THE GLOBAL GAMES 2017
North Broward Prep took over 120 middle school student-athletes to compete in The Global Games of 2017. This was a great event that promoted school spirit, sportsmanship and friendly competition versus our sister schools. We are very proud to say that our students from NBP represented our school community in a positive manner on and off the playing fields.
Although we did not come home with the Overall Cup, NBPS did finish in 2nd Place out of the 13 schools in attendance. Overall it is safe to say that the students had a great experience that they will always remember and we did bring some hardware home.

Girls Soccer Gives Back to the Community
For the 5th year in a row the Girls Varsity Soccer Team has taken part in the Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Event at Cypress Bay High School. This wonderful event consists of four Varsity Soccer Teams that come together each year to play a competitive soccer game but most importantly to raise awareness for cancer. This year the teams consisted of North Broward Prep, Douglas HS, Cardinal Gibbons and host Cypress Bay HS. All teams wore a jersey that represented a type of cancer. The Lady Eagles wore a blue jersey with pink numbers for breast cancer awareness. The biggest part of this event is that all four teams gather toys to donate to the Cancer Center of Joe DiMaggio’s Children Hospital. Once again the Lady Eagles made us proud with the number of toys donated. Overall the night was an awesome experience. It was a great opportunity for the girls to come together as a team while also giving back to the Community. Great work Ladies!!

Team of the Week – Varsity Football
The NBP Varsity Football Team were on fire these past two weeks. The Eagles battled with rival Pine Crest on Friday, Oct. 27th coming home with the victory over the Panthers, 21-20. The boys did not stop there. The Eagles carried their momentum in to Tuesday’s Homecoming Game vs. Gulliver Prep. They knew they had to come out strong and earn the win over the Raiders in order to have a chance to make the play-offs. In front of the entire High School the Varsity Eagles put on a show controlling the game on both sides of the ball ultimately coming out on top 29-14. Unfortunately, the victory was not enough to clinch a play-off birth but it was a perfect way to cap off an outstanding season. The Eagles finished with an overall record of 7-3 and 6th in the Region.

Team of the Week – Varsity Cheerleading
The NBP Varsity Cheerleaders gave back to the community and helped “Beat ALS” this past Saturday, October 21, 2017, as
they participated in their Third Annual Miami-Dade Walk to Defeat ALS at Tropical Park. The ladies took their spot in front of the DJ stage and helped to kick-off the event by dancing and leading the crowd in cheers and warm-ups. They created a pathway and supported the walkers as they began, and ended, their journey to help raise awareness and SLAM ALS. The ladies have been actively involved with the ALS organization for the past couple of years, previously joining forces with the NBP football and dance teams to create a video for the global online challenge, SLAM ALS, to help promote ALS Awareness Month. The ladies will once again Rep the Prep when they kick-off both the Broward and Palm Beach ALS walks in early 2018
