Charlton County Baseball

Charlton will travel to Hawkinsville this Friday to play a 2 out of 3 series against Hawkinsville.  Game 1 will be at 3:00 PM on May 6th, Game 2 at 6:00 PM on May 6th.  If necessary, game 3 will be played on Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 PM in Hawkinsville as well.

Charlton outhit Irwin but lose 8-7 to finish 4th and they will travel to Hawkinsville next Friday to begin the GHSA state playoffs.

Michael Taylor:  1 for 3 with 1 home run (2nd of season), 1 run scored and 3 RBI

Charlton will travel this Friday to Ocilla, Ga. to take on the Irwin County Indians.  The winner of the one game showdown gets the honor of 3rd seed and the loser gets the 4th seed for the upcoming GHSA state playoffs.  Game time is 5:30 PM.

Charlton Qualifies for State Playoffs in Baseball for first time in a very long time.  The Indians win first game in dramatic fashion and cruise in second game.

Aubrey Shivers pitched 7 2/3 innings allowing 2 earned runs.  Ryan Turner pitched the final out in the 8th to get the Win on the Mound

Jacob Baxter:  1 for 2 with 2 RBI

Chris Smith:  1 for 4 with 1 Home Run (3rd on season), 3 runs scored and 1 RBI

Drew Gowen:  1 for 1 with a triple and 2 runs scored

Ryan Young:  1 for 3 with 2 runs scored

Michael Taylor:  1 for 2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI

Cody Warren:  1 for 3

Winning Pitcher:  Jesse King, complete game, 6 innings, allowing 1 run while striking out 5

Charlton lose 3-0 in 6 innings to Baldwin.  The game was called due to lightning in the area.
