 In the Varsity 4x800m Relay, Northside Senior Max McCoy ran 200m splits of 30, 33 (63 400m), 34 (1:37 600m), and then ran the final 200m in a NEGATIVE split of 33 seconds for a personal best 2:11.22 800m split, and made a perfect exchange to Matthew Gomez.

 Northside Junior Matthew Gomez ran 200m splits of 34, 34 (68 400m), 35 (1:43 600m), and then ran the final 200m in a NEGATIVE split of 33 seconds for an outstanding 800m split of 2:16.34, and then made a nice exchange to Troy Hu.

 Whitney Young missed the exchange, and Northside took the lead on the third leg of the relay.

 Northside Junior Troy Hu ran 200m splits of 31, 34 (65 400m), 35 (1:40 600m), and then ran the final 200m in an EVENT split of 35 seconds for a personal best 800m split of 2:15.62, and then made a perfect exchane to Alex Ortiz.

 Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz anchored Northside to VICTORY with 200m splits of 32, 33 (65 400m), 36 (1:41 600m), and then ran the final 200m in a NEGATIVE split of 33 seconds for an outstanding 800m split of 2:14.11 for an official time of 8:58.77.

 In the Group B Competition, Chicago Lindbloom ran an official time of 9:01.89. Chicago Von Stuben ran an official time of 9:11.41. The next fastest 4x800m Relay time came from the Group A Competition.

 Chicago Mather finished in second place in Group A with an official time of 9:13.14. Chicago Walter Payton finished in third place in Group A with an official time of 9:33.57. Chicago Taft finished in fourth place in Group A with an official time of 9:43.35. Steinmetz finished in fifth place with an official time of 9:59.27. Perspectives Calumet finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 9:59.31.

 Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak came into the Indoor City Championships with Northside's fastest 50 yards dash time, a 6.0. The fastest 55m time for Northside in 2015 was a 7.31 (Gabriel Jiminez-Ekhman).

 In the Varsity 55m Dash, Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak ran the fastest 55m dash time of the Indoor season for Northside with an outstanding time of 7.11.

 In the Varsity 200m Dash, Northside Junior Philip Wdowiak ran an outstanding time of 25.48.

 After recovering from a difficult injury, Wdowiak competed in his second consecutive Track meet. He has a wide range of events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m), and is a tremendous asset for all of the relays. Northside is looking forward to his outdoor season.

 In the Varsity 55m Hurdles, Northside Junior Justin Washington finished in sixth place overall to earn All City Honors, and complete the scoring with an outstanding time of 8.68.

 In the Varsity 1600m run, Taft Senior Abraham Tobias won it with an official time of 4:35.66. Northside Senior Malcolm Grba ran 200m splits of 34, 35 (69 400m), 36 (1:45 600m), 35 (2:20 800m), 33 (2:53 1000m), 35 (3:28 1200m), 35 (4:03 1400m), and then ran the final 200m in a NEGATIVE split of 34 seconds to finish in SECOND place with an outstanding time of 4:37.79. Malcolm Grba was awarded a MEDAL for finishing in second place overall. Whitney Young Junior Charles Sandberg earned a Medal by finishing in third place overall with an outstanding time of 4:50.95.

 Grba also played three positions (Pitcher, Centerfield, Leftfield) in a double-header against Niles North for the Northside Varsity Baseball Team the day before the Indoor City Championships on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

 Malcolm Grba striked out four batters in two innings of work on the pitching mound. He also had a good day in the batters box. He broke up a no-hitter with a single in the first game of the double-header, and then immediately stole second base like a true track and field athlete.

 In the second game, Grba helped Northside get their first win of the year in baseball, by hitting a line drive to right field for a double, and then scoring the go-ahead run.

 In the Varsity 400m Dash, Northside Senior Tom Frejowski finished second in his heat, and fourth overall with an official time of 55.04

 In the Varsity 4x200m Relay, Northside Junior Steven Kataba ran a 25.27 200m split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Keith Jones. Northside Junior Keith Jones ran an impressive 23.86 200m split on the second leg of the relay, and made a perfect exchange to Justin Washington. Northside Junior Justin Washington ran a 25.35 200m split, and made a nice exchange to Garret Barch. Northside Junior Garret Barch anchored Northside to 8th place in Chicago with an impressive 25.14 200m split for an official time of 1:40.36. Kataba, Jones, Washington, and Barch are now within 4 seconds of the Northside School record (1:36.50) for the 4x200m Relay.   imageimageimage
