JV - Young Falcons Sweep Lightning
Opening day for the Baby Falcons went well this past Saturday. The young team swept both games from the cross town rival, Cypress Bay 7-1 and an 8-7 come from behind win.
In game 1 Alejandro Garcia (1-0) pitched a jem. He got his first win as a Falcon going 5 2/3 giving up 5 hits, 1 walk and 1 run. Scotty Swatscheno came in and recorded the last out of the game. Kevin Mora and Brandon Escalante both got 2 hits with Mora driving in 2 runs.
In game 2 Peter Guarner got the start and had a rough go of it early. Scotty Swatscheno (1-0) came in to settle everything down and pitched the final 3 innings giving up no hits, no walks and no runs to get the win. The Sarmiento twins, Alex and David, each had 1 hit and both drove in 2 runs. Oscar Rodriguez also had a hit and stole 2 bases.
The JV (2-0) will try to continue their winning ways when they get going again this Wednesday night at home against St. Thomas at 6:30pm.
