Warren Butler calls meeting to order at 6:45
Secretary Minutes: July minutes presented and passed unanimously
Treasurers Report: Beginning balance $3,270.90. Ending balance $4,136.41
Topics Discussed: Evaluation feedback was very positive-38 new players.
Randy brought up a need to change draft to help Wednesday night league.
Discussed changing sign up form to include more info.
Warren brought up need to discuss changes with electronic scoring.
Electronic scoring – Scott is still working on this and training has begun. It was
approved for Scott to purchase android devices and chargers. Approx. cost $300.00.
First aid – discussed a need to offer a course to those interested. Warren Butler will
update.
Banquet: November 14, 2016(Monday) – doors open 6:30 – Program 7:00 -9:30. Sidelines Grille,
Canton, GA
Discussed possibility of getting sponsor or multiple sponsors for banquet -$1,000 -$3,000.
Also discussed getting guest speakers for banquet.
Fall Schedule: Starts August 8, 2016
Ends October 26, 2016

CSSA Board of Directors Meeting
July 11, 2016

Present: Dewey Hom, Commissioner; Warren Butler, Vice Commissioner; Glenn Peacock, Secretary; Ken Taylor, Treasurer; Mike Parson, American League Director; Ron O’Donnell, Master League Director; Ray DeLuca, Senior League Director; Jerry Bohacek, Legends League Director; Scott Parrish, Player Representative

Dewey Hom called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm

Secretary Minutes: June minutes presented and passed unanimously.

Treasurers Report: Financial report emailed to members. Beginning Balance $13,502. Ending Balance $3270.90.

Revenue: $1085.03
Expenses: $11,316.30

Topics discussed:
Dewey Hom thanked Bruce Stokes for his work on running the Lowell Lawson League and wishes Bruce Stokes the very best in the future.
Evaluation/Tryouts: July 12, 2016 7:00 pm

All evaluations/tryouts will be held at Hopgood Park.
Season starts August 8th and must end October 26th.
Electronic Scorekeeping:
Training is being scheduled. Troubleshooting is still being done. Implementation of program will not take effect until all problems are resolved.
Summer League: Mike Parson communicated to the Board that the Summer Softball league was a success. 30-40 players participated.
Banquet: The fall banquet is to be held November 14th (Monday) Doors open 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm at Sidelines Grille in Canton, Georgia. Program will begin at 7:00 pm
League Updates: Draft dates for the Fall League
American League: 25th of July
Senior League: 25th of July
Masters League: 26th of July
Legends League: 26th of July
Legacy League: TBD
Lowell Lawson: 27th of July
Times and place will be determined by individual Directors.
Other business: The Lowell Lawson League discussed making rule changes. More input from managers and players will be obtained before any vote on changes.
CRPA will close all the fields from September 19th through the 23rd.
Next meeting 6:30 pm August 1, 2016.

Topics discussed:
Electronic Scorekeeping:
The league implementation of Electronic Scorekeeping will be used during this summer abbreviated league schedule. Training is still ongoing.
First aid kits: Kits are being put together. Kits will contain but not limited to: ice packs, band aids, scissors, elastic wraps, alcohol and aspirin/Tylenol. Kits will be in possession of the umpires.
Player Evaluations: Open to both men and women.
July 12 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m.
July 19 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m.
July 23 (Saturday) 10:00 a.m.

Start of Fall 2016 will be August 8th, 2016
Womens League: The Association is presently recruiting women (40 and older) who would like to form a league. Anyone interested should contact any member of the association so that we can start compiling a list of potential players. League play will begin this fall season. Tentative date for start of play will be August 8th, 2016.
Summer League: Mike Parson is coordinating this league. Approximately 70 current players have expressed an interest in playing in the newly created Summer League. Games will be played starting June 14th, 21st, and the 28th. All on Tuesday night. A doubleheader will be played each Tuesday. A $30.00 fee per player will be the cost. Only one umpire will be used. A draft will occur among the players who sign up. Please notify your current manager if you are a definite. This league was created for players wishing to keep playing and to stay in shape and maintain softball skills. This is strictly a fun league, as no awards or statistics will be awarded or kept.

League Updates:
American League: A good competitive season.
Senior League: Accolades to managers and players for a good season.
Masters League: Losing two managers. A very competitive season.
Legends League: Competitive season.
Legacy League: Competitive season.
Lowell Lawson: Competitive season.
Other business: The fall banquet is scheduled for November 14th, 2016. Venue is still being sought.
A motion was made by Ron O’Donnell to accept Neil Horner as the new manager of the State Farm Tuesday night team. Pass unanimously.
Board Opening: Effective July 11th an opening for position of CSSA Secretary will be needed. Anyone wishing to get involved in our organization should contact either their League Director or any other board member expressing their desire to be considered immediately.
Next meeting 6:30 pm July 11, 2016.
