 On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Northside College Prep will be hosting the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic at River Park Track in Chicago, Illinois.

 The meet features Chicago Leo High School, Chicago Bulls College Prep, Ogden International, Roosevelt, Von Steuben, and host Northside College Prep.

 Our goal is to make it the best Track & Field experience in Illinois! The official timer of the IHSA Sectional, Accurace Timing services is coming all the way from Wisconsin for the event. FOUR IHSA officials have also been hired. In addition to having an IHSA official as a starter, IHSA Official have been hired for Field Events as well.

  Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 Athletes in each event. Ribbons will be awarded for places fourth through sixth. Goody bags will be given to all participants on every team.

 Once a Northside athlete holds the school record and has qualified for the IHSA State Track & Field Championships, an event in the Eric Nelson Track & Field Classic is named after the athlete, beginning the following year. 

 Plaques will be awarded to the winner of the High Jump in honor of Northside Alumni Eric Nelson, the winner of the 800m run in honor of Northside Alumni Wesley Laytham, the winner of the Long Jump in honor of Northside Alumni Josh Williams, the winner of the 400m run in honor of Northside Alumni Mac Melto, the winner of the 110m Hurdles in honor of Northside Alumni Lucien Fitzaptrick, and the winners of the 4x800m Relay in honor of school record holders Malcolm Grba, Danny Rosen, Northside Alumni Simon Kafka, and Northside Alumni Patrick Brennan.

 Northside is seeking Parent Volunteers for (1) Awards Distribution, (2) Clerks of the Course - check in athletes and provide them with hip numbers for each event, (3) Goody Bags - help make goody bags for the event, (4) Heavy lifting of Track Equipment BEFORE and/or AFTER the meet for set up and/or clean-up, (5) Exchange Zone Judges, (6) Admissions entrance, (7) Hospitality Room and Packet Pick-up, and (8) Help supply bottled water for the event.

 On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, the Northside Varsity Men traveled to Bensenville, Illinois to Bison Stadium for the Fenton Bison Indoor Classic. 

 Fenton is the home of the Metro Suburban Conference Track and Field Champions. Fenton has won the Metro Suburban Conference Track & Field Championships, two of the last four years, and famous alumni include Olympian Jim Spivey, and Chris Siemers.

 Fenton is a special venue, and a great atmosphere for Track & Field. The P.A. announcer makes all the Teams feel welcome, and gives scoring updates after every event. The announcer also lets the crowd know the height of the High Jump and Pole Vault cross bar throughout the evening competition.

 Fenton also features a 135 yards track. Athletes have the priviledge of knowing their racing splits every 135 yards for 26 laps in the Two miles run.

 All of the events are in Yards at Fenton. As a result, the athletes race 3,510 yards for the Two Miles run, which is actually 3,209.54 Meters. The athletes race 1,755 yards for the mile, which is actually 1,604.772 Meters. The athletes race 880 yards for the half-mile, which is actually 804.672 Meters. The athletes race 440 yards for the quarter, which is actually 402.336 Meters. The athletes race 220 yards for the 200, which is actually 201.168 Meters.

 The Fenton Bison Indoor Classic featured the DePaul Rams, Conant, Northside College Prep, and host Fenton. Individual Events were scored 6-4-3-2-1, and Relays were scored 6-4-2.

 Conant won the Bison Indoor Classic with 139 points. Fenton finished in second place with 68 points. The Northside Varsity finished in third place with 41 points. The DePaul Rams finished in fourth place with 3 points. Northside had a record of 1-2 on the day.

 In the Varsity Shot Put, Fenton's Rodriquez won it with a throw of 39'6. Conant's Hanks finished second with a throw of 37'10. Fenton's Young finished in third place with a throw of 37'3. Conant's Hickerson finished in fourth place with a throw of 36'8. Conant's Meir finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a throw of 35'6. Northside Junior Simon Lothschutz had an outstanding throw of 28'4. Northside Junior Elsadig Abdalla threw a personal best 20'8. Northside Junior Jordan Lozinski threw a personal best 20'5. Northside Junior Milos Popovic threw an outstanding 20'2. Northside Junior Riley Bowling threw a personal best 19'2.

 In the Varsity Long Jump, Conant's Sullivan won it with a jump of 18'3.75. Conant's Engerbretjen finished in second place with a jump of 17'8.75. Conant's Bean finished in third place with a jump of 17'8.5. Northside Senior Porter Abbey finished in fourth place with a jump of 17'8.5. DePaul Rams Wyatt finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 17'7.75.

 In the Varsity Triple Jump, Northside Senior Matt Osborne won it with a jump of 38'6. Conant's Bhavin finished in second place with a jump of 37'10.5. Conant's Engebretsen finished in third place with a jump of 37'9. Conant's Sullivan finished in fourth place with a jump of 37'4. Conant's Beam finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a jump of 34'4.

 In the Varsity High Jump, Conant's Graham won it with a jump of 6'0. Conant's Chaudhari finished in second place with a jump of 5'10. Conant's Ellefson finished in third place with a jump of 5'8. Northside Senior Matt Osbrone finished in fourth place with an outstanding jump of 5'0. Northside Senior Porter Abbey finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an outstanding leap of 4'8.

 In the Varsity Pole Vault, Conant's Ellefson won it with a vault of 10'6. Conant's Ahmed finished in second place with a vault of 8'0. Conant's Sullivan finished in third place with a vault of 7'0. Conant's Engebretson finished in fourth place with a vault of 5'0.

 In the Varsity 4x880 Yards Relay, Fenton won it with an official time of 8:58.80. Conant finished in second place with an official time of 9:20.30. Northside did not bring their Varsity 4x880 yards relay to Bensenville for the Buffalo Indoor Classic, because they competed last Saturday, and had a scheduled Track workout in preparation for the Indoor City Championships on Wednesday at River Park Track in Chicago, Illinois.

 In the Varsity 4x135 Yards Relay, Fenton won it with an official time of 1:05.20. Conant finished in second place with an official time of 1:05.80. Northside finished in THIRD place with an official time of 1:18.80. Northside Junior Riley Bowling ran the first leg of the relay with a 20.25 135 Yards split. Northside Junior Simon Lothschutz ran the second leg of the relay with a 18.13 135 Yards split. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran the third leg of the relay with a 18.93 135 Yards split. Northside Junior Elsadig Abdalla anchored Northside with a 21.33 135 Yards split for an official time of 1:18.80.

 In the Varsity Two Miles run, Fenton's Rodriguez won it with an official time of 10:39.50. Conant's Goyal finished in second place with an official time of 11:06.40. Fenton's Hernandez finished in third place with an official time of 11:31.80. Fenton's Ruiz finished in fourth place with an official time of 11:33.60. Fenton's Aguilar finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 12:14.0. Northside Senior Adrian Black scratched after his warm-up run. Black has not competed in the last three meets, and came back from a weekend ski trip injured.

 In the Varsity 50 Yards High Hurdles, Conant's Almodovar won it with an official time of 7.8. Northside Senior Porter Abbey finished in SECOND place with an outstanding time of 7.8. Northside Senior Matt Osborne finished in THIRD place with an outstanding time of 7.9. Conant's Altal finished in fourth place with an official time of 8.7. Northside Junior Christopher Tam did not show up to the meet, and was scratched from the event.     

 In the Varsity 50 Yards Dash, Conant's Graham won it with an official time of 5.90. Fenton's Casey finished in second place with an official time of 5.90. Conant's Chang finished in third place with an official time of 5.90. DePaul Ram's Wyatt finished in fourth place with an official time of 6.0. Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak finished in FIFTH Place to complete the scoring with a PERSONAL BEST time of 6.0. Northside Senior Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman ran an outstanding time of 6.40. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran a personal best time of 6.70.

 In the Varsity 880 Yards run, Conant's Sultan won it with an official time of 2:12.20. Fenton's Vazquez finished in second place with an official time of 2:14.40. Fenton's Nava finished in third place with an official time of 2:15.90. Fenton's Brown finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:16.60. Fenton's Falco finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 2:20.0. Northside Senior Michael Rupprecht did not attend the meet, and was scratched from the 880 yards run.

 In the Varsity 4x270 Yards Relay, Conant won it with an official time of 2:18.60. Fenton finished in second place with an official time of 2:20.40. Northside finished in THIRD place with an official time of 2:50.20. Northside Junior Riley Bowling ran a 43.20 270 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Junior Elsadig Abdalla ran a 41.78 270 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Junior Milos Popovic ran a 44.03 270 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Junior Gabriel Krell anchored Northside to Third place overall with a 40.86 270 yards split for an official time of 2:50.20.

 In the Varsity 440 Yards Dash, Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak won it on the final surge with an outstanding time of 61.60. Conant's Janczy finished in second place with an official time of 61.80. Conant's Pelayo finished in third place with an official time of 62.90. Conant's Dinkha finished in fourth place with an official time of 63.0. Conant's Engebretsen finished in fifth place with an official time of 64.0. Northside Junior Brendan Powers was scratched from the event.

 In the Varsity 50 Yards Intermediate Hurdles, Conant's Almodovar won it with an official time of 7.50. Northside Seniors Porter Abbey and Matt Osborne tied for SECOND place with an official time of 7.60. Conant's Altaf finished in fourth place with an official time of 8.4. Northside Junior Christopher Tam did not show up to the meet, and was scratched from the event.

 In the Varsity Mile run, Fenton's Rivas won it with a 4:55.50. Conant's Stanford finished in second place with a 5:18.60. Conant's Sapra finished in third place with an official time of 5:20.60. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto ran the first 800m in 2:34, and then ran the final 800m in 2:47 to finish in FOURTH place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 5:21.30. Sergio Soto dropped 15 seconds (5:36) off his best time! Fenton's Hernandez finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 5:22.70. Northside Senior Adrian Black scratched from the event.

 In the Varsity 220 Yards Dash, Fenton's Casey won it with an official time of 25.50. Conant's Brown finished in second place with an official time of 25.60. Conant's Herman finished in third place with an official time of 26.80. Conant's Cheema finished in fourth place with an official time of 27.20. Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 27.40. Northside Senior Harry Winters ran an official time of 30.40. Northside Seniors Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman and Elijah Hernandez scratched from the event.

 In the Varsity 4x405 Yards Relay, Conant won it with an official time of 3:36.70. Fenton finished in second place with an official time of 3:43.60. Northside finished in third place with an official time of 4:39.70. Northside Junior Riley Bowling ran a 71.75 405 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Junior Simon Lothschutz ran a 71.15 405 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Junior Milos Popovic ran a 72.96 405 yards split on the third leg of the relay.  In the Sophomore Shot Put, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby won it with a throw of 37'8. Fenton's DuVull finished in second place with a throw of 33'10. Conant's Korecky finished in third place with a throw of 33'7. Fenton's Varquez finished in fourth place with a throw of 29'2. Northside Sophomore Carlos Saldana finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with a PERSONAL BEST throw of 28'1. Conant's Gosche finished in sixth place with a throw of 27'4. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero threw a PERSONAL BEST 27'1. Northside Sophomore Jeffery Houston threw a personal best 23'6. Freshman Jonathan Liu was scratched from the event after missing the Team bus. 

 In the Sophomore Long Jump, Conant's Chen won it with a jump of 15'3.5. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus finished in SECOND place with a jump of 15'2.75. Conant's Chang finished in third place with a jump of 15'0. Conant's Pate finished in fourth place with a 14'10.5.

 In the Sophomore Triple Jump, Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan WON it with a personal best jump of 30'8.50. Conant's Chen finished in second place with a jump of 30'8.0.

 In the Sophomore High Jump, Conant's Barnes won it with a leap of 5'0. Northside Sophomore Asher Rappaport finished in SECOND place with a jump of 4'6. Northside Sophomore Methew Geevarghese finished in THIRD place with a jump of 4'6.

 In the Sophomore Pole Vault, Conant's Gacgacao won it with a vault of 5'0. Conant's Hasmi finished in second place with a vault of 5'0.

 In the Sophomore 4x880 Yards Relay, Conant won it with an official time of 10:01.3. Fenton finished in second place with an official time of 10:18.20. Northside finished in third place with an official time of 11:12.60. Northside Sophomore Cole Makuch ran the first leg of the relay with a personal best 880 yards split of 2:53.97. Northside Sophomore Jack Webster ran the second leg of the relay with a 880 yards split of 2:55.13. Northside Sophomore Vladimir Andrade ran an impressive 880 yards split of 2:38.31 on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke anchored Northside to THIRD place with a 2:45.18 880 yards split for an official time of 11:12.60.

 In the Sophomore 4x135 Yards Relay, Northside WON it with an official time of 1:08.60. Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby ran a 17.39 135 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a 15.68 135 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran a 18.11 135 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt anchored Northside to Victory with an impressive 17.36 135 yards split for an official time of 1:08.60. Conant finished in second place with an official time of 1:09.60. Fenton finished in third place with an official time of 1:09.70.

 In the Sophomore Two Miles run, Northside Sophomore Brian McManus ran the first mile in 5:43, and then ran the final mile in 5:49 to WIN it with an outstanding time of 11:32.70. Conant's Soriano finished in second place with an official time of 12:18.80. Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal ran the first mile in 6:07, and then ran the final mile in 6:20 to finish in THIRD place with a season best time of 12:27.80. Northside Freshman Justin Bologna ran the first mile in 7:09, and then ran the final mile in 7:16 to finish in FOURTH place overall with a season best time of 14:25.50. Freshman George McCoy was scratched from the event after missing the Team bus. 

 In the Sophomore 50 Yards High Hurdles, Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero won it with an oustanding time of 9.5. Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport finished in SECOND place with an outstanding time of 11.20. Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in THIRD place with an outstanding time of 11.30. Northside Freshman Elias Decker finished in FOURTH place with a PERSONAL BEST time of 12.80.

 In the Sophomore 50 Yards Dash, Conant's Chang won it with an official time of 6.30. Fenton's Cazares finished in second place with an official time of 6.30. Conant's Wozniak finished in third place with an official time of 6.30. Northside Freshman Nick Brown finished in FOURTH place overall with an outstanding time of 6.30. Northside Freshman Carel Jones finished in FIFTH place overall to complete the scoring with an official time of 6.60. Northside Sophomore Khizar Nandoliya ran an outstanding time of 6.60. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt ran an outstanding time of 6.70. The official scorer did not have an official time for Northside Sophomore Charles Jones. Based on his finish, the Northside coaching staff estimates it was between 6.60 and 6.70.

 In the Sophomore 880 yards run, Conant's Floyd won it with an official time of 2:32.40. Fenton's Irby finished in second place with an official time of 2:33.30. Fenton's Hernandez finished in third place with an official time of 2:36.60. Fenton's Lieggi finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:44.0. Fenton's Lodewick finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 2:45.90.

 In the Sophomore 4x270 Yards Relay, Fenton won it with an official time of 2:25.20. Conant finished in second place with an official time of 2:29.50. Northside finished in THIRD place with an official time of 2:36.40. Northside Sophomore Khizar Nandoliya ran a 38.38 270 yards split on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor ran a 38.51 270 yards split on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Charles Jones ran a 38.88 270 yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Methew Geevarghese anchored Northside with a 40.52 270 yards split for an official time of 2:36.40.

 In the Sophomore 440 Yards Dash, Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt was tripped, fell down, and got back up, and came from behind to WIN it with an outstanding time of 64.10. Fenton's Williams finished in second place with an official time of 64.90. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus finished in THIRD place with an official time of 66.10. DePaul Rams Swartz finished in fourth place with an official time of 73.80. DePaul Rams Harrison finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 75.60.

 In the Sophomore 50 Yards Intermediate Hurdles, Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport won it with an outstanding time of 8.50. Northside Sophomore Jack Nolan finished in second place with an official time of 9.10. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero finished in third place with an official time of 9.10. Conant's Connolly finished in fourth place with an official time of 9.10. Northside Freshman Elias Decker finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9.30.

 In the Sophomore Mile run, Conant's Digioia won it with an official time of 5:15.50. DePaul Rams Sophomore Laluz finished in second place with an official time of 5:36.80. Fenton's Whyte finished in third place with an official time of 5:42.40. Conant's Schneider finished in fourth place with an official time of 5:43.10. Conant's Floyd finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 5:43.30. Northside Sophomore Jakob Lemke ran the first 800m in 2:51, and was on pace to break his PR (5:48), but stopped a lap early, and had to re-start, and finished the final 800m in 2:59 for an outstanding time of 5:50.20.

Conant's Wozniak finished in third place with an official time of 28.10. Conant's Chen finished in fourth place with an official time of 28.50. Fenton's Jaramilo finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 28.70. Northside Sophomore Charles Jones ran an official time of 29.70. Northside Sophomores Methew Geevarghese and Khizar Nandoliya scratched from the event.

 In the Sophomore 4x405 Yards Relay, Conant won it with an official time of 4:01.80. Fenton finished in second place with an official time of 4:05.90. Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby ran the first leg of the relay in a 405 Yards split of 61.38. Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal ran a 67.06 405 Yards splt on the second leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Mason Sotomayor ran a 62.26 405 Yards split on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Jack Webster dropped the baton, recovered, and ran a 70.23 405 Yards split to anchor Northside to THIRD place with an official time of 4:20.90.
