May BOD Meeting 2021

CSSA BOARD MEETING
May 24, 2021
The monthly meeting of the CSSA was held May 24, 2021, at GameDay Grill, and called to order by Norm Thiem at 12:50 PM.
Members present: Ray DeLuca, Andy Tubbs, Dick O’Conner, Bob Werner, Norm Thiem, Mike Parson, Dewey Hom, Leland Brown.

Absent: John Humeston, Brad Tafoya, Robbie Crider, Randy Bergman
A. Minutes from 4-13-21 meeting were read, and approved.

B. Sponsor updates were given, and currently there are only 4 who have not responded or paid. These sponsors will be contacted by the end of the week in order to close out sponsorship for 2021.

C. Treasures Report: Beginning balance $23,150. Sponsor check of $350 received today which brings current balance to $25,000. Payout coming up this week for expenses such as field rental, umpires & scorekeepers will be approx. $12,000, which will leave the league with approx. $13,000 balance. The financial report was approved.

D. Fall evaluations will be conducted at: Skip Wells Park, July 24 & 25, 2021
Hobgood Park, July 20 & 27, 2021
Fall Season begins August 9th or 16th, according to field availability.

E. Due to some circumstances beyond our control the CSSA Awards banquet has changed dates. The banquet will now be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021
(9 days prior to Thanksgiving).

F. Bat inspections for compression/pressure as well as labels have worked well. Some bats were found to be illegal and removed from play. Testing/inspections will continue into the fall season. Rattling of bats will not be disqualified from use if the other tests pass.
G. Uniforms are being designed for the 2022 season so most players will have new shirts. The shirts will be supplied by the CSSA using player fees. They will be of better quality, colors, numbers, sponsor names, etc. If a player wishes to have their name printed on the back they will need to pay an additional $20 on their league fee. However, that player will be able to keep their shirt when they leave the league..

H. Rule book completion, originally worked on by Ray McClure, will be conducted over the next few months and ready for the 2022 season. The BOD members working on the completion will be Mike Parson, John Humeston & Ray DeLuca.

I. Next BOD meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2021, at 6:30 PM at Gameday Grill.

Time to pre-register for the June 16, 2021 CSSA Spring Golf Outing is running out. For those wanting to join in, we will be accepting pre-registrations and payments at the games next week until Wednesday June 9th. If we miss you after the 9th, one can still register day of the tournament but the cost will increase to $70 per person. You don’t have to have a full team to enter, we have singles, doubles even triples and will attempt to have complete teams of four (4) the day of play – but not imperative to be four. You don’t have to be a CSSA member to play either.
Cost – $65.00 pre-register and $70 day of play – fee includes green fees, cart and driving range.
Strings, Mulligans, and fabulous Red Bomb will be available for purchase at check in.
Play will be at Towne Lake Hills Golf Club, 1003 Towne Lake Hills E, Woodstock, GA 30189.
Check In begins at 12:30 pm, Tee off will be at 2:00pm with Shotgun start.
Standard Course Rules Apply – NO metal spikes, jeans, suitable attire is required. Each player to have their own club but if need, rentals are available.
Prizes will be awarded for: Low Gross, 2nd Low Gross, Low Net, 2nd Low Gross, lots of Door Prizes also.

CSSA is back hosting The Spring 2021 Golf outing after taking last spring off due to the pandemic. Participants need not be members of CSSA. Invite your friends, neighbors and family to enjoy a fun filled day.

Date: Wednesday June 16th (rain date, June 23th)
Time: Check-In and Practice at 12:30 with Shotgun start at 2:00 PM
Format: Four-person team scramble
Cost: $65 advance; $70 day of outing

Mar 2021 BOD Meeting

CSSA BOARD MEETING
March 8, 2021
The monthly meeting of the CSSA was held March 8, 2021, at GameDay Grill, and called to order by Norm Thiem at 6:30 PM.
Members present: Ray DeLuca, Andy Tubbs, Dick O’Conner, Bob Werner, Norm Thiem, Mike Parson, John Humeston, Robbie Crieder, Dewey Hom, Leland Brown

Absent: Randy Bergman & Brad Tafoya
A. Minutes from 2-08-21 meeting were read, and approved.
B. Sponsors updates were given, and 16 have been paid. Follow-up letters for renewals will be sent out this week.
C. Saturday & Sunday evaluations went well over the past two weekends. Approx. 48-50 new players coming into the CSSA.
D. Credit card process for the new players worked well. It took about 1 minute per transaction. Every returning player must pay before they can play, and it should ALL be done via the new credit card system. The cost to the CSSA for each transaction will be 1 ½% per transaction.
E. National League will consist of 5 teams (13 players); American League will consist of 6 teams (13 players); Masters League will consist of 6 teams (14 players). Other leagues will have at least 13 – 14 players according to player evaluations.
F. The BOD will address fees for players coming into the league after the start of the season at the next BOD meeting in April.
G. In order to accommodate the amount of players and for safety issues, players that are 69+ years old this year, playing on Tuesday nights, will move down to the Masters League for 2021 only.
H. Code of Conduct Rules and Liability Waver MUST be signed prior to playing in 1st game.
I. Tuesday night, March 16th, is scheduled for the testing of national League bats. No bats will be allowed to be on the field unless they have been labeled with player & serial number.
J. In the event of an injury, caused by a batted ball, the bat should be tested in ALL leagues.
K. Rosters need to be sent to the Commissioner the day after the draft.
L. Next BOD meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2021, at 6:30 PM at Gameday Grill.
