Thanks to everyone for making it out to our first official early practice today and sticking around for the parent meeting. We had our full roster out so hopefully everyone is up to speed and i think everyone got their practice jerseys. I’ll quickly summarize a few things and put the official call out for jobs still needing to be fulfilled :)
I’ve posted the practice ice slots I know we have until the end of the month in our calendar – it’s easiest to view in “calendar” on team pages and you can click on each practice if you need more details. But for the time being, we are confirmed for 6am on Thursday mornings, roatating biweekly with our Novice Major team. As mentioned previously – both Novice teams are welcome to attend all Thursday mornings if desired. Which ever Novice team leads the Thursday morning slot gets the later start on Saturday (6:30 -8) for our Super share, while the team not leading Thursday gets the early bird (6-7:30). Please remember Saturday 6am starts use dressing Rooms 1 & 3, and 6:30 starts use 2 & 4. We will likely have an evening slot as well, but keeping in mind, things can always change. Until the end of the month – unless otherwise notified – we’ve got the following ice times:
DATE: Sunday Sept 17, 7am – 8:15am – VRC
DATE: Thursday Sept 21, 6am – 7:30am – VRC
DATE: Saturday Sept 23, 6:30am – 8am – VRC
DATE: Wednesday Sept 27, 5:10 – 6:10pm – VRC
- DATE: Thursday Sept 28, 6am – 7am – VRC *OPTIONAL *
DATE: Saturday Sept 30, 6am – 7:30am – VRC
VOLUNTEERS / JOBS
We had a few parents volunteer for some jobs this morning (THANK YOU!) as follows;
Ken Gourlay – (Edwin’s dad) – Treasurer
Scott McQueen – (Ellie’s dad) – Team Clothing Manager
Alex Zolis – (Ollie’s dad) – Goalie Manager
We still need someone to step up to help with our tournament that we host with the Novice Major team in the Spring. Everyone needs to pitch in during the 3 day tournament but we will need someone to spearhead it… send me an email if you think you can take it on (PLEASE :)) It is our one way of creating some revenue to offset costs for the year or next year and the kids have a blast! I think we’ve got our safety person sorted, but will confirm shortly. I’ll get info out to everyone about goalie rotation and team swag as soon as I’ve got some more info for you.
I will also have more info on team fees, tournaments etc as soon – but as mentioned – looking to get the kids into the Saanich tournament between Xmas and New Years, and possibly 1-2 more, plus our own hosted tourney over Spring break.
I think that’s it for the time being, please don’t hesistate to connect with me if you have any questions – looking forward to a great season!
