News and Announcements
We have just under 2 weeks until our shark infested waters swim on March 5th. Wow! time flies! Please do your best to hit or exceed the 150 dollar goal that we gave each swimmer, as it is vital funds to run the season. It is the expectation that every swimmer be at this one team fundraiser on the 5th. I know a few swimmers have the SAT’s and that it is the only date to take those, so those swimmers will swim their 200 laps during an extra practice, but please make sure that your swimmer is there and participating as a member of the Santiago Swim Team. It is a fun event that kicks off our season.
Thank you for your commitment to running the best HS swim program around and I’ll hopefully see everyone on the 1st at our the meet and the 5th at our team event.
Just a few quick announcements as our season is starting to take shape:
1. Don’t for get that the second half of the spirit pack is due this Friday (tomorrow) if you have not paid in full. Our suits have shipped and Kens is working on all our apparel.
2.We have our first meet on March 1st against Mater Dei and Northwood at Northwood High School. Start time will be 3:30 and all athletes will be bused to this meet.
3. Shark Infested Waters: Don’t for get that on the 5th of March we will have our SIW. Kids should bring the money that they raised that morning and we need parents to help count the kids laps. It’s a fun event and I look forward to seeing everyone there.
4. Team Captains: Swimmers, if you are a junior or senior and want to interview for team captain please see Coach White to set up an interview time. We would like team captains set by the middle of next week.
If you have any questions please feel free to email Coach White at email@example.com
Last week Mrs. Young and I met with the swimmers to discuss our Shark Infested Waters fundraiser. Every swimmer received a packet that has a letter explaining the fundraiser and a letter they can send out for sponsorships. On the front of the packet they have their sponsor sheet that needs to be handed in with the money they raise. Each Swimmer has been asked to raise a minimum of 150 dollars but please don’t stop there. The better the fundraiser goes the more cool stuff we can do for our swimmers!! If you have any questions please email me but March 5th will get her fast so you want to start working on those sponsorships now. Thank you in advance for all your support and lets make this SIW the best one yet!!!
I had a few questions on the shirts. The shirt is the same brand, Nike, as last year but the team logo will be different this year. Sorry for the confusion. Also, we will be cancelling girls swim practice tonight because of the home polo game at our pool tonight.
Thanks again and GO SHARKS!
Today I will be sending home a form to get sizes for T-shirts and the Jacket. Parents feel free to add an extra Nike dryfit t-shirt for your self. The shirts are the same as last year and the cost is 25 dollars per shirt. I also got suit sizes from most of the kids and need to have everyone size by today. I need to send in the suit order in ASAP so we get them by our first meet. Lastly, remember that the spirit pack money, or at least half, is due this week. Thank you for all your support and I look forward to a great season.
