Unknown Talent (UT) took advantage of the Invaders continued lack of execution and energy to coast to a 19-6 victory. Again, the Invaders showed their propensity to give up the big play on relatively simple plays, such as; fly routes and screens. The Invaders were able to salvage one score when QB Michael Hawkins hit TE Matthew Anderson with a 30 yard touchdown pass. With the Metro Cup coming up, will the Invaders snap out of their funk?

Dozia Edges Invaders 12-8

Posted by Larry Mills at Apr 28, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Dozia All-Stars edged the Invaders 12-8 to come up with the first of their two wins for the day. Dozia came up with the first big play of the game, when their left cornerback (Pee Wee) picked off a deflected pass and ran it back 60 yards for a touchdown to give them a 6-0 halftime lead. Joseph Chaney Jr., replaced an injured Michael Hawkins at QB and led the Invaders on a scoring drive to tie the score. George Wyatt kicked the 2-point conversion to give the Invaders an 8-6 lead. However, the Invaders defense continued to be porous and allowed Dozia to catch a short pass and literally run through it for a 50 yard score to take the lead and steal a 12-8 victory. The Invaders took a couple of lumps this weekend, but as they always do, they will bounce back strong and finish on top.
