Healy Oil 27 - Mario’s Restaurant 14 Healy Oil erupted with 27 runs to beat Mario’s, 27, 14. Healy’s Dan Nucci went 5-for-5, Joe Arsenault hit a grand slam, and Chris Ricard hit a 3-run homer. Al Boisvert was superb at third base.

Drew Farms 15 - Shortcut Landscaping 14 Drews scored 15 runs in the first 2 innings, then held on over the remainder of the game to pull off the victory. Home runs from Lance Pratt, Todd Shepherd and Blake Buxton (grand slam) powered the 2-inning outburst. Multiple hit games from Mark Kost, Scott Cole, Pat Pawlak, and Buxton helped aid the victory. Short Cut got two home runs apiece from Brent Oakleaf and Dave Silton.

Nashoba Valley Veterinarian Mustangs 12 - Shortcut Landscaping 4 Mustangs won a key game in vying for a 1st round play-off bye, defeating Short Cuts, 12-4. Mike Kennedy made a great diving play at shortstop late in the game to stop a potential rally by Short Cuts. On offense, Bill Knute led the way with two home runs and 4 RBI. Jack McGrath, Fred Mettler, and Andy Mastandrea gave the bottom of the line-up some punch, going a collective 7 for 9. Mike Gross and Chris Smith homered, accounting for the only runs by Short Cut.

Drew Farms 16 - Floral Arts 14 Drews capped off a successful week by beating first place Floral Arts in extra-innings. A 6-run first inning, followed by scoring in every inning except 2, and solid defense paved the way for Drews. Tom Menicci, who went 4-for-4 with 2 home runs, led the 23-hit attack. Todd Shepherd and Pat Pawlak also provided home runs. Mark Kost, Shepherd and Bill Faherty collected 3 hits apiece, while Scott Cole, Pawlak and Bill Bowser provided two each. Lance Pratt pitched a solid game against the potent Floral offense. Floral got strong contributions from Jim Peloquin and Dean Wormell in the loss.

Willis Tent 4 – Pro Sports Therapy 3 Willis Tent jumped out to an early 3 run lead on a Rob Swinamer home run, added another run on a Swinamer RBI in the 3rd, then withstood a late PST rally for a 4-3 win in the only action on Sunday night. PST was led offensively by rookie Mark Strzegowski, who had a 3-3 night.

Healy Oil 12 - Gutcheck 9 In a closely contested game, Healy Oil got great pitching from Matt Critch and solid defense from Glen Robinson and Bill Eaton in a 12-9 victory over Gutcheck. Joe Arsenault (3-for-4), Steve Cuzziere (3-for-3), Joe Ingalls (3-for-4) and Mike Finnegan (3-for4) were offensive stars for Healy Oil.

Floral Arts 19 - Shortcut Landscaping 6 Larry Mardany spun another beauty and Floral exploded for 8 runs in the fourth inning en route to a 19-6 victory. Mardany kept the powerful Short Cuts lineup in the ballpark and got big outs every time he was in a jam. Tom Semeter, Rob Beaudette, Frank Lancelotta, and Simon Tripp (2) homered in the win, and Greg Marchand and Roger Whittlesey had 3 hits apiece. Chris Smith knocked in a couple and played good defense for Short Cuts. Jason Humphrey hit a home run and Bill Doherty had two hits for Short Cut.

Mario’s Restaurant 20 - Drew Farms 14 Mario’s strung together 3 five run innings at the start of the game and reached the 7 home run limit in a 20-14 win over Drew Farms. Jim DeMarco, Thanh Nguyen (6 RBI) and Dave Batchelder (grand slam) all went deep twice, and Jon Russo added a solo shot late. Mario’s infield combination turned several double plays, including one in which Pete Morano stretched at first base to complete a key double play in the seventh inning to end any hopes of a Drew Farm comeback. Drew Farms got two home runs from Tommy Menicci, (2-for-4 and a BB) along with one from Steve Abbott (4-for-5 with a BB). Also, Bill Bowser (3-for-3 and a BB), Lance Pratt (3-for-4 and a BB) and Mark Kost (2-for-3 and 2 BB) chipped in on offense. Bill Faherty and Bowser helped keep things within striking distance with their solid defensive efforts.

Pro Sports Therapy 26 - Nashoba Valley Veterinarian Mustangs 13 The Mustangs jumped out to a 6-run lead in the top of the first, powered by two home runs. But PST chipped away until a 12-run explosion in the fifth inning, followed by 7 more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, culminating in a 26-13 run-rule victory. For the first time in team history, PST exceeded the home run limit. Mark Urlage (4-for-4, BB, sac fly and 8 RBI) hit three home runs. Tim Shutt (5-for-5 with 5 RBI) and Tom Rose (4-for-5 with 4 RBI and a Sac Fly) both contributed 2 home runs. PST also got big nights from the new double-play combo of second baseman John Bodi (5-for-5 with 2 doubles and 4 runs) and Keith Davighi (4-for-5). Jeff Fuller got the win on the mound. The Mustangs also hit the ball well, hitting 4 home runs of their own, including another Don Cusano bomb.
