This year coach Brian Potoshnik from All-Star Sports Academy will hold the tryouts and rate players. The top 11 players will be selected for Thunder and the next 11-12 will play for Lightning.
Athletes are selected for try-out by invitation only and will be notified via email after the Mercer Island Little League-Show Your Stuff make-up on Jan 30th.
The following criteria is used to recieve a try-out invitation:
a) Played on a Mercer Island Select Baseball team the previous year b) Played on a Mercer Island Little League All-Star team the previous year c) Depending on the number of players from both a and b, athletes with outstanding MILL Show Your Stuff scores will recieve an invitation.
While the specifics vary each year, in general, Mercer Island Select strives to invite every kid they believe has a reasonable chance of making an ITT team.
