We are proud to announce the hiring of our next Head Coach! At the end of last season the Board knew we needed to hire a new coach for our team. We met and decided we wanted someone who brought maturity to our staff, someone flexible to coach in the summer, and someone familiar with kids who knows how to lead them and create an awesome learning environment. We all thought a teacher who knows swimming would be great!
Take a guess what we found. . .
We are ecstatic to announce that Rob Bowers has agreed to coach the Sierra Sharks this season. Rob returns to us after being one of our coaches three years ago. Rob is a credentialed teacher in our area. He also brings to us over 35 years of swim experience as a swimmer himself, a coach, and swim trainer. He has also coached water polo as well. He believes that focusing on speed and strength work, starts and turns, and better efficiency skills and techniques are crucial to the advancement of ALL swimmers. Personally, Rob is married and has 3 kids of his own, some of whom have also been a part of our swim team in the past. He looks forward to leading our team as our Head Coach and we can’t be ore excited. The Board believe Rob brings both the maturity and experience we wanted, in addition to a great history on our team as a leader and a family man. He is a perfect fit for our family, community based team.
Please welcome him as our coach and get ready for an awesome season.
