 On Saturday, March 28, 2015, the Indoor State Championships (Illinois Top Times) took place at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The energy in the stadium was electric, with a sold-out stadium crowd filled to its capacity, with people standing in the upper deck just to get a glimpose of the meet. The stadium featured a jumbotron video screen, showing the results of all the events throughout the meet, and a play-by-play announcer who gave live commentary on every event that took place.

 Danny Rosen received his race numbers upon arrival, and was placed in a large turf room adjancent to the stadium to put away belongings, and set up aTeam Camp. Right next to the turf room,a special gymnasium was used for event check-in, and to run warm-ups. The athletics had access to stands on the main floor, that were roped off from the Track.

 Northside witnessed an incredible Track meet throughout the day, as they waited for the main event, the 800m run.

 Northside would like to Congratulate Glenbrook North on winning the Indoor State Title in the 4x800m Relay. Glenbrook North hosts Northside for three Track meets every season, and is the alma mater of Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon.

 To reach the Medal Stand, and earn All State Honors, an athlete or relay has to finish in the Top 8.

 In the Indoor State 800m run Final, Barrington's Konrad Eiring won it with an official time of 1:56.82. Goldby's Matt Jacobs finished in second place with an official time of 1:57.32. Springfield's Heath Warren finished in third place with an official time of 1:57.88. Evanston's Carl Klamm finished in fourth place with an official time of 1:58.45. Jefferson's Luis Davila finished in fifth place with an official time of 1:58.47. Plainfield South's John Partee finished in sixth place with an official time of 2:00.81. Northside Junior Danny Rosen ran the first 200m in 29 seconds, and then ran the next 200m in 31 seconds for a 400m split of 60 seconds. Danny Rosen then ran the next 200m in 32 seconds for a 600m split of 1:32. Danny Rosen then ran the final 200m in a NEGATIVE split of 29.18 seconds to finish in SEVENTH place with an outstanding time of 2:01.18. Danny Rosen ran the first 400m in 60 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 61 seconds for an outstanding time of 2:01.18. Danny Rosen was awarded a MEDAL for placing in the top 8 in Illinois!

 Grayslake North's Dylan Ponomar completed the scoring by finishing in eighth place with an official time of 2:02.49. Taft's Abraham Tobias finished in ninth place with an official time of 2:02.67. Stevenson's Jared Borowsky finished in tenth place with an official time of 2:04.56. Jones College Prep's Markiyan Protsiv finished in eleventh place with an official time of 2:06.00. Plainfield South's Kenny Peters finished in 12th place with an official time of 2:06.84.

 On Friday, March 27, 2015, Northside Head Coach Jon Gordon, Assistant Coaches Patrick O'Connor, Amy O'Connor, and Northside Junior Danny Rosen are traveling to Bloomington, Illinois for the Indoor State Championships (Illinois Top Times).

 The Mustangs will be staying at Eastland Suites in Bloomington, Illinois. The suites contain two floors of rooms with a staircase, two bathrooms, Plasma Televisions, and a full size kitchen with a large refigerator and microwave. A special thanks to Northside Principal Kelly Mest and Athletic Director Andrew Mayer for the wonderful accomodations.

 After a trip to Olive Garden, Northside will be well rested for the Indoor State Championships.

 On Saturday, March 28, 2015, the Indoor State Championships takes place at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Indoor State is also going to be broadcasted live on the internet.

 The stadium at Illinois Wesleyan University features a 200m Track, multipurpose room for Team camps, warm-up room for athletes adjacent to the track, upper deck seating, a video screen, showing the results of all the events throughout the meet, and a play-by-play announcer who will give live commentary on every event that takes place.

 Northside Junior Danny Rosen has been issued race number 1099, and will race Barrington Konrad Eiring, Springfield Heath Warren, Plainfield John Partee, Evanston Carl Klamm, Jones College Prep Markiyan Protsiv, Taft Abraham Tobias, Jefferson Luis Davila, Plainfield South Kenny Peters, Grayslake North Dylan Ponomar, Stevenson Jared Borowsky, and Jacobs Matt Goldby in the 800m run for the Indoor State Title.

 On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, the Northside College Prep Sophomore Freshman TEAM traveled to Bensenville, Illinois to take on Lake Park, St.Joseph, West Chicago, Brooks, I.C. Catholic Prep, and host Fenton in the 37th Annual Emil Ostberg Sophomore Indoor Championships.

 The Emil Ostberg Sophomore Indoor Championships is named after three former Fenton athletes, who earned All-American honors during their collegiate careers. Jim Nichols (All-American in the 800m run), Emil Ostberg (All-American in the 200m Dash), Art Seimers (All-American in the Mile, and brother of Fenton legend Chris Seimers). 

 To earn All-American honors, a collegiate athlete has to place in the Top 8 in their event at the NCAA National Track & Field Championships. At the Emil Ostberg Championships, Plaques were awarded to the Top 5 individual finishers and the Top 4 Relays in every event. 

 Fenton features a 135 yards track. Athletes have the privilege of knowing their racing splits every 135 yards for 26 laps in the Two miles run.  

 All of the events are in Yards at Fenton. As a result, the athletes race 3,510 yards for the Two Miles run, which is actually 3,209.54 Meters. The athletes race 1,755 yards for the mile, which is actually 1,604.772 Meters. The athletes race 880 yards for the half-mile, which is actually 804.672 Meters. The athletes race 440 yards for the quarter, which is actually 402.336 Meters. The athletes race 220 yards for the 200, which is actually 201.168 Meters.    

 Northside was also awarded 16 plaques for individual events and relays. Plaques are awarded to the top five athletes in individual events, and top four teams in relays.

 Lake Park won the Ostberg Sophomore Indoor Championships with 177 points. West Chicago finished in second place with 104 points. Fenton finished in third place with 67 points. Northside finished in fourth place with 48 points, and posted victories over: 5. IC Catholic Prep (41 points), 6. Brooks (35.5 points), and St. Joseph (15.5 points).

  Individual Events were scored 10-8-6-4-2-1.  Relays were scored 10-8-6-4-2.

 In the Shot Put, Lake Park's Chago Basson won it with a throw of 51'7.5. Basson threw it into the high jump pit area, and they had to stop the high jump competition until he completed all of his throws. Fenton's Ivan Rodriquez finished in second place with a throw of 39'3. Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in THIRD place with an outstanding throw of 38'3. Jacob Cosby was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in third place overall. West Chicago's Justin Ross finished in fourth place with a throw of 37'10. Fenton's Angelo Duvall finished in fifth place with a throw of 34'1.5. West Chicago's Rudy Cardiel finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a throw of 32'10.5. Northside Sophomore Carlos Saldana threw an outstanding 26'3.5

 In the High Jump, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a leap of 5'2. Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport made three outstanding attempts at the opening height, was unable to clear it.

 In the Long Jump, Northside Sophomore Brian McManus finished in seventh place with a personal best jump of 16'2.25. Northside Freshman Elias Decker jumped a personal best 12'5.

 In the Triple Jump, Northside Freshman Elias Decker jumped a personal best 25'8.

 In the 50 Yards High Hurdles Prelims, Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport ran an outstanding time of 8.60. Northside Sophomore Christian Guerrero hurdled an official time of 11.10. 

 In the 50 Yards Dash Prelims, Northside Freshman Carel Jones tied his personal best with a 6.30. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran an official time of 6.50.

 In the 50 Yards Int. Hurdles Prelims, Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport QUALIFIED for the FINALS by finishing third in his heat with outstanding time of 8.50. Northside Freshman Elias Decker hurdled an personal best time of 9.20.  

 In the 4x880 Yards Relay, Northside Sophomore Vladimir Andrade ran a 880 yards split of 2:38.86, and made a nice exchange to Freshman Mason Sotomayor. Mason Sotomayor ran an outstanding 880 yards split of 2:40.00, and made a perfect exchange to Freshman George McCoy. George McCoy ran a personal best 880 yards split of 2:44.91, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Jakob Lemke. Jakob Lemke anchored the Mustangs to FOURTH place with an impressive 2:35.34 880 yards split for an official time of 10:40.11.     

 In the 4x135 Yards Relay, Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby ran a 16.46 135 yards split on the first leg of the relay, but had trouble making the exchange to Nick Brown. Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a 16.98 135 yards split on the second leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Carel Jones. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran a 17.59 135 yards split on the third leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Josh Borgwardt. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt anchored the Mustangs to 7th place with a 17.48 135 yards split for an official time of 1:08.31.

 In the Two miles run, a year ago (2014), Brian McManus finished in fifth place at the Ostberg Indoor Championships. In 2015, Northside Sophomore Brian McManus WON it with an official time of 11:46.10. Brian McManus ran the first mile in 5:45, and then ran the final mile in 6:01 for an official time of 11:46.10. Brian McManus was awarded a PLAQUE for finishing in FIRST place overall. Fenton's Christian Sanchez finshed in second place with an official time of 11:50.70. Fenton's Brian Hernandez finished in third place with an official time of 11:51.40. Lake Park's Andrew Beugnet finished in fourth place with an official time of 11:53.20. West Chicago's Izzy Cruz finished in fifth place with an official time of 11:55.30. Northside Freshman Kyle Lowenthal finished in sixth place to complete the scoring with a PERSONAL BEST time of 12:10.20. Kyle Lowenthal ran the first mile in 5:53, and then ran the final mile in 6:17 for an outstanding time of 12:10.20. Kyle Lowenthal dropped 17 seconds (12:27.80) for a personal best time of 12:10.20.

 In the 50 Yards High Hurdles Finals, Lake Park's Dan Spencer won it with an official time of 7.20.

 In the 50 Yards Dash Finals, Lake Park's Darius Allen won it with an official time of 5.90

 In the "Jim Nichols" 880 Yards run, Lake Park's Jason Joda won it with an official time of 2:16.40. West Chicago's Danny McComb finished in second place with an official time of 2:20.70. Lake Park's Alex Jorgensen finished in third place with an official time of 2:20.90. Brook's Javier Fausto finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:22.70. Northside Sophomore Sergio Soto outkicked St. Joseph Emmanuel Lopez (2:25.90) to finish in FIFTH place overall with an outstanding time of 2:23.70. Sergio Soto was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in Fifth place overall. Northside Sophomore Jack Webster missed the Team bus to take an exam, and with the help of his parents, he almost made it in time for the 880 yards run. He arrived at the starting line moments after the gun was fired. Northside was able to take advantage of his help in 440 yards dash. 

 In the 4x270 Yards Relay, Northside Sophomore Vladimir Andrade ran an impressive 37.99 270 Yards split on the first leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Sophomore Christian Guerrero. Christian Guerrero ran a 39.31 270 Yards split on the second leg of the relay, and made a good exchange to Freshman Mason Sotomayor. Mason Sotomayor ran a 38.75 270 Yards split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Khizar Nandoliya. Sophomore Khizar Nandoliya anchored the Mustangs to seventh place with a 40.39 270 Yards split for an official time of 2:36.44.

 In the 440 Yards Dash, in 2014, Josh Borgwardt finished in fifth place. In 2015, Lake Park's Alec Verven won it with an official time of 62.10. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt finished in SECOND place with an official time of 62.30. Josh was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in second place overall. Northside Sophomore Jack Webster ran an official time of 70.40.

 In the 50 Yards Int. Hurdles Finals, Northside Freshman Asher Rappaport finished in fifth place with a outstanding time of 8.4. Asher Rappaport was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in fifth place overall!

 In the "Art Siemers Mile", in 2014, Kyle Friedler finished in sixth place with a 5:27.20. In 2015, Northside Sophomore Kyle Friedler finished in THIRD place with an outstanding time of 4:55.70. Friedler DROPPED 32 SECONDS (5:27) on the 135 Yards Track from the 2014 Ostber Indoor Championships! Kyle Frielder ran the first 800m in 2:24, and then ran the final 800m in 2:31 for an official time of 4:55.70. Kyle Friedler was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in third place overall. Northside Sophomore Alex Ortiz finished in FIFTH place with an outstanding time of 5:06.10 on the 135 yards Track. Alex Ortiz ran the first 800m in 2:26, and then ran the final 800m in 2:40 for an official time of 5:06.10. Alex Ortiz was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in fifth place overall.

 In the "Emil Ostberg 220 Yards Dash", Northside Sophomore Jacob Cosby finished in fifth place with an official time of 27.10. Jacob Cosby was awarded an engraved PLAQUE for finishing in fifth place overall. Northside Sophomore Josh Borgwardt ran an outstanding time of 28.90

 In the 4x405 Yards Relay, Northside Freshman Nick Brown ran a personal best 405 Yards split of 58.31 on the first leg of the relay. Northside Freshman Carel Jones ran a personal best 405 Yards split of 61.48 on the second leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Kyle Friedler ran an impressive 405 Yards split of 59.73 on the third leg of the relay. Northside Sophomore Brian McManus anchored the Mustangs past Lake Park (4:01.90) to finish in FOURTH place with an outstanding 405 Yards split of 61.41 for an official time of 4:01.20. Nick Brown, Carel Jones, Kyle Friedler, and Brian McManus were awarded engraved PLAQUES for finishing in third place overall.
