Historic League to launch the formation of East River Division

February 24, 2021 – Yonkers, NY – The Eastern District Soccer League (EDSL) is happy to announce the launch of a new division named East River Division and set to debut in the Fall of 2021. The East River Division will cover the areas of the South Bronx, West Queens, and North Brooklyn.

The EDSL will offer single team clubs in the area a chance to play locally with minimal travel and high competition. Teams will be expected to participate in the Jack Flamhaft ENYSSA Cup as well. The league will conclude with playoffs between the East River Division top teams and the other EDSL Divisions top teams for the $5000 Champions Cup.

EDSL Board will work on the formation of the division bringing together 8-10 Club Managers from the area to establish and grow the division. Furthermore, Mr. Pinori has begun the process of appointing a division manager with a deep understanding of the needs and wants of the amateur soccer community.

A main objective for the formation of the East River Division is to group clubs based on geographical proximity. This approach is successful in minimizing travel and creating local rivalries. Additionally, the division being a single team entity, it is considered to be the most affordable option among all NYC affiliated leagues.

The inaugural season of the East River Division is set to kick off on September 2021. Depending on the number of entrants, a cup tournament might be organized in the Spring.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a memory is priceless. Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
