Charlton travelled to Irwin County to begin the Class 2A region schedule on Wednesday night.  Ryan Young took the mound for the Indians.  Young proved he was up to the task.  Young allowed just two hits and had six strikeouts in 5 innings of work.  The Indians once again had to come from behind for the win.  In the 3rd Young gave up a lead-off hit and after two passed balls Irwin had a runner at 3rd with no outs.  Young would strike out the next batter.  A fly ball to center field found Josh Crosby who fired a strike to the plate with the runner at third tagging.  The runner seemed to be thrown out but was called safe.  Charlton would answer in the 4th.  Jesse King delivered a 2 out hit, followed by a hit by Richard Dasher.  An error by Irwin’s third baseman would allow J. King to tie the game.  With the bases loaded in the 6th, J. King delivers again with base hit up the middle scoring Ryan Young.  Charlton would tack on 4 more in the inning and never look back.  Scott Beasley came on in relief of Young retiring 6 of 7 batters faced, giving Charlton the win!  4-0 on the season, 1-0 in region play.
