Swim Night Information Recap

Posted by Village School Athletics at Aug 26, 2015 8:10AM PDT

Dear Viking community,

On Tuesday evening, there was a great turnout for the swim program meeting; thank you to all parents that were able to attend. As a recap, and as a reference for interested families that were unable to attend, attached is the handout that was distributed during this meeting. This handout will review all program details, fees, and procedures for the swim season. In addition, there is a section of swim coach biographies so you can get to know the new swim coaching staff better.

The most important thing that should be noted about the swim program is that during the Swim Season (October – February) all participating students MUST be registered and be an active member of a swimming club. Examples of this are Energy Core Swimming, MAC, Katy Aquatics, etc.

For all parents that signed in at either the May swim meeting or the one that occurred last night, your child has been put on the swim program interests list to ensure all future program information is sent to you. As a reminder, this program is only available to current 6th – 12th grade students.

Below are important contacts if you find you have any additional comments and/or questions:

Dustin Embrey – Director of Athletics

dembrey@thevillageschool.com

Doug Buckalew – Energy Core Swim Head Coach & Village School Swim Coach

coachdoug@ecswimming.com

Stephanie Phillips – Village School Coach and Swim Coordinator

sphillips@thevillageschool.com

Jeff Bond – Associate Director of Athletics

jbond@thevillageschool.com

John DeBakey – Middle School Athletic Director

jdebakey@thevillageschool.com

We are excited to get this program underway and thank you for being a part of this new adventure for us.

Go Vikings!

SEE YOU AT KICKOFF!!!

Dear parents,

On Tuesday, August 25th, The Village School Athletic Department will be hosting the Middle School Fall sports parent meeting. The meeting will start at 6:15pm in the Middle School cafeteria. Middle School Athletic Director, John Debakey, will provide general information regarding Middle School Athletics. After that, each team will meet separately so everyone has the chance to meet their Head Coach. These meetings are very informative as we will discuss policies, schedules, logistics, and answer any questions you may have. This is a great way to get informed and meet your coaches in person! We hope to have a great turnout and are looking forward to seeing everyone there!
