Mustangs Claim Title
Good Pitching, Good Defense - an age old recipe for post-season success. The Mustangs demonstrated this to be true, taking a 4-1 victory over Floral Arts in the fourth game of their series. This clinched the title for the Mustangs, 3 Games to 1.
Staked to an early lead on the strength of a first inning two-run homer by pitcher Don Cusano, the Mustangs made those runs stand with solid defense. Floral Arts got one back in the bottom of the first, but couldn't muster any more offense.
According to league records, this is the first title for the Mustangs. Not to be outdone, Floral Arts also had a memorable season, posting almost as many wins during the regular season (17) as they had in the previous three (18).
