Congratulations to SKLL players Alexandrea Goodness, Jack Wentworth and Gregory Ballinger, who each took home state titles in the 2012 Pitch, Hit and Run competition during a recent on-field pre-game awards ceremony at McCoy Stadium.

Alexandrea was the Best All-Around State Champion for the 13-14 year old division; Jack was the Running champion for the 9-10 year old division; and Gregory was the Best All-Around State Champion for the 13-14 year old division.

2012 Fall Softball Registration now open!

This six week program for girls ages 8-11 (as of 12/31/11) will be devoted to skill development – players will work through skill stations one night a week. On the other night, the players will be broken out into teams to play games. Little League major league softball rules will apply. Teams will be divided up differently each week – giving each participant a variety of different play opportunities. Please see our flyer for more information.

The program will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30pm at Old Mountain Field.

South Kingstown Little League will be holding baseball and softball player evaluations on March 3rd and 4th. Please see below for specific details.

Baseball Player Evaluations for all players ages 8 and up, who are interested in playing in either AAA or Majors and are not currently playing at the Major League level, will be held on Saturday, March 3rd from 1-5pm at Bomb Squad Baseball Company on 1174 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale.

A player MUST attend evaluations if he falls into any of the following categories:

12 year old who did NOT play in Majors for SKLL last Spring
10 & 11 year olds who did NOT play in Majors for SKLL last Spring but would like to be evaluated for Majors
All players who would like to be evaluated for AAA

The evaluation times are as follows:

12 year olds (mandatory evaluation for Majors): 1:00 – 1:30
11 year olds who wish to be evaluated for Majors (last names A-L): 1:30 – 2:00
11 year olds who wish to be evaluated for Majors (last names M-Z): 2:00 – 2:30
10 year olds who wish to be evaluated for Majors (last names A-L): 2:30- 3:00
10 year olds who wish to be evaluated for Majors (last names M-Z): 3:00 – 3:30
 
11 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (ALL): 3:30 – 4:00
10 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (last names A-L): 3:30 – 4:00
10 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (last names M-Z): 3:30 – 4:00
9 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (last names A-L): 4:00 – 4:30
9 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (last names M-Z): 4:30 – 5:00
8 year olds who wish to be evaluated for AAA (ALL): 4:30 – 5:00

Eligible players who do not attend evaluations will not be eligible for the Major League draft.  Younger players, and 8-9 year olds who do not want to be considered for AAA, do not need to attend.

Also, please be aware that the registration deadline for Majors is March 3rd. Any player who is not registered by that date cannot play in Majors. If you have not yet registered, you must do so online at skll.org prior to March 3rd or in person at the evaluations.

Softball Player Evaluations will be held on Sunday, March 4th from 1-3pm at Bomb Squad Baseball Company on 1174 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale.

Players new to the Major League division must attend evaluations. Please bring your glove, and your own bat and batting helmet if you have one.

1-2 pm: 9-10 year old evaluations
2-3 pm: 11-12 year old evaluations

Please arrive a few minutes earlier than your scheduled start time to check in. Directions to Bomb Squad are available at bombsquadri.com.

Come in from the winter weather and join us for an afternoon of wiffle ball, kickball and dodgeball on Sunday, February 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Bomb Squad Baseball Company on 1174 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale. Refreshments will be served!  

While you’re there, stop by to chat with league volunteers about baseball and softball and learn about the exciting plans South Kingstown Little League has for the 2012 season! We look forward to seeing all the familiar faces from last season. If you are a returning player, wear your uniform shirt from last year’s team!  We also can't wait to welcome new families to SKLL baseball and softball. Please bring a friend (SK resident) or neighbor who might enjoy becoming a part of SKLL 2012.
