Registration for Winter Futsal Training is now CLOSED
PS United recognizes the unique skill-building benefits provided by the futsal format. We understand that many of our athletes play winter sports, however long intervals away from soccer can cause developmental gaps heading into the spring season. The winter months are an opportunity to focus on the technical level of the player.
With the Club’s Winter Futsal Program & Tournament players learn and master the fundamental ball skills and game movements of fast-paced futsal. Played with a weighted ball on a hard-surface, small format futsal court, futsal emphasizes ball touches and handling skills (the short game). The winter sessions conclude with a tournament in March (for U9+). Each session will be led by PSU staff coaches or coaches from the local soccer community.
Location, time/days, and age/gender group combinations subject to change depending on enrollment. We target 16 players of similar ability per session. There are no registration refunds. Sessions, or the club tournament, cancelled due to inclement weather will not be made up and no refund will be provided. We will do our best to host each session but it may not always be possible with winter weather.
PSU U16 Girls Red Finish 3rd in Group @ State Championships
Last weekend the U16 girls split the first 2 rounds of Group Play, winning 3-2 over Croatian Eagles MRL and falling to Green Bay Area United Hurricanes. Saturday, the team lost to Brookfield in game 3 of group play, which put them finishing 3rd in their group.
The team played strong against the best competition in the state, finishing their tournament appearance 2-2 (after defeating SC Waukesha in the play-in game). Congratulations ladies on an outstanding performance as the 4th* girls’ team to represent PSU at State since the club formed in 2012!
*2013: U18s, and the U15s who are the only PSU team to win their group and advance to the semifinals; U16s in 2014. PSU had advanced 7 boys’ teams to the group stage.
U10B Red took 2nd in the Kohl’s Cup at Uihlein October 8-9. The team is coached by Brian Schick and Dan Kaczmarek.
Ben Holtzen has committed to play college soccer at St. Norbert College, an NCAA Division III school in De Pere. Ben has been the starting goalkeeper on the PS United premier team, coached by Brian Schmidt, for the past four seasons. He is also the starting goalkeeper at Hamilton HS.
Ben and his family have been supporters of their community club for years. Ben played with Sussex Soccer Club prior to the clubs merging in 2012, and his younger sister currently plays for PSU on the U11 Select Red team. Ben’s mom, Kathy Holtzen, said “PSU was an awesome experience. Pewaukee Sussex United is a smaller club, but is able to hang with some of the biggest clubs in and out of state.”
The team has consistently finished in the top half of the premier league table and won many tournaments as a result of Ben anchoring the defense with outstanding goalkeeping.
“PSU and Coach Brian played a major role in making me who I am today. My teammates who I can now call brothers, have always supported and encouraged me to do my best,” said Ben Holtzen.
Ben has great technique and is a really good shot stopper. His confidence has grown each year and his decision making on the field is excellent. Congratulations Ben, great achievement. PSU, your coach, and your teammates are very proud of you!
