*Which type of player are you?

Average Players believe their errors were caused by things beyond their control (the weather, the umpire, the coach, the field…). Average players blame outside factors for the poor result showing they were not skilled enough to anticipate it, dominate it or learn from it.

Top Players believe they are responsible for the errors. Top performers focus relentlessly on their own performance and on ways to control that performance and as a result give no power to outside forces (like umpires, weather, schedules, fight with parents or boyfriend)

END OF YEAR IN REVIEW~ANNUAL NEWSLETTER

Wisconsin Twisters Host 1st Annual Mid Sumer Bash in August

This event turned out to be another huge success for the Twisters and teams that participated in our first Bash Tournament. The rain came and we swept it away, getting in a full tournament and adding special events for all to take part. The Home Run Derby was a great way to let off some steam, have fun and enjoy the moment of our young athletes taking to the field. Our parents were shown appreciation by a carnation ceremony directed by teams and players. MVP medals were vamped up and we always enjoy having the teams come together and hand out this special award. Walking tacos will be on the menu for all future tourneys, they were a huge success and sooo good.  We appreciate all the coaches, umpires, tournament directors, teams, parents, concession crew and fans that will make this tournament another great addition for years to come....we look forward to next year! Hope to see you all there.

Twister High School Heroics

Twisters played a large role in the years Sectional, Regional and State High School softball tournaments. Beginning with Cudahy H.S. Katie I. was chosen for 1st Team All Conference. At Oak Creek H.S. Alli S., Dana D, and Nicole S. helped the team win Regionals. Racine Lutheran has several players who contributed to their Sectional, Regional Championships and Place at State Tournament ~ Division 4; Kim G. (1st Team All Conference, 2nd Team Outfield All County), Devon H. (1st Team All Conference) Sam K (1st Team All Conference-2nd Team Pitcher All County) Brianna M. (1st Team All Conference, 1st Team Infield All Conference), South Milwaukee H.S. advanced to the State Quarterfinals ~ Div.1 with Pitcher Ali P. (2nd Team All Conference), winning Sectionals and Regionals. Sussex Hamilton was lead by pitcher  Emily J. (Honorable Mention as a freshman-Pitcher) and from Waterford H.S. another Twister DelanyK received recognition (1st Team All Conference Outfield, 1st Team All County Outfield) Union Grove High School  advanced through Sectional and Regional Championships to quarterfinals at State ~ Division 2. This team had Alecia F. (Honorable Mention Catcher All Area) and Amber J. (1st Team All Conference-Infield, 1st Team All County and Honorable Mention All Area) playing from the Twisters. It was really exciting to watch our players advance to such heights at their high schools this season. Congratulations to all who worked hard and made their Freshman, JV and Varsity Teams. All players from the 14U-18U played a huge role in their high school programs and we are all so proud of you. We look forward to watching you all next season....

Twister Coaches- Our Young Coaches Continue to give back~

In this edition we want to thank a couple our assistants for their hard work all season long. On the two 14u division teams we have two young coaches who dedicate hours of their time to help Head Coach DiAnna J. and players survive the long season. First, Brandon B has been volunteering his time to bench coach his sister's 14u team along with his dad Bill for over 3 years. This means practices, helping with scorebook, stats, line-ups, on-field decisions. Brandon is now attending Parkside University and we applaud him for giving his time to help this team (and his sister) to be be scuccssful (and a hand for dad too).  Brandon is now working with the University of Parksides Coach Flip and their Collegiate team, as well. Way to go Brandon! Also, helping this team be a huge success are Assistant Coach Dave D. His dedication since the 12U years to present have been beyond the call of duty. Being a Dad to daughter and pitcher Dana D, and giving his time and dedication to the players and coaching staff, his steadfast ability to keep everyone focused and in the game is one of his great attributes. On the other 14u team, another young assistant coach, Callie helps out. She attends Stout University during the school year and is home to help with practices, leagues and tournaments during the spring/summer season. First a Twister player, and now a coach, she has been with the organization since it first began. Callie coaches 1st base and helps with on field decisions and lineups as well as being a sounding board for Head Coach Steve and other assistants. Assitants Coach Dave C. and Guy D. have been a huge asset over the season by working with pitching staff and catchers. Along with helping at all practices, games and tournaments. Both pitchers dads (Lauren C. and Emily D) these coaches have given endless time and energy throughout many seasons with the Twisters and there hard work is much appreciated.

more to come...
