Save the Dave - Dinner, Dance Benefit
The Forest Hills Youth Activities Association currently serves more than 1200 children in our community with Little League baseball (5-12 year olds,) Pony leagues (12-17 year olds,) girls softball as well as soccer and basketball leagues. Most programs run at full capacity. Baseball enrollment is up 20% this year.
$250,000 of improvements were put into the fields over the last four years. You will have the benefits of amenities that did not exist just a few years ago—bathroom, bleachers, paved walkways, and a scoreboard on field 1. This year we will be getting a scoreboard on field 2. In order to allow the League to accommodate more children, lights will be installed on fields 1, 2 & 3 allowing for night play. This project will cost more than $200,000.
In order to raise funds, the Association is having a dinner dance on Saturday evening April 12, 2008. Your child’s coaches will be there. Tickets are only $50 per person. Many amazing items will be auctioned off and there will be raffles. Prizes include diamond jewelry, gift certificates to local restaurants, a 42 inch plasma television, tickets to Mets and Yankee games, and tickets to Jersey Boys on Broadway.
The volunteers that run the Association have been working hard to make the fields better for your child. Please make an effort to attend this important function. Not only will it be tremendous fun, but the proceeds will benefit your child and others who will be part of the leagues for years to come.
We are accepting reservations for this event now. Space is limited to 300 people and reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. To secure your spot, please send a check for $50 per person with your name and address to the FHYAA clubhouse at 66-01 Fleet Street, Forest Hills, New York, 11375, Attn: Larry Berkowitz.
Last day to purchase tickets is March 30th. Tickets will not be sold at the door for this event, sorry!

NOTICE TO ALL 2011 SENIOR DIVISION PLAYERS - (AGES 15-18)
All senior division players must report for 2 rounds of player evaluations & scrimmage on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 and again on Sunday, Nov. 13 at P.S. 101 located at 2 Russel Place, Forest Hills Gardens. Both sessions will start at 1 p.m. but the gym will open at 12 p.m. for late registration.
Allow at least 2 hours for each scrimmage. You must wear basketball shorts, an appropriate jersey (or T-shirt) and sneakers. Bring something to drink.
Team placement will be based on these and future scrimmages, however, the league reserves the right to re-form any team early in the season in order to make the division fair and balanced.
All senior games will be played at P.S. 101 on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons and we expect the season to run from December through March.
