After going down 2 games to 0 in the second round of the playoffs, both Willis Tent and Z's Sport Shop posted wins to keep their series alive.
In the night's first game, Willis Tent went up 5-1 and hung on for the 5-4 win. In the night cap, Z's posted 4 second inning runs, then posted another 4 in the sixth to come away with the 8-3 win.
Both series will are on break for the holiday weekend and will resume on Tuesday, September 4. The Mustangs are at Z's at 6:30 and Drews visits Willis at 7:45.
Mustangs and Drews Continue Push for Title
With dominating wins in game 2, both the Mustangs and Drew Farms have pushed their opponents to the brink of elimination.
In the first game, the Mustangs continued to hit the ball hard while taking advantage of multiple Z's Sport Shop errors. Their 12-7 win puts them one game from eliminating Z's.
The second game of the evening saw Drew Farms take an identical 12-7 win over Willis Tent. Willis and Z's are now in the unenviable position of having to win 3 games in a row.
Both series continue on Tuesday, August 28. Willis plays Drews at 6:30 and Z's takes on the Mustangs at 7:45.
The play offs continued on Friday night with the first game of the second round series. Both bye teams rolled to easy victories. In the first game, Drew Farms took a 5-2 decision over Willis Tent. In the night cap, the Mustangs made it look easy, scoring in 5 of the 6 innings they hit to take a 7-1 victory over Z's Sport Shop.
The series continues on Sunday, with the Mustangs at Z's starting at 5:30, followed by Drews at Willis in the 6:45 slot.
With a convincing 8-0 victory, Z's Sport Shop moved on to the semi-final round. They will face the Mustangs in the late game on Friday.
