The Lady Golden Bears Move Their Record To (4-3 Overall and 0-1 In HHC Play) After Being Defeated By Now (6-1 Overall and 3-0 In HHC Play) Pendleton Heights 77-55. The Lady Bears Was Led In Scoring By: Ava Wilson 18, Madison Phares 17, Kylee Edwards, Abby Brenner, 8 Apiece, & Ella Johnson 4. Pendleton Heights Was Led In Scoring By: Whitney Warfel 22, & Kacie Warfel 14. The JV Won Their Game 32-30 To Keep Their Record (6-0). The Lady Bears Will Be Back In Action Next Friday Night When hey Tavel To Take On Franklin County JV Tip Is At 6 PM. & Varsity Tip Is At 7:30 PM.

The girls’ basketball team welcomed county rival Southwestern to Garrett Gym on Friday night. The girls’ led 14-12 after the first quarter. Senior Madison Bassett, “the Game Changer” award winner, connected on multiple three pointers to jump start the Golden Bears in the first half. She ended the game scoring 13 points with 12 of those coming in the first half. The Bears took a 25-20 halftime lead. Shelbyville blew open the game in the third quarter out scoring the Spartans 12-4 to take a 40-24 lead. The Golden Bears continued to play great defense, closing the game out with a final score of 49-29. The Golden Bears produced three double digit scorers with Edwards leading the way with 17, Bassett with 13, and Wilson with 12. Shelbyville improved to 4-2 on the year and is off to its best start since 2006-2007. The JV improved to 5-0 with an impressive win and both teams will host Pendleton Heights on Saturday with basketball starting at 12 pm.

The Lady Golden Bears move their record to (4-2) After they defeated now (2-3) Southwestern 49-29. The Lady Golden Bears was led in scoring by: Kylee Edwards 17, Madison Bassett 13, Av Wilson 12< Madison Phares 5, & Abby Benner 2, Southwestern was led in scoring by: Lilly Rooks 8. The Lady Golden Bears JV Team record Moves their record to (5-0) after they defeat Southwestern 50-12. The bears will be back in action next Saturday Afternoon when they travel to take on Pendleton Heights to open HHC play JV tip is at 12 Noon and Varsity tip is at 1:30 PM.

The JV Girls Basketball Game scheduled for tonight Tuesday 11/16/21 vs. Greensburg has been canceled due to Greensburg not having enough girls to play. Greensburg has been hint with a team illness and injuries. This will be a Varsity only contest starting at 7:30 pm at Greensburg. Go Bears!

Abby participates in basketball and softball at Shelbyville High School. Her favorite TV show is New Girl and TikTok is her favorite app on her phone. Abby loves Christmas, because it allows her to spend the entire day with her immediate family, as well as with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Abby enjoys reading, painting, and listening to music in her spare time. Abby’s favorite athletic moment takes her back to last softball season vs. New Palestine. Abby was on third base with a runner on second base and the Golden Bears trailed by one run. New Palestine’s catcher tried to pick the runner off second base and Abby broke for home to beat the throw with a head first slide and tie the game at 3-3. Abby’s father is Thomas Brenner and stepmom is Crystal Brenner. Her mother is Amber Brenner.
