Falcons lose on shot at the buzzer

Posted by Antiwan Easley at Feb 16, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Armstrong traveled to Hopkins High School to take on a tough Classic Lake opponent. The Falcons came out very strong and battled in the first half. With many lead changes, the Falcons went into halftime down by 2. Amanda Viehauser had 17 points and 12 rebounds and led a strong second half performance that saw the Falcons make many impressive plays. Nikki Brown and Kristi Loobeck were able to give the Falcons great minutes to replace Stephanie Loobeck that did not play due to injury. With very little time left in the game the Viehauser hit a free-throw to tie the game but on the second shot Hopkins grabbed the rebound pushed it up the floor and was able to throw up a prayer that went off the backboard from the top of the key to win the game. The coaching staff was very pleased with how the girls played and felt they deserved to win that game. Good job girls and keep up the great play.
