Westford Over-30 Slow-Pitch Softball

Games on Friday night, July 23, are postponed due to the rain.  The first two of the games will be added to Sunday night's schedule and the last game will be moved to Sunday, August 1.  Games are now as follows:

5:30  Healy Oil @ Drew Farms (rescheduled from 7/18)

6:45  Floral Arts @ PST

8:00  Mustangs @ Willis Tent

Sunday, August 1

5:30  Short Cut Landscaping @ Mario's Restaurant

With the wet weather continuing, Wednesday night's games have been postponed.  They have been rescheduled for Sunday, May 23 along with the second game from Tuesday night, which was also postponed due to rain.  The schedule is as follows:

5:30 PM  Floral Arts @ Drew Farms

6:45 PM  Willis Tent @ Short Cut Landscaping

8 PM  PST @ Mario's Restaurant

With near perfect weather for the second year in a row, the One Pitch Jamboree was played on Sunday. New bats (at least a few), new players, and lots of food for all.

Thanks go to the Mustangs, last year's champion, as the host of the BBQ. The race to host the 2011 BBQ begins Tuesday night, with PST @ Willis Tent and, in a rematch of last year's final series, Floral Arts @ the Mustangs.

The Recreation Department has closed all town fields, so practices tonight (Friday, April 16th) are cancelled.

If the weather doesn't improve, the fields will remain closed throughout the weekend, which means that Sunday night practices will also be cancelled.  As a guidline, here is the Rec Department policy:

"It is the Department Policy that fieldsare not open for play if there is standingwater, or the fields are saturated (like walkingon a wet sponge) or if it is raining heavily. Playing on fields under these conditions will damagethe turf for the season."
