Big Al is bringing his well regarded coaching clinic to Oakland on Sunday February 14 (see above). Attendance is FREE for Alameda Little League Managers and Coaches. All you need to do is register to the link below. The morning session is recommended for Managers/Coaches for T-Ball, Farm and A. The afternoon session is for AA, AAA and Majors. Don't miss your opportunity to see Big Al and gain valuable insights and great practice tips.

SUNDAY EVALUATIONS ARE ON AS PLANNED

Sunday, January 24rd

Check In for 9 year olds begins at: 8:30am
9s: A-L at 9am, M-Z at 10 am
8’s: A-L at 11am, M-Z at 1pm
7’s: ALL 7 year olds at 2pm

Check in for 9 year olds begins at 8:30am. All other ages please report 1/2 hour early than your scheduled time to check in and warm-up.  Fortunately we got a break in the rain and fields are playable. Rain gear may be appropriate, just in case.

We will be posting to this website throughout the day  if conditions worsten. Plan to report at your group's scheduled time unless you hear otherwise from this website.

Operation Dress-Up will return to the fields this weekend during evaluations to collect gently used baseball clothes and equipment. This is a student-run organization that helps students in need. Please Join us for Joey's Celebration of Life

Joseph Jonathan LoParo, beloved son of Joseph and Laura LoParo, passed away Nov. 17, 2015, at Alta Bates Hospital with his father, mother, brother Charlie and sister Gabrielle by his side. He is the grandson of Jack and Clara Peralta and Charles and Lillian LoParo. Joey was born Aug. 25, 1987, in Alameda. Joey attended Otis Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School and Alameda High School. Joey was a passionate sports player and fan. He played Little League baseball from 1994 to 2000, and played for the Alameda World Team in Brazil in 2003.

Joey graduated from Healds College in San Francisco, receiving his degree in computer networking and firewalls. Joey moved to Seattle in 2012 working for Target Corp. and returned to Alameda in 2013.

Joey was a dedicated pool player. He and his father played on several leagues a week and he enjoyed their yearly trips to Las Vegas to play in the National BCA Tournament. Joey was looking forward to teaching his friend and doctor, Dr. Gary Cecchi to play pool.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Basilica, 1109 Chestnut St. in Alameda.
