Demon Invitational featured Deerfield, Glenbard East, Leyden, Maine West, New Trier, Northside, Schaumburg, Northridge, Vernon Hills, and host Maine East.
